We recently did a 2-hour Tiki cruise for my mom's birthday, and had such a great time! The boat…read moredeparts from a bar/restaurant on the water so there's plenty of parking and you can grab a drink or a bite (and use the bathrooms--there's none on the boat) before or after. The boat itself is literally a round, floating tiki bar on the water. It holds up to 6 people plus the captain. You can bring your own drinks (recommend taking a page out of our book and bringing a pitcher of pre-made painkillers with you for the ride!) and snacks, and they provide water and drinking ice. You can also connect to bluetooth speakers to play your own music. Our captain was great, he chatted with us throughout the ride, pointing out wildlife and sharing little tidbits about the landmarks and history of the area as we cruised around. As you'd expect this thing doesn't move very quickly, but it made for a really relaxing ride with plenty of time to check out the views, enjoy a few drinks, and gawk at all the houses and boats along the shore. We went around 6:30pm and it was perfect for beating the heat and catching some sunset. Would totally do this again for a special occasion or with out of town visitors!

My husband and I were with two other couples/family and every one of us loved it. The skipper Jim was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We brought a couple of adult beverages, leis, and snacks, and we had an instant floating luau!

What an amazing experience! Beautiful land with knowledgeable historians throughout the property…read more I had a great afternoon exploring the Historic City. I was able to walk around the property on the paved pathways and not only see and read about the history of the buildings, but also hear from live historians and some of the locations. I arrived later in the afternoon and received my ticket at a discounted price ($3.50) compared to the $10 admission fee charged during the day for adults. I loved learning the history of this area while visiting from out of town. I highly recommend stopping if you can, but do give yourself minimum 2 hours (or more!!) to get through everything. I did miss out on viewing the plantation and a few of the smaller building

St Mary's City was the first capital of Maryland and established as a place of religious freedom…read more We were in nearby Leonardtown MD visiting the giant Rubber Duck and lucked across this historic site. There are a number of reconstructed buildings and archeological digs on the site. The interpreters at the Ordinary (a pub/rooming house) and the print shop really connected us with the spirit of this historic town. The reconstruction of the old church with video explanation of the burials there also brought the town to life. The boat was docked out in the water so we couldn't board it but we were provided tickets to come back at a later date. Worth a visit if you are into history and don't mind walking a bit. Paths are mostly paved but a bit rough. Definitely wear sunscreen and a shade hat in summertime.

These slips at low tide are ONLY 4 feet deep, we draw 5.5 & 5.10, and we were not told this. Needless to say, we got stuck on the bottom, and there was no one available to help. Second, in paying the extra for electricity for air conditioning, the breakers kept tripping on the power poles (not good if it's 80 at night and humid). Third, in leaving we were told the office opened at 9am, which they were not, maybe they were on mountain time? Fourth, the bathrooms were dated and smelled. Pool was clean.

Bad food. Bad service…read more This place has a really nice bar and deck in the summertime. It's a great place to hang out, relax and drink beer. As a restaurant though it is God Awful. We went with a party of 5 and all had food that bordered on disgusting. My linguini Alfredo was a normal portion of pasta swimming in a half gallon of Alfredo sauce. The accompanying salad was nothing more than iceberg lettuce and croutons with syrupy sweet, fluorescent vinaigrette. A companion's crabcakes was flat, squishy and flavorless and the fish tacos were battered fried fish with a glop of Cole slaw inside a raw flour tortilla. Service was painfully slow and inept during all of our 2.5 hour stay. Stop by for a beer if you're in the area but plan on dining elsewhere.
