This is a cute little neighborhood on NE Second Ave off Atlantic Ave. The name Pineapple Grove references the pineapple farms that dotted Delray Beach in the early 1900's. Pineapples were the main crop of the area and canning plants were built to process the fruit. It is across the street from the back of Old School Square.
The grove is a mixture of condominiums, restaurants, a gym, boutiques, galleries, spas, and salons. There is public art work and entertainment at the Arts Garage. The Arts Garage was an abandoned warehouse that the Community Redevelopment Agency purchase and refurbished in order to provide artists an affordable space to create and show their art work. They hope it will ignite the art scene in Delray Beach.
If you get hungry the Ramen Lab Eatery, Avant, and El Camino restaurants are located here. Different events are held here during the year like Get Your Grove On which brings together local artists with food offerings and craft beer. This area is a little more funky than Atlantic Ave. It is definitely worth a detour when you are in the area to check out the more artsy side of Delray Beach. read more
