As a soon to be, first time gun owner, I cannot say enough about Pinnacle Firearms. Should have gone there first. Everyone was friendly from the minute I walked in and Customer Service throughout my visit was exceptional! Dennis, the owner introduced himself and Israel could not have done more for me. He answered all my questions and concerns without condescension. He explained the services they provide and he took the time to show me pistols that I was interested in and some education as well. There was no steering me towards any one product and no pressure at all to commit. I left feeling empowered and will definitely be going back to purchase my first firearm from Pinnacle. Thank You! read more

Pinnacle Firearms and Training - Sporting Goods Near Me - Uxbridge, Massachusetts

I have been to at least 100 firearms shops in the history of my life. This goes back to the beginning in 1980. This is the finest store that I have ever been to. All over CT. NH. VT. NY. MA. ME. This store has an enormous selection and you can find whatever it is you're looking for. The staff have gone above and beyond for me each time that I have been there. The prices are fair. The staff members are professional knowledgeable and kind. read more

The best in the area! First time visit there today and have to say this is the best shop 've been to in the area for some time now! The staff and service is by far extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I went there with an idea of what I was looking for and they helped guide to me a few choices and ultimately what I wanted. I'll definitely make them my go to shop going forward now! read more

I'm a first time gun owner and have been searching high and low for ammunition so I can actually go to the range and practice. With the shortage, it's been tough to find. I'm glad I checked out First Defense Firearms today; not only did they have what I was looking for, but they had magazines for my firearm, and a fantastic looking selection of just about everything else. I believe Dennis himself was who rang me out (noticed the left side holster) and I can't say enough nice things about the transaction overall. Definitely going to be my go to for supplies going forward. I suspect I was gouged by my last supplier, but not this time. Thank you for being such a wonderful asset to the community! read more

This place is great. My wife and I wanted to take some firearms lessons, so after talking to some neighbors of ours who recommended First Defense, we gave them a ring. We couldn't have been happier with all our experiences with them. The owner, Dennis, is a state trooper. I think he even said he was a firearms instructor for the state troopers. Bottom line - he really knows his stuff. The class was great - informative, taught me everything I needed to know to be safe with a gun. He also offers some other courses which I might try in the future (home defense, self defense, etc.). The store itself is also great. It's a small shop but has a lot packed into it. My wife and I just picked up our first gun from him and the experience was smooth as can be. They took the time to answer every question we had and provided advice and tips. One thing I really liked about Dennis is that you can really tell he has enthusiasm for this stuff - he gets really excited and into it when he explains different products and features. Are they the cheapest? Not sure... I didn't do too much price checking. The prices sure seem at least fair compared to my 2 minute internet search. It's right down the road from me though and has convenient hours (Gotta lave 5:30 - 8:30 or thereabouts). I'm sure I'll be heading there many more times in the coming years for anything I need. All in all, 5 stars for the owners and staff being super helpful and taking a keen interest in their customers. read more

Thank you Dennis for the wonderful course of force on force. I learned a lot and will start honing on the skills you gave me and looking forward for round 2 for force on force 2 on Nov 27. Oh by the way guy's and girls getting hit with soft air pellets isn't that bad you have more fun than getting hurt and really I felt no pain just sore. I will be by your store next week to check out your big sale weekend. For people thinking about doing some classes with Dennis be assured he's thro and doesn't cut corners you will get quality time and quality knowledge. You will love it too Thanks again read more

I went there last week on a whim to check it out and left with a superb shooting 22 target rifle...Dennis and staff were personable, friendly, knowledgeable and fielded my endless questions with flair. Highly recommended and I suggest that you go there and see for yourself.. read more

Small shop so their inventory is limited but they can special order anything you want and are extremely accommodating. Evening hours are a huge plus. Courses taught by Dennis are top notch and deserve a special mention. If you need training, this is the place to go, period. read more

First Defense is by FAR my favorite gun shop in the entire state; I can't say enough positive things about the guys there. The shop is small in area but the guys make fantastic use of it-every inch of the walls and shelves are stocked with an endless array of gun stuff. The quality of the selection is exceptional, you will find NOTHING of mediocre quality here, and their prices are highly competitive if not the best in the area. I've bought a little of everything from these guys, and their friendliness and close attention to customer service is second to none. When I'm spending $700 on a gun, I want to know that it's going to a deserving business. When I go into this shop I don't feel like just a customer, I feel like a friend. They've never pushed me to buy anything, but they are happy to answer questions and help me make an educated decision, pointing out the pros and cons and features of everything they sell, and they're incredibly knowledgeable. I just recently used First Defense to transfer a firearm I purchased from out of state. Dennis was incredibly cooperative with the seller despite his unnecessary demands, and he worked tirelessly to help guide me through my first online firearm purchase, communicating with me frequently via Facebook and over the phone. I don't have a single negative thing to say about the guys at First Defense, and they've earned my lifelong business. -L.M. read more

Dennis and the team at First Defense are top notch! Purchased a few items here, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. If they don't have it in stock, they can order it and get it in quickly. Thanks again Dennis and team! read more

Dennis is the best. Amazing customer service and a very knowledgeable staff. I'm so glad such an awesome gun store is not far from me.

My husband and I both took our LTC basic firearms course with Dennis and we cannot say enough great things about the course and Dennis himself! He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to firearms/ safety and teaches his class with such pride and efficiency! He's very interactive and makes the class fun! I went in knowing absolutely NOTHING about firearms/safety or how to properly handle them, after his class, I already feel that much more comfortable handling a firearm! I HIGHLY recommend taking this class with Dennis at First Defense Firearms! Him and his team are the BEST! Thank you! read more

I can't say enough positive things about classes with Dennis, owners of First Defense Firearms. If you want to improve as a shooter by absolutely perfecting your technique, this is your guy. Dennis has an incredible depth of knowledge - based on many years of practical, real life experience - about all things self defense related that he weaves into his instruction. He also has tons of stories that help to bring learning to life and make classes fun. Over the course of the past year (starting from zero shooting experience), I have taken Dennis' Handgun Level 1 class (twice), Handgun Skills and Movement, Women's Self Defense, Concealed Carry, Fighting with a Shotgun Level 1, and many private lessons. My skills as a shooter have grown exponentially under his tutelage. At every interaction, Dennis has coached me how to improve my accuracy, precision, and speed. I've learned combat mentality, how to transition between targets and how to shoot while moving. He challenges me to constantly get better, provides the techniques to enable me to do so, and inspires me to continually pursue the "quality repetition" through perfect practice. Every lesson is packed with new drills meant to challenge; I learn tons. Dennis is an exceptional instructor and taking his classes are the best investment I have made to improve my shooting skills. read more

thank you dennis & shelly for a smooth and easy transaction AND for shipping to california. this was my first time buying a firearm online. i actually found them through gunbroker.com and i got a fantastic deal...i could not have been happier with the process. dennis was very responsive via email and shelly helped ease my nerves about the transaction over the phone. it's interesting, i buy a lot of crap online but for some reason i had this weird anxiety about buying a firearm online. i wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again, only next time it would be anxiety-free. read more

I've been to this shop several times now and I'm very impressed. I think you'll find what you're looking for here. It's a small shop but they have a great inventory. They also seem very willing to get what you want if they don't already have it. What impresses me the most is the customer service. I've had an opportunity to interact with most of the staff there and have been able to see them dealing with many other customers. I've seen people walk in that seemed to be walking in to their first gun shop as well as regulars discussing gunsmithing that goes over my head. No matter what your level of knowledge and comfort with firearms is they take the time to educate you on what you're considering purchasing. I've seen them walk people through the purchase of a firearm, then walk through which ammunition they should consider, which holsters to consider, how to clean the firearm, etc. I don't think you'll go wrong here. read more

My wife and I attended Dennis's Firearms Safety Course and what clearly sets First Defense apart from others is Dennis and his team. In his class your being trained by someone who trains our MA State Police department officers in all aspects of gun safety and self defense. In addition you get all the instruction in one jam packed day including hands on loading and disarming of various types of firearms, and live shooting at the range. You'll leave with your certificate in hand and, more importantly, the knowledge needed to getting your license to carry, and the responsibility that comes with it. read more

Great shop, products are a little crowded on the walls, tho. They have many different magazines, some are LEO Only. Lots of holsters and one of the best selections of AR-15 parts in any shop around here. All the little parts you need to complete your build. read more

Dennis and all others are absolute knowledge gurus. They provide the upmost personalized experience and are extremely knowledgable in just about every avenue of firearms. I took the Utah CCW class and Carrying Concealed class with Dennis and they both were incredible. He isn't like a machine that will stamp your certificate and let you go, he will give you examples, answer questions, and make you think about something you never really thought about. His classes are very entertaining but more importantly he will prepare you for a stressful situation where you aren't going to have 10 minutes to prep and think about your shot (along with so much more obviously) Looking forward to taking more classes!! read more

I live in Uxbridge and First Defense Firearms has been great. I recently got into the hobby and purchased my first firearm here. I walked in having no idea what to buy, or where to use it.. or anything. Someone was courteous enough to explain the options to me and I walked out the proud owner of my first revolver. I've since been back nearly 3 times a week for various things, ammo, reloading gear (Denis was kind enough to order me some primers), and various accessories. It's nearly always packed in there (for good reason) and this can make for some long trips when you're just trying to pick up ammo real quick. For that, I gotta tack off a star, but with the space they have they do the best they can, and nobody seems to mind all that much. I highly recommend First Defense. Aside of being crowded and busy, it's damn near perfect. read more

I have been looking for a handgun for about six months. I went to five gun shops and at each one the staff treated me like they were doing me a favor answering my questions and never offered me any further information. I found First Defense Firearms while searching for a SIG Sauer pistol. After reading the reviews and speaking with them on the phone, I drove 90 miles to their store. I was blown away by their customer service! They greeted me when I walked in (even though the store had six other customers at the time) and introduced themselves to me. As our conversation progressed, they remembered my name (and used it). Their entire focus was on ensuring that I had all of the information that I needed to make an informed purchase and to be sure that I got the gun that exactly fit my needs. They throughly reviewed the care and maintenance of my purchase and didn't pressure me to purchase any of the cleaning/maintenance supplies (which I did purchase from them). Dennis (the owner) offers various gun safety/personal protection courses and I plan to drive back with my family so we can take the courses from him. The entire process from walking through the door to going out the door could not have been more pleasant and enjoyable. If they ever franchise their store, they will put every other gun shop out of business. I will drive up to First Defense Firearms for ALL of my future firearms purchases-it is well worth the trip! read more

I took the Handgun 1 course on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017. This course is very beneficial for anybody with limited experience with pistols, although people with more experience can still learn plenty of information and techniques, such as I did. Dennis and his staff did an amazing job keeping a fun and safe training environment, as well as working with all the students to enhance everyone's skill. I'm looking forward to taking many more courses through First Defense. read more

Been to many gun businesses in Massachusetts and this place is the best and only place I would recommend to people in need of guns or accessories........ only down falls are the place is small sometimes pretty busy and not a big fan of there online website. Staff is very friendly and informative. Price of guns seem pretty competitive compared to similar shops in Massachusetts, not high or low but reasonable compared to the competition. Have not bought many accessories, only have purchased ammo and guns. read more

Legitimately not a better firearms store in mass. Came down with the whole family to shop for a concealed carry firearm for myself. Dennis and his staff couldnt have been better. As soon as we walked in, my young daughters were greeted like we were walking into a family memeber's house. Israel gave my girls m&m's and hi-fives. I was unsure at first; most shops shoot you the stink eye off the bat for bringing in kids. Dennis helped my wife pick a concealed holster that was right for her body type and typical clothing choices. Which is rare for most gun shops. My wife was impressed. She usually hates "gun shops" because she says they make her feel uncomfortable and out of place because its a "boy's world". Dennis helped her find a holster that not only made her every day carry firearm invisible, but comfortable and safe to carry. I ended up buying a new firearm for myself. Dennis covered every angle. He helped me narrow down my selection based on size, caliber, striker fired vs hammer fired, we even covered sight visibility, stress tests, and different grips. Full disclosure; after narrowing down my selection, i did a quick google search on my pick. Fdf's price was almost $100 less than every other price i found online. No brainer. Every penny counts with a young family. Legitimately couldnt be happier that I found this place. I'll definitely be back for my future firearms needs read more

I had been traveling up to Four Seasons in Woburn for all of my needs. Just so happened to come upon First D only a few minutes from my home. I found Dennis & Shelly to be both knowledgible & courteous when it came to new customers. Their shop is stocked and has good variety. This place is great thanks to both of them. read more

First off, I looked around at some of the bigger chains and the experience was not pleasant! Being a 1st time buyer I felt like a criminal when dealing with larger chain stores. I live local and decided to check out 1st defense. I couldn't have been more pleased! The staff was very helpful and made me feel very comfortable with my purchase. Very outgoing! My wife then returned a month after I bought my gun to get her own.....we also purchased gift certificates to have my mother and father in-law go to the all day safety course, they too were very pleased with the instruction. Customer service really is key to a successful business. Great place to shop, prices are comparable to other shops and the hours are convenient for the 9-5 worker. Check them out! read more

Newly licensed and wanting to purchase my first firearm; I wanted to find a place that would be friendly and helpful. I was looking to avoid what I have read about some of the other Mass stores that seem to feature rude and poor customer service. There on-line reputation was spot-on. I was treated with professionalism and expertise. I was explained options and given the recommendation that i was in need of. I am positive that I will be back. read more

Took a Basic Firearms Safety class hosted by Dennis, and received a ton of information along with great hands on training. We covered the basics and then some. He has a lot of field of experience so if you're looking for someone who knows what they're talking about, he's definitely the right guy to go to. 10/10, would recommend over any other course where you would only learn the bare minimum. read more
