There were two key things that I learned from attempting to hire Elite Movers. First, demand that any moving company you request a quote from completes an onsite visit to your home when providing the estimate. Second, ask the moving company specifically - will your team work in the rain? Key take aways for Elite Movers: - Do not hire this company if you are selling a home - Do not hire this company if you have a contract with a buyer - Do not hire this company if you are on a schedule - Do not hire this company if a rain delay will impact your sale - Do not hire this company if you want to work with a professional organization that will go the extra mile to make things right and ensure that the job is finished. What a disappointing experience we had with Elite Movers. The day of our scheduled move, I received a call from the foreman around 8:00AM stating that they were concerned about moving us that day because it was raining. They stated that they did not want our items to get wet. Understandable and greatly appreciated, but unfortunately, we did not have a choice. I explained that we were on a clock - the final walk through with the buyer was scheduled for 4:00PM that afternoon. The goal was to have the house empty before the final walkthrough and be ready for closing the next morning at 11:00AM. The foreman was totally understanding and said they would come to the house to see if there was a way to move us and keep our items dry. I was concerned that maybe this was the opinion of one person and that the company might not even realize this was the direction the conversation was going in. I called the company's phone number and spoke to Sean. I explained the situation and Sean immediately started side stepping my concerns and stated I needed to talk to a team member with Elite Movers. I realized that the 'sales team' that answers is actually an answering service that does not work for Elite Movers. They are booking agents. I asked to connect to a manager or owner with Elite Movers. I was transferred to Luc, who is a local Tallahassee resident and one of the founders of the company. I walked through the situation; we talked about the timeline, and I explained that our closing was approximately 24 hours away and we were under contract to sell the house. Luc explained our items would get wet in the rain and that if we wanted to move that day, we would have to sign a damage waiver. Not ideal - but better than nothing. The team arrived with two moving trucks and four movers around 8:30AM. They attempted to back the truck up the driveway and realized they did not have sufficient clearance to make it to the garage door. They told me they would not be able to help us. And left. I called Luc back and said 'your team just left'. Then the story changed. Luc explained that Elite Movers does not permit their employees to work in rain due to the potential for liability from a slip and fall. Keep in mind that now we've been told they can't move us because they don't want our stuff to get wet. Then it was signing a waiver. Now the story has changed a third time and they can't work in the rain. Red flags everywhere, but I'm getting that desperate sinking feeling in my stomach and trying to hold this deal together. My next thought is let's give them a chance to make this right. We started chatting about the options for moving during the afternoon. The weather app showed a break in the rain after 3:00PM. Luc explained that his weather app showed rain all day. Luc also explained that their team can't work past 5:00PM so they wouldn't be able to start a move out that late in the day. Luc offered the day after our closing as the next best option (entirely skipping over the day of closing). After we agreed that wouldn't work, it was very clear that Elite Movers was literally backing out of their agreement the day of the move. They were not willing to make it right, not willing to work late, not willing to start early, not willing to find a solution. And they seemed quite comfortable simply walking away. I asked for and received a cancelation notice from their system. Luckily, after 3 hours of making calls, we found out that there ARE professional moving companies in Tallahassee. These companies are NOT locally owned, they DO work in the rain, they DO work past 5:00PM, they WILL start a move late in the day, they WILL arrive early the next morning to finish the job, they CAN add extra movers, extra trucks, and extra equipment on short notice, and they ARE professionals at what they do. If these are the qualities you are looking for, call Browning Moving and Storage. They are a United Van Lines company based out of Lake City with an office in Tallahassee. Also - their trucks had sufficient clearance to back into the driveway up the steep hill. Elite moved us last month. They came in the lowest for the move (almost half) and did an excellent job. They were able to get their truck down a difficult driveway situation where another mover would not attempt it. The workers were competent and professional and did not change the quote at the end of the job. They had to pick up furniture in two locations which also was not a problem with extra charging. No damages to belongings, they placed everything where it was supposed to be. Extremely happy with Elite. We have moved several times during the years with college moves, moving out of rentals to two different homes. This was the least stressful for me! read more

Their movers stole many items from me and my children. I was very careful not to falsely accuse them waiting until I was absolutely sure there was no other explanation for the disappearance of so many items. I immediately noticed that two large rugs from my bedroom and my oldest son's bedroom was missing. I reached out to the head mover inquiring about it and he claimed they never moved any rugs. This was the first sign that something was fishy. Fast forward to 5 months later and I've discovered many bathroom and kitchen items gone as well as lots of workout equipment. I finally stopped gaslighting myself and reached out to the company. They responded that if it is beyond one week of your move that you cannot file a claim for any lost items. They also went on to try and hold my storage company liable when their movers took my things to and from the storage unit--both times without me being present. So they know there was ample opportunity for them to take things. I also learned that some of my things were sold when I noticed it appearing as if my children's TV was connected to the wifi despite their fire stick being one of the things missing. Apparently whoever has it now uses xfinity as well and I was able to see their IP & home address. I just wanted to warn others that this company now employs thieves and their one week claims policy pretty much enables them because you aren't likely to notice the kinds of things they steal being missing within one week. Even if you do you might suspect they're in boxes you haven't gotten to. Should a week go by and you become sure your things are gone you will simply be robbed by people you let in your home. read more

It was just dumb luck that we were next to their truck and we called them and they were very responsive even when we had to change the move date three times. Closing date kept changing. I've used Elite Movers' moving services for three of my moves so far & there's a reason why I keep coming back! These guys are great. Excellent service every time. I recently used their storage services and it was such a stress free service. I would recommend giving them ample time to schedule moving your items out of the storage as it's a vault that is only accessible to them. I made the mistake of not scheduling this early enough; I needed access to my items by 11am but they didn't have a crew available to unload until 3pm. HOWEVER, despite it being my mistake the guys STILL managed to accommodate my move at an earlier time than 3pm & got my truck was fully loaded & all my items secured before 2pm!! I'm telling you, these guys really do pride themselves in providing the best service they can every time & I love them for that. 10/10 recommend always. read more

I hate leaving negative reviews and almost feel bad to do it but this was the single worst moving experience of my life. The 3 movers that were sent had no idea what they were doing and loaded my Uhaul so badly that heavy boxes were positioned on top of light ones, it was haphazardly arranged and so many of my belongings were broken. The entire back of an antique dresser given to me by one of my closest friends who has now passed was broken. My daughter's Barbie dream house was broken when one of the movers wasn't looking where he was going and literally stepped on it. So many large pictures and posters I had framed had were broken, and I had wrapped them all - they were just packed in so poorly. One of my movers was great, and honest, and said none of them had been doing this for more than 3 weeks and urged me to file a claim against the company. He could clearly see what the main guy was doing was a mess. I had specifically asked Luc the owner to send experienced movers and he ensured me all of them were. They charged me for an extra hour they spent rearranging the truck. Unbelievably disappointing. I was heartbroken to unpack and see all of my expensive and sentimental things broken. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This morning I had an appointment for a move at 9am. When the movers showed up they all nicely introduced themselves, we went over everything that needed to be moved and they went straight to work. They are amazing at planning everything and making sure everything is secure in the truck. For an extra $15 gas fee they will make a stop if you need to pick some stuff up from another location. The gentlemen took great care of my stuff and wrapped everything that needed to be wrapped. You can truly tell these guys are hardworking. This is not my first experience with them, they helped one of my good friends move (different group of guys). And I can say the same for both of my experiences. read more

Good moving company. I called around for a quick move and no one even called back, except for Elite Campus. They are student-based, but they did a great job for me, even though I'm not a student. They were quick and professional. All of my items were handled gently and delivered very quickly. They had excellent communication and were very punctual. Elite Campus Movers showed up on time, were cheerful and friendly, moved us in really quickly and were very fairly priced. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that some of our stuff was broken (which could've happened on the drive; we rented our own truck) and there was a little damage to the walls and floors of our new place. These guys were awesome! From the booking, to loading, to invoicing, Elite movers were extremely professional! A team of 3 were hired to load our U-Haul truck. They loaded our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with a 2 car garage (full of stuff) home in 2.5 hours. They wrapped all of our furniture well to insure a safe move. They packed the truck so well that hardly anything moved on our move out of state and nothing was damaged or broken upon unpacking. The guys worked very well as a team and were extremely courteous and friendly. We definitely recommend Elite if you need anything moved! read more

Started out good responsive, easy to set up the move but went downhill with service. They were hired to move my parents who are in their 60s, things were to be moved from a storage unit and items also stored at my address. All of which were brought here from NY on a single Budget truck. I was told since we were "out of town" 30 mins would be charged for the drive there. When the bill was done we were charged 60mins (after a long process 30mins were refunded). They arrived to the storage unit at 10am loaded the truck and then had to take an hour lunch, they were unable to go to the 2nd location right after loading at the storage unit due not enough room on the truck (reminder everything came on 1 truck) so they drove to the 2nd address instead of going to the drop off location 1st to unload the truck - this mistake was not resolved which I would estimate was an additional 30-45 min time. Finally they arrived at the drop off point I arrived there at 2pm they started this move at 10am and they didn't have half of the truck unloaded and appeared to be moving as slow as possible. Finally they were done and were finally able to go to the 2nd location which didn't have as much stuff but guess what they were unable to get it all on the truck (we will find a way to take those items ourselves). Again unloading took far longer than it should have with 3 movers going from a truck 10ft to a building. Yes there was a lot of stuff and yes some of it was heavy but I believe that a move which involved no stairs, long walks and locations approx. 15-20mins apart should not have taken 8.5 hrs. Considering their trucks say fast, efficient and affordable none of which I found to be true. This company saw 2 older people who hired them to save their health and safety and took advantage of that and went as slow and inefficient as possible. read more
