Let me also add, I am a woman and I do think this plays into why my experience was so harmful. My car overheated and I had it towed to this garage. The staff I always work with says they will have a look and get back to me. They call a few hours later telling me that my engine has knocking and it's totaled. It will cost $10,000 to repair and my car isn't even worth that amount and immediately asks me if I want to scrap my car, where's my title? Is it a paper or digital? There was no discussion about fixing it or anything else about what happened to it. Mind you, 3 months earlier i had spent around $2500 with this garage on fixing things on my car. Now this?! I'm devastated. I had just taken a loan out on this car and the bank officially owned it so I call my bank and let them know the situation. The banks car repo guy calls me back and asks, how well do I know this garage? I thought well. He tells me to take it somewhere else and get a 2nd opinion. Thank god for the bank repo guy because now my car is fixed and I didn't have to buy a new engine. I feel like I was being pressured to let go of my car so they could scrap it for parts. This is incredibly unethical and shocking to have had what I thought was a great relationship for so many years. I am not an expert in cars and rely on their expertise and feel very taken advantage of and fear for other people and probably more women may have fallen victim to this scam.

We discussed "reskinning" the door or going with a replacement new door. The owner made it clear a new door was the best option and he hates reskinning doors. so, I left with an estimate for a replacement new door.  When I dropped off the car, the work order I signed simply said "repair to estimate".  Since the estimate I had was a replacement door, I felt it was clear. However, for some reason, he reskinned the door and did not replace it. In addition, the painting could have been better. Bottom line is, he is a nice guy but the attention to detail is lacking. If you decide to use them, ensure you get a clear and detailed work order which includes a clearly defined expected timeframes, etc.
