We had the opportunity to work with Chris in our property. The entire process was seamless, from booking an appointment, the invoice, and the day-of procedure. Chris arrived early to capture the exterior documentation (i.e., front/back entrances, roof, facade) and greeted my partner and I with warmth and good humor. We examined each part of our future home, and Chris was very helpful with answering our questions and sharing context when weren't familiar with certain issues. It's clear he was knowledgeable and reassured us that we would be in good hands on closing day. After the inspection, you receive an in-depth report with assessments on the areas of improvement, concerns, and general status reports. I think he did a great job "looking for trouble," keeping us notified of how to be proactive should any maintenance is needed. Eagle Inspections was great to work with, and should definitely be considered in any home-buying process.

I purchased my first home, and used Eastern Home Inspections in Mansfield, NJ…read more I was referred by half a dozen people, to use them. Even my Realtor had nothing but good things to say about the company. Especially, the inspector, Michael Burla. When the day came for my inspection. He was early, and already surveying any damage on the outside of my home. I thought it was pretty enthusiastic that he was already there working. He was so friendly, and allowed my husband and I to walk along with him through the house explaining what he was doing, very informative. He joked with us and had a great time, letting us know the ins and outs of every nook and cranny of the house. Including all of our appliances. He also stated that he's been a home inspector for 25 years. But he still wasn't afraid to get on down into the crawlspace to check for termites. We received our inspection later that night to our surprise. Michael made things so much easier for us to decide on what to do next. So professional, informative, and very friendly. He was willing to answer all of our questions. And Carol in the office was so efficient in getting us our agreement and scheduling for a time that we could be there. The company is worth using, they have the lowest prices as far as I've seen. Thanks again, Mike! Great job couldn't have chosen a better inspector! Janet & Fred LeVasseur

We had Eastern do a home inspection of our home before we bought. Rick was quick to tell us of his…read moremany years of experience which made us feel comfortable. Nothing stood out as wrong during the inspection, but after we moved in and problems began to appear, we thought back and realized several procedure concerns. First, Rick said he got here early and started the inspection, which did not allow us to follow those movements and findings as we like to do. Also, I pointed out a spot in the gutter where much rainwater was dripping down. Rick dismissed my concerns saying that everyone had that. I pointed out that I could see several homes from where I stood and none of them had that. I also noted the very wet soil and moss underneath. Rick asked if we needed a termite inspection. As we were not getting a mortgage, we didn't need one but wanted one. He certified that there was no evidence of termites or termite damage. We never saw him do anything that might determine that conclusion. The inspection report showed very little wrong with the property and those items were acceptable. 2 days after moving in, water was backing up in the sink, when the dishwasher was run or just the water. We thought it might be because of the inoperable disposal which we knew of and which Rick mentioned. But, as it turned out and after we had water all over the kitchen floor, the backup was due to a clog in the line. Immediately starting off with a repair. Rick did run the dishwasher but we don't know if he ran it for a complete cycle, which he should have done. Then came the bugs - centipedes, carpenter ants and...termites. Lots and lots of termites outside under pieces of slate. My husband contacted Rick about the situation. Rick mentioned that it had been January when he inspected and that not much could be determined in the cold weather. In the next breath, he said he could find termites in 2 feet of snow. Which is it? He mentioned that he was a guest in the owner's home and could disturb nothing. Not even a piece of slate? Now, our concerns aren't so much that termites were found but that Rick seemingly did nothing. We didn't see him go outside to look for mud tunnels. My husband was a realtor for 13 years and followed many inspectors who merely tapped the woodwork with the handle of a screwdriver to listen for hollow sounds. Rick didn't do that. Had we known of the termites, we would have insisted the owner pay for remediation. Instead, we are strapped with treatment that will cost over a thousand dollars in the end. If Rick felt he couldn't thoroughly check for termites in the winter, why did he offer to do so without warning us of the uncertainty of it and charge us for it? But, the worst part of dealing with Rick was how condescending he was, as was mentioned by A.Z. I chimed in to the conversation but Rick talked right over me and wouldn't let me be heard. We ended up yelling over each other and my husband hung up. I am one who is quick to comp;iment people and have only left one other bad review but Rick's treatent of this customer was totally unconcerned and unprofessional. Maybe other inspectors in this company do a better job of customer satisfaction, but we could certainly not recommend Rick.

Inspector was average and we are not happy with the inspection report findings. We understand that we all are human being and make mistakes but I hate when the other party does not accept even though they are on fault. It is the fact we had to point things out to the inspector that he missed that he should have caught easily and these were major things he missed. When we called initially, we were promised the inspector will climb on the roof weather permitted, but the inspector refused. When we mentioned this to the manger or supervisor, she is saying: no their guys do not climb on the roof. So we mislead. Although the reception was pleasant to speak to the one we booked the appt. with. (maybe that's the catch how they got us because she was nice) The most disappointing thing was the management because we called them to give the feedback on the service we received and the so called "supervisor" was thinking she is all that and being so RUDE. She was almost arguing with us rather than calming down and listening and working with us. Sincere advise, Please stay away from this company. I wish there is a negative rating available to rate this review.
