Based on that, when the winds of change split a tree we called them to save or remove and were told that the tree couldn't be saved and that how much it would be to take down. The take down price was over double the first experience, but as we were in a precarious situation being that if the tree split and fell it would take out either our house or our neighbors. We proceeded at the inflated price in the name of safety. The crew said they would come back in the next week or so and remove the stump for an additional amount. This is where it goes bad. About a week later I call to ask if they are coming, they come out and now they said they never heard of me, never took out the tree, and the price is triple what it was originally quoted! I can only surmise, the second tree pricing was a gouge job in emergency service, then wouldn't honor their first, lower estimate, on another service. The old man that did the estimating has an attitude problem. In both instances the crew were nice and quick (and account fully for one of the stars), but, to me, it doesn't make up for the other negatives. I will not use again, and I cannot recommend that you do either!

The young man that came out was very pleasant and knowledgeable and he gave us what I thought was a very fair quote. However, due to the height of the trees I ended up going with another company that had bucket lifts to get to the higher branches as I was concerned for the safety of anyone climbing those dead old trees. I didn't want to see a big old branch snap and someone fall to the ground. I know they have their methods of doing things but I felt more comfortable having someone in a bucket lift instead. Bottom line, do call Cooper's Tree Service because I'm sure they would do a good job. I was impressed with their promptness in coming out to give me a quote and as I said the young man was very personable. I'll use them the next time around.

Beware: Royal Contracting put asphalt on my driveway and it began breaking up within 4 months after…read moredoing a $30,000+ job. Our contract said the driveway would be 2.5 inches deep. It is only .5 inch in the middle and 2.5 on the sides so it looks like it meets the requirement. They also did not use the correct mixture, saving themselves money and costing me. After multiple attempts to get in touch with them, the owner finally agreed to take a look the situation but he never did. That was 1.5 years ago. When our continued calls and emails did not work, we finally were forced to take it to court. The judge decided in our favor. Started with a quick response, came out told me that the two trees I wanted removed were fairly…read morestraightforward to remove and quoted me for tree cut, removal and stump grind. I excepted the quote and informed them of my availability, time and that this job wouldn't be able to start until a couple months later. I call couple months later and set up time, they did show up the first day a few hours later than agreed upon but showed up. I live in a pretty rural area, and GPS can be difficult at time. The original plan was to cut, and remove tree one, then tomorrow cut, remove and grind tree two if the weather allowed. The area was under a thunderstorm watch, so I was already looking at a different time for tree two. I was inside keeping my dog out of the way and when the person knocked on my door to say they were done for the day. They had not cut tree one down. Said they had to get a wood chipper and would be back not tomorrow because of the storm. They said they would be back next week around the same time. A month went by of texting to figure out the plan. They stated they were waiting on rental company to have a wood chipper available. During the texting they kept asking if I have any other available. I work 5-6 days a week overnights. So I ask what day they were wanting to change too. The days and times that they gave were good times I could not work with. They kept texting that they didn't need me there they could work when I wasn't home. They kept making about how I didn't trust them to be on my property during that time and I repeatedly told them it wasn't that I didn't trust them I had dogs that I couldn't keep locked up for 24 hours in the house. This argument kept going on for the next 4 months and they had only been out to my property two times and had not removed or trimmed any limbs off the two trees that I needed done during that entire time. I finally informed them they had a week from that day to complete everything or I was going with a different company and going to pay that company first that completed what I hired them to do and would subtract their total from what they quoted me. They again tried to tell me that I was being unreasonable with my availability, wanting to be there for them to come out and sorry that things were taking longer than anticipated. I was so frustrated with them by this point. I didn't feel like I was being unreasonable because I was upfront about all of this and they told me that they could work with that. They did complete everything within the next 7 days but said that they were unable to stump grind because my sidewalk was in the way and would damage their blades. That sidewalk had been there the entire time when they gave the quote and had not changed within that 4 months. They they wanted me to let them stump grind tree one so they could still charge me for the stump grind. Tree one was in the middle of my yard already dead. I needed three two to be stumped grind so it would kill the root system faster because it was pushing into my foundation. I argued with them that that because they couldn't stump grind tree two we initially agreed on then the stump grinding needed to be taken off of the final price.
