With that said, the rest of this review will be largely negative for a variety of reasons that I will describe below. Let's get the positives out of the way. The person who took the initial measurements of the property was personable and professional. In addition, as mentioned above, the actual outcome (a walkway) ended up being pretty nice. Now for the negatives, which make up the majority of my experience with this company. 1) scheduling: when I made the decision to go with them, I asked them when the work would be started. Their response - call us back in 3 weeks or so and we'll see if you're on the calendar yet... What good looks like to me is that they tell me a target, and then get in touch with me regularly as we get closer to the date. In addition, even though they eventually told me the date, they showed up unannounced two weeks early (no joke - they just showed up, assuming it was ok to get started...). To add to that, they didn't finish the first day, and said they'd be back the next day. Well, they didn't show up, so I had to call the office...again... They ended up coming the following day. 2) the job site: there are too many problems to list here, but I'll do my best. First, they dug up a bunch of dirt for the walkway, and they just threw it on the grass surrounding the area. So much that I had to replant grass seed in the area. Second, for a company with "garden" in their name, they sure do seem clueless in terms of how to work a garden. Specifically, they dug up parts of our garden, and, instead of putting it back, they just placed the dug-up plants on top of the dirt (vs. replanting them). In addition, they tossed a bunch of dirt on top of the newly mulched garden area... Third, when digging, they cut an exposed root to a tree in the yard. I guess we'll see in about 7-9 months if the tree survived... Finally, they went in my fenced-in back yard for some reason. Well, instead of closing the gate when they left, they left it wide open, which would be fine if I didn't have kids and several animals who roam the backyard... 3) communication: last but not least, their communication was quite subpar. Aside from the scheduling mishaps, they were unresponsive to email, and messed up my final invoice (added a line item for a $750 project they didn't do...). Overall, this was a poor experience. I would strongly recommend against anyone doing business with this company. Keep looking - you can thank me later.

Being from California, the concept of trees, vast open spaces of land, and inclement weather are foreign to me; I needed help. We received a flyer in the mail from Highwood Landscaping offering a discount so I decided to test them out. Lawn mowed; no problems! After that test run, we kept them on for scheduled mowing, and I've been nothing but pleased. Then the Fall hit, the leaves were everywhere, everywhere, everywhere! We don't have this many trees in Cali! I never knew it could become such a problem. My lawn was definitely bringing the value of the neighborhood down, as it had become such an eyesore covered in leaves. But luckily, Highwood could take care of my Fall Cleanup as well. Phew. Leaves cleaned, no problems! And now that the snow has finally thawed, and the sun begins to warm my soul; I recently was reminded that there is life outside my heated living room. Perhaps they shouldn't have been mowing over the ONE tree our yard has and used a weed-whacker over the roots instead? If you want cheap, go with Highwood. Had Fuller come out last year to repave my driveway and initial sales responsiveness was great,…read morehowever final product and fit/finish leaves more to be desired. Their insistence on 2% cross slope and not willing to add base material resulted in a portion of my driveway BELOW the surrounding yard. As you'd expect, every time it rains or snows, I get a pond almost 3in deep and up to 6ft wide. Additionally, where the driveway mates up to the garage the trim was damaged, and asphalt is starting to crumble away at the edges. I also believe they received a sub-part mix from their supplier, because after 12 months the driveway is still somewhat soft and gritty (floor jack made an imprint, which was never an issue at my prior homes). The worst part was that all these issues are items I noted to Fuller prior to them placing asphalt, and was told it would be alright. I therefore CANNOT recommend their service due to lack of concern for these legitimate issues, which I must now deal with going forward.
