I have been with Lorraine for almost a month now and can safely say that she has completely changed my life and point of view on food. She provides such a comfortable and safe environment to talk about not just food, but my cognitive and mental outlook on my life. Upon my consultation, she made sure to note all aspects of my health and past eating habits, and created a delicious customized meal plan based on my preferences, as I am primarily plant based. These plans also integrate meal prep into them, which has reduced my snacking tendencies, as I can just grab my prepped meals from the fridge. I have fallen in love with cooking at home again and get excited about each meal as they are all so diverse and completely satiate me. It's crazy how quickly my taste preferences have changed and crave her recipes. The 3-month plan I opted for includes weekly check-ins, where Lorraine doesn't mention calories or weight every time, but more of how I am feeling mentally based on the foods I am eating. She is also sure to educate me on certain foods to avoid or gravitate towards which can positively affect my lifestyle. I remember warning her during my first appointment that I was stubborn just so that she wouldn't expect much of me. Even though I needed to improve my eating habits, I didn't want Shana to come in and create a storm in my life. I did not want anyone dictating what I could and could not do; what I could or could not eat. After my initial consultation, I felt like I was still on two feet. I felt even more grounded than before. She gave me the information and tools to reach my goals, but I still always feel I have control over my choices. Rather than create the havoc I feared before meeting with her, she made it all simpler. She is positive and encouraging and that gives me confidence and allows me to make better choices for myself in reaching my goals. She got me in control of my decisions and I am now proud of the choices I make. I like that Shana doesn't just deal with food; she helped me improve my fitness and workouts, too. We go over what I could have done better and how I will succeed in the future. I love that Shana doesn't judge. I feel completely comfortable explaining what I have done, how I feel and what I plan to do. She's easy to talk to and very encouraging. She helps plan out my food and fitness goals. And she's really sincere about it all. She goes out of her way to accommodate your schedule, answer questions after-hours and motivate between sessions. I think I most enjoyed learning about myself during this process. I know now what I have to eat during one day, what makes a healthy meal and what foods to avoid that make me feel physically ill and also emotionally guilty. I now expect more from myself, and that makes me feel like a better, grown person. I like that when I'm feeling off track, meeting with Shana immediately inspires me to stay focused.     I don't know how I can ever thank Tina enough for how positively she has impacted my life. I have…read moreknown and worked with Tina for the past 21 years, so it will be difficult to keep this review short, believe me, but I will try my best! I first engaged Tina as my physical strength and weight trainer. Her exercise training sessions are amazing in many respects. First, she has kept me in very good shape through her expertise, encouragement, and unending enthusiasm. As a musician I am very protective of my hands and wrists. Tina is always sensitive to this and modifies any exercise that might unduly stress them. This next thing will be hard to believe, but we have never exactly repeated a single exercise session in 21 years! I kid you not. Her imagination and vast knowledge allows her to come up with seemingly endless variations of exercises. Working out with Tina is never boring or rote! At the beginning of our sessions I was suffering from sinus problems and weight gain. Through a series of food eliminations we discovered that I was highly sensitive to dairy products. By suggesting alternative nondairy foods rich in calcium, I was able for the first time in my life to experience the joys of having clear sinuses. As a bonus I almost immediately started to drop weight. For 20 years I have maintained a healthy weight for my height and body type. Tina is also an expert chef and, as with her exercise instruction, has an endless supply of delicious and healthy recipes to share. The basic diet she created for me years ago is still the template I use for cooking to this day. Having turned 60 years old a little while back, I tested as having a rather high glucose level. I was so surprised, but found out that many people my age do. It's very common. Gone unchecked, however, it can lead to more serious consequences like diabetes. Tina assured me that with a few modifications to my diet I could easily reverse the diagnosis. Within 3 months, by limiting refined sugar and many simple carbohydrates, my glucose level returned to a normal rate. No medications required! I LOVE food. I LOVE to cook and to eat. (See my Yelp profile.) Thanks to Tina, at age 63, I am in excellent health, maintaining my weight, and enjoying healthy foods. Tina taught me how to love healthy food and create gourmet meals that I not only enjoy myself, but have no hesitation whatsoever to serve my guests to their total satisfaction and delight. Tina is a rare find in life. She is intelligent, kind, talented, and compassionate. I could not recommend her services more highly!

    For almost five years now, I've been suffering from bloating and vomiting that have impeded on a…read morenumber of important things in my life. I never understood what it was--I just tried to learn how to live with it. Nevertheless, I met Tina and she introduced me to something called an "Elimination Diet" where for three weeks you cut out some major ingredients (wheat, corn, soy, pork, beef, refined sugars, etc) and later on reintroduce them separately to see whether or not a specific one induces a reaction. By now you're probably thinking, "But I need my cake," or "Who the hell would agree to that?" But as Tina once told me, "Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures. It should not be painful or frightening. So let's clean out that gut!" By the end of my journey, I can truly say that meeting up with this well-seasoned RD is one of the greatest investments you could ever make--just ask my gut. All jokes aside, Tina sincerely cares about the health of her "patients" (for lack of a better word) and she delivers messages that truly resonate with you. There is no amount of thanks I could ever give to demonstrate my gratitude. But for the sake of this review: THANK YOU, TINA. YOU HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE!

Jenna is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and has great tips and tricks for the experienced cook and patience for those of us who struggle to use a stove knob. Her recipes are prepared beforehand based on your tastes and are really healthy, delicious, and easy to prepare. I felt like I was on a cooking show. Her kitchen is professional and well-stocked with tools. She is a great conversationalist and keeps the session moving at the right pace, based on the meals you are preparing. The class was not only educational, it was a lot of fun, and definitely a great reprieve from my typical Sunday afternoons spent studying in front of a computer. Jenna did a great job of overseeing the prepping and cooking of the four dishes we had on the menu for the night. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to manage a kitchen full of amateur chefs (half of whom rarely cook at home)...but somehow she managed to do it with grace! Jenna was extremely patient with and open to all of our questions as well. In particular, I thought she did a great job of incorporating the 'why' behind her answers to questions like: What ingredients do you always have on hand? How do you know which spices go well together? What goes into a vegetable stock? I really appreciated how Jenna tailored the class specifically for a group of grad students, focusing on: increasing the nutritional value of our meals, saving time in the kitchen, and all the while cutting down on costs. Three things that I know I DEFINITELY need to do more of! I walked away from the class with an arsenal of new cooking tips, a full belly (plus a few containers of leftovers), and a packet of recipes from the class. Three hours very, very well spent!
