Tl;dr DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I hired Pinky's Moving Service for close to $5,000 to pack my apartment in Tallahassee and move my items to Atlanta. The owner came to my place and walked the space, taking notes as he looked in every drawer, cabinet, closet, under the bed and outside. It was very important to me to use a Black or woman-owned local business, but this was the biggest mistake of the year. This is probably my 20th move and the shortest distance, as I've moved across the US and overseas several times, but this is the WORST MOVE EVER. I wasn't present for the move because of a death in my family, but my best friend was there as my proxy, and another friend would be in Atlanta. When I told Pinky I wouldn't be there, he was upset, saying he doesn't "want a bunch of women in his way during the move." Ahead of the move, he changed the dates from what we discussed, saying his office should have told me a breakdown of events. It never happened. They also didn't have payment links with the invoices, he wanted to stop by and collect cash. That should have been my first set of red flags. Day of the move, his crew arrives with a small box truck. I had a 850 square foot apartment, with a lot of stuff (which again Pinky saw everything before he gave me a quote). They ran out of boxes, used all of the shipping tape and bubble wrap I had for my business, and drank most of my expensive plant-based protein shakes without asking. Side note, empty bottles of the drink were left in the front yard.I also found they ate more than a dozen packets of gummy bears from my cabinet and put the empty bags back in the gummy bear box. They told my friend to stay out of their way, with Pinky telling her he's been doing this for 15 years and he's going to take good care of me and my stuff. WELL.... They didn't wrap the lamps, and most of them are now broken. They didn't wrap my king sized mattress, which looked like it was dragged through the dirt, they "packed" the spices from my kitchen cabinet in a tarp, which they left on the garage floor in the new house, they "packed" my pots and pans in the dirty kitchen trash can, my mirrored desk has a massive crack in it. There was a thin layer of bubble wrap (which is only suitable for shipping paintings - not protecting glass.) The boxes all looked like they'd been through a war. The crew left my apartment without packing up the entire kitchen, left items in several closets and in cabinets, they left my vacuum cleaners, art on the walls, and put random stuff in closets which my friend found after they left. And when I called Pinky to tell him, he said "don't call me no more," also that I was getting mad "for no reason" and that's what happens when you have minorities for customers. He also said my friend was getting me riled up and shouldn't tell me what his guys were doing with my belongings that they were supposed to be packing. My TV wasn't boxed, artwork was just tossed unprotected in boxes that weren't even sealed- some with kitchen jars and shoes on top of them, my plants had things thrown on top of them, it tools ages to find my clothes because they weren't put in wardrobe boxes as promised. They pretty much left everything in the garage. Because they ran out of room in the small truck, my friend had to make two trips to Atlanta in my SUV with the things they didn't take. The next day, my friend found an attachment to my vacuum cleaner in the driveway! Other parts of the second vacuum were found in the master bedroom - took a while to find the actual cleaner. I found parts of my big storage rack in the driveway and front yard of my house a month later! My garment rack is broken and missing a wheel, and so many pieces of broken glass were found in my apartment from things they dropped as they "packed." They also broke a cabinet door in the apartment kitchen. Check out the pictures and see the finished product of this move. Recently hired Pinky's to move my stuff from 2 separate storage locations to my home. This was done over 2 separate dates but I had the same movers on both. The movers were nice, polite, prompt and VERY quick and efficient .....nothing was broken or damaged. The pricing was comparable to other local companies ......in fact Pinky gave me a break on pricing when I added the second pickup location. Disgusted with Pinky's Moving Service of Tallahassee. After signing an agreed-upon contract, he wanted to charge me an additional $1,000. I thought he would threaten to cancel while everything was loaded on the truck and I did not have time to look for another mover, so I regrettably gave Trent another $500. His movers showed up a day past the promised time at the new residence and late at night, he insisted that I pay for their hotel (some nerve!), I refused. He ruined my $12,000 dining-room set with a gouge on the top of the table and broke one of the chairs, a fennel is missing from the curio. Trent said he had insurance yet REFUSED to compensate (perhaps he lied about having insurance). For months he would argue back and forth on the phone and threatened to sue me for simply for seeking reimbursement for the damage he caused. The owner is combative, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for damaged property. If anyone wants to do a class-action lawsuit, count me in. read more

Pinky's moving service is a complete rip off, scam artist and unprofessional. We agreed upon a price but on arrival pinky sent extra guys demanding a higher rate to "get it done faster". The only reason he'd need it done faster is to do more jobs in one day and increase his profits. His men were unprofessional and reckless. They damaged my mothers walls and busted her chandelier, ripped down our cable wire, damaged 4 walls in our new home, dragged an antique dresser on its top across our wooden floor, damaged a chair, an end table, all of my glass baking dishes, my crystal punch bowl and platters, dented the side of my stove in so badly it would stand straight, made sexual remarks. Upon notifying Mr Pinky off damages and I simply wanted a partial refund to pay for repairs to my antique dresser, Mr Pinky audibly verbally abused his men calling them racial slurs through the phone. The movers were 6 hours late bringing the truck and when they got here there were only two movers + the poor driver - after driving more than 6 hours - to unload 100 boxes. The price I was quoted was for keeping my furniture for a few days because of a remodel. He ended up offering to put it in the garage to save that storage for the truck. But then wanted to do an up charge to move the furniture in. When I addressed this, he said that he moved Items that I had not even packed up and he was making another trip. This was included in the quote. However, those items were not supposed to be moved as I was going to do them, but left furniture that was supposed to be moved . Also kept saying he moved "500" lb plants, that he was aware of when it did the walk through estimate. My washing machine was damaged/dented on top with the inner tube twisted, he blamed that on a friend when the appliance repair guy stated those machines require a stabilezer to move. DREADFUL!!! It was awhile ago, but I will NEVER forget this experience: - I had only 24hrs after they left my premises in which to identify & submit a formal report about any damages they caused. After 24hrs they would take no responsibility whatsoever. - Packers taped up several large garment boxes with nothing inside but empty hangers, so many clothes remained unpacked & they said they must have more boxes. When I returned from getting boxes, I found that cash had been taken (my mistake for leaving it where it could be found); there were certain beautiful items that I never saw again. - One manager told me it was necessary that I pay for a second truck & a second crew, neither of which was ever used. - Another manager followed me into a closet to tell me I had to pay an additional $500. - Two large prices of furniture were broken before my eyes & they said to use super glue. - Owner refused to have men look for mislaid key unless I paid $300 for the time. - When I called to inquire about missing items, the owner was extremely rude & came very near to cursing me. They are the cheapest and best in Tallahassee. We have used them three times including two inter state moves to North Carolina. His men are very respectful and will take care of your goods. Pinky's Moving Service has been wonderful to work with both times they have help us. With two children in Tallahassee attending college, Pinky's Moving has been useful and professional. They moved my one child from a 2-story home to a 1-story, and they moved my other child's stuff from a storage shed to a house. They had lots of large furniture, and Pinky's even assembled my sons' beds for them :) Both times Pinky's offered amazing pricing, great service, and all the items arrived to their destination in perfect condition. Hands down the worst moving company we have ever dealt with. Hired to pack and move us from Tallahassee to Jacksonville, the company did nothing they promised in their sales spiel and created much damage and stress. They used a truck that leaked so there was damage to boxes and goods; the truck lacked all the proper equipment to move ( ramp etc) and the drivers ran out of gas in Jacksonville requiring our help to rescue them; they kept trying to change the terms of our move- from this day to that day, even though we had to move on the contracted dates; Trent kept asking for prepay in cash which of course we refused, but he nonetheless ran our credit card before the move was complete and we had approved; they were late to show up, when they showed up; there was damage to multiple pieces of furniture and household goods; they scratched the wood floors when moving the piano. They were truly a nightmare. This occurred the week of April 25-May 1, 2022. I rarely post a review unless something is great. But I hope no one hires this man to move them. I found him totally dishonest and as we wait for a damage claim to be processed, he has still not returned calls or emails. read more

When they were moving my stuff, I guess I did learn my lesson the hard way. They must've been the absolute worst moving company to call. They reneged on our verbal agreement about accepting payment from an agency that was trying to help me, but not until after the move. They did come out on very short notice, so I'll give them that. Soon after they'd started, the boss got a call. He said they were needed somewhere else, but that they wouldn't mix any of my belongings that were already on the truck and they'd be back quickly. Instead, they were gone for a long time and I ended up missing the bus to my new apartment because of it. There was only an estimate ever done over the phone -- no quote even offered, only the charges when they were done that I objected to and still object to -- before everything was packed because the woman said they would help do that when I was asking her about their services since I'm in a wheelchair. There was never a contract for the items they needed to move and what was actually moved -- again, no quote, only the charges when they were done that I objected to and still object to. One of my former downstairs neighbors even came up to help. He also said he'd be more than willing to be a witness to what he called "a really crap job". Even worse, I discovered that there were many items that were missing or broken and I was also missing the main piece of my 3 pc desk. Several times. I tried to confront the boss about my missing and broken furniture and belongings, but he refused to do anything and threatened to call the cops if I didn't leave. Even worse, they did get some of my belongings mixed up with another client. There's no telling what they did with the belongings of other clients that they'd lost. It would cost me over $1k to replace the belongings of mine that were damaged or lost. Believe me when I say that I tell everyone I know what they've done to me and others and I definitely don't recommend them at all. This is a fair warning to anybody needing movers that if they use this business, they should be prepared for the same fate that others have suffered. No, I am not the only one they screwed. I don't know how he's been able to get away with this. Especially when I see other reviews claiming the same crappy work was done. And for all this, they took my entire month's SSDI check? It's my only income, so I had nothing. I had to borrow hundreds of dollars just to pay my rent that month. BEWARE!! THIS IS HOW HE TREATED A VERY-LOW INCOME, DISABLED. SINGLE MOM IN A WHEELCHAIR. There's business then there's treating very unsuspecting people & their belongings like crap. You would think that this business would treat each and every one of their clients like they are partially responsible for the roofs over their heads, food on their tables, and keeping this business's doors open because we are. It's been about 2 yrs and I'm still having to catch up financially, including having loss and what seemed like intentional destruction of property. I would have submitted this at the time but I thought I already had. If there was an option for negative stars, I'd put them. They even make you sign blank forms that barely even have any ink on them. I'm a domestic violence victim with PTSD, Anxiety and Bi-Polar Depression. Trent's aggressive, but still smooth-talking attitude made me feel overwhelmed, extremely anxious, powerless, and unable to get my objections resolved until I signed the papers a worker nervously thrust of me (even the page that there was barely any ink on). The worker acted like he was going to have a panic attack if I didn't sign them right then & there. All the while I kept trying to find out about the rest of my belongings (and the broken ones missing pieces) while being loudly spoken over, saying they would take care of everything. They never did and now I'm out for over $1k, which is more than it cost me and more than I can afford. Now I have to move again for better job opportunities and I'm too scared to hire another moving company that might screw me over as royally as pinkies did or worse, since I'll be moving out-of-town, so now I'm not sure how I'm going to get it done. **************************************************************** If he responds, he'll probably say something similar to this not being an accurate portrayal of the company and I'm just trying to discredit them like another review here. Every word is true and accurate as written. There wasn't even enough room to write everything that happened. His B team shouldn't leave things broken, damaged, or lost any more than any other team -- or clients should be warned ahead of time. As far as discrediting his business, that's what sites like Yelp are for -- giving commendations because of good experiences and discrediting because of bad experiences -- so after everything I went through because of this, I hope that anyone else with a bad experience also writes a review. read more

Their team was very efficient and prompt. They came in checked all the rooms that were going out, the driver gave they three guys their tasks and assembled a load point. The move was estimated at 4 hours, they got it done in 3. I shopped around to local services from similar providers, and their prices we within $'s of each other, their team had availability on the day I needed moving, so we went with them. Reading previous reviews we were a bit skeptical, but all of the reviews were from several years ago, it seems as if they have learned from the past and are running a much better service now. read more

DO NOT USE PINKY'S MOVING!! Without a doubt, the WORST experience I have ever had with a company. The movers are careless & do not care for your items while moving. Many things will be bent or seriously broken. The movers aren't even the problem...the owner, was so rude we were literally shocked at how he spoke to me. He raises his voice, goes on a rant when you ask a question, will call you & very rudely raise his voice & then THREATEN to charge your card more then proceed to say "I am done with this and I'm not talking anymore" and hang up. At 11am I called, they said they messed up the schedule and I would be moved at 1:30 & said they were taking $50.00 off (I didn't ask for a discount, they offered). I had to call again at 2:30 since they weren't here. They arrived at 3:00. They were careless with my items (not the point i'm trying to make, I am still in shock at the owners actions, attitude and how he conducts business) I get a call when I'm driving to the new place where we are dropping off. He calls me to get final payment, I told him about the $50 off for being five hours late. "I mean...it rained all week we are catching up." I then spoke & said, you were the one who offered the $50 off. He reluctantly did it. The movers are finishing up, broke a very previous item, which I saw him drop & he even told me he dropped it. The owner calls, my partner answered since I was moving & my phone was out in the living room. He brought me the phone and the owners voice was LOUD & extremely disrespectful - told me to "read the contract" which I did...and it stated if they broke anything they would see if they could repair it or you would get $100.00. He said "I MEAN I ALREADY GAVE YOU $50 OFF WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT" I did NOT ask for the $50.00 off for them forgetting about my move, the owner OFFERED it. He ended the phone call. He then called me AGAIN, because I needed to sign a "they finished the job" paper work. He was SO rude, his voice was raised when he called "SO YOU NEVER SIGNED THE CONTRACT" I was very confused; because I signed a contract when I sent in a down payment. I asked what he meant; "IF YOU DONT SIGN IT I WILL CHARGE YOUR CARD THAT $50 EXTRA". Still confused, I asked what contract he was talking about and said, well the mover just handed me this release contract, oh man...did his attitude change. Super relaxed, "Oh Ms. Laura, he just gave it to you, I am so sorry Ms. Laura he was supposed to give it to you in the beginning of the move, yea sign that, I apologize Ms. Laura" I then asked about the broken item, and then the attitude and loud voice came back... I used Pinky's today for my move. I met with Trent last week so that he could look at the items that needed to be moved and provided an estimate. First impression was that he was courteous however he was 45 minutes late to our appointment. He gave me an estimate onsite that was high but he was willing to work with me. I received the contract and agreement and the amount the we agreed upon was incorrect. They quickly revised the estimate and resent. This move was cumbersome as we moved from one house to another then to a storage unit although this was all discussed with Trent during our meeting. Today was moving day. They movers were almost an hour late but they did call to let me know. When they arrived they were AMAZING! They were nice, helpful and professional. We did have one item (end table) break during the process but they did the best they could to put it back together. One of the employees mentioned that we should have been charged an up-charge based on the items moved at the second stop. It was clear that Trent did not relay moving details and items going to the storage unit to his employees. Even with the lack of communication from their boss they were still professional and willing to help! At the third stop (storage unit), I was worried that the items wouldn't fit but Pinky's team did great playing tetris with my furniture and got everything into the unit. I was very happy with the service I received and tipped each mover! I just got home and received a nasty call from Trent. He was aggressive and argumentative at the fact that I did not let the company know that storage unit was on the 3rd floor. I was assigned my unit at 9:00 am this morning. I was not told that I needed to inform the company of where (which floor) the storage unit was located. I wasn't asked during the estimate meeting either. If I was told I needed to notify them I would have. I wasn't even able to explain this while on the phone with Trent because he didn't let me speak! Trent was extremely rude and unprofessional! He said it was my fault that other customer's moves were now behind even though they showed up an hour late for my scheduled move. The storage facility did have elevators and carts. It took the gentleman two trips to bring everything up. We were considering using Pinky's in the future and even discussed our next move with the movers. After the call from Trent we will definitely not use Pinky's in the future and will NOT recommend them to family and friends. Trent came out dressed very professionally, and provided us with a quote. He insisted that we let him know the other quotes that we receive so that he could try to win our business. I was initially impressed. I gave him our other quotes and he matched the lowest quote that we received. Moving day arrived and his crew came to pack up our stuff. I was horrified by their packing. They basically wrapped everything in plastic wrap. They would take lamps (with light bulb screwed in, and lamp shade attached) and wrap it up and throw it in a box. They filled an entire box with my glassware (some glasses were wrapped with plastic wrap, some were not). About 30% of our glasses were broken when we unpacked everything. We called him to complain and he came out and gave them a chat. Things improved slightly, but overall this was the worst packing/moving experience we have ever had. We ended up with damaged lampshades, broken dishes/ glassware, and bent stuff. Trent said that this was his "B team" not his "A team" because the quote was so low. If we had known the service would be compromised because of price, we would have gone with another company. Also--they broke a ceiling fan light globe and Trent said he would replace it for us. We never heard from him again, despite leaving him several voicemails and calls. read more

We tried again and this time we did receive a call back. We scheduled for Friday 12/28 at 10:00 am for someone to come out and provide an estimate. They never showed up nor did anyone call to let us know they would not be showing up. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a professional moving experience. My experience was terrible! I scheduled well in advance,notified them of each specific item I wanted moved,the location of all my items,signed their contract,paid their requested deposit and called to verify everything was a go the day before which was confirmed. But on moving day we were hit with a completely different story. I'll start with the good: the moving crew is wonderful,respectful and hardworking. They are led by Mario who was great and ensured all my stuff did end up getting moved despite everything. They also repeatedly apologized for the situation and how we were treated. The bad was the owner,Trent who showed up,walked into my home without as much of a hello or introduction demanding more money from me (after I had completed payment that day and signed off on all paperwork) because my one bedroom apartment was not what he expected. Pinky's did not want to honor the price the company quoted me and had had me sign a contract for. The owner yelled at me and my mother for almost an hour delaying the move until I agreed to give him more money as he knew I needed the job done. He was unprofessional,disrespectful,and dishonest. He ripped up my check and then asked me to write a new one,mistreated his moving crew (I had to go get the poor guys drinks as he never returned with them) and continued to harass my senior citizen mother and I through the loading process. The owner also promised his workers a 40% tip which I never discussed or agree to. Moving is already often stressful enough,my experience was very messy and traumatic. Proceed with caution,if you have no interaction with the owner,I would say you may be fine,the receptionist who scheduled my move and the moving crew were great for us. However,if you have any hiccup that requires you to work with the owner or he decides to show up and change the agreement at the last minute,save yourself the frustration and harassment and book with another moving company. read more

The two workers showed up a head of schedule and they worked continuous and hard until the furniture was disassembled and loaded on the truck. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. I literally just called them asking for a move tomorrow (which I have done before with other companies and no problem.) No exaggeration, they said they would only move my stuff for $1/sq. foot. I live in a 1 bedroom, $1000 sq ft place. So they literally just asked me to pay them $1000 to move only my heavy furniture. When I said "no thank you another company quoted me about $200 (campus bellhops by the way) they actually hung up on me. Never in my life have I ever received this kind of customer service. We had a horrible move, and in addition to our furniture being trashed, the attitude of the owner was rude, intimidating and extremely unprofessional. We had three estimates. Absolutely the worst moving experience. Asked about moving insurance and threatened to report me to their insurance carrier for fraud! I explained I couldn't afford to replace anything that broke, so insurance made sense. He said that all claims for damage would now be void. Quoted me with optional storage, but didn't tell me that it wasn't really optional. Team demanded lunch-even told me how many pizza I was to order. Paid extra to move my sleep number bed and I had to argue with them to put it back together. My boxes were all clearly marked and yet so many boxes were in the wrong rooms or left in the garage because that was the easiest place to DROP them. Several items were damaged or not delivered and I notified them with 24 hours and they told me they didn't know what had happened to my stuff and to basically get over it. Working with Trent was horrible. He was threatening and demeaning. Still finding plastic wrap that they didn't bother to remove! They cash your checks quickly, including the one demanded for a tip. Very disappointing experience. Moved into Golden Eagle and was left with scratched brand new hardwood floors, mattresses that were soiled from having been moved on the truck bed with no protective wrapping, and damaged dressers. 3 months later, we have no resolution or follow up. Pinky's has far exceeded any other moving service I have used and they demonstrated their dedication to service by being organized, efficient, and careful with my belongings. Pinky's diligently packed my 3 bedroom/2.5 bath house in two days and loaded the truck in minimal time. While in Dallas, they were very accommodating when we had to offload my household goods in two separate locations (apartment/storage unit). The previous reviews must have the wrong guys because I had a great experience. There were no damages during my move and the service was great. Very friendly and everything went smoothly. Pinky's moving and storage provided us with a smooth, easy, worry-free move. Trent came to the house to do a walk through and provided a reasonable quote for our local move. We then received a lower quote from a competitor. When I explained this to Trent, he worked with us and matched the competitor's pricing. HOWEVER, Pinky's provided top notch service which was not promised by their competitor. Even though we moved only 2 miles away, all of our furniture was padded and wrapped, and special attention was given to a delicate piece of furniture. All this at no extra cost. Pinky's provided 5 strong friendly movers who worked tirelessly until we were all moved in. Trent provided personalized attention and support prior to, during and after the move. Thanks Pinky's!
