The teachers all have many, many years of experience, combined with boundless energy, enthusiasm, a love of learning, and love for children. Many of the teachers have advanced degrees, and they're clearly not there teaching for the little bit of money they earn -- they're there because they love to teach. The teachers are simply amazing and gifted. The building is small, but they make the most of it. They offer a Lunch Bunch class for 2-yr olds with a parent that meets once per week for a few weeks in the Fall and Spring, a 3-yr old class on Tues & Thurs AM or PM, a 4-yr old class on Mon, Wed, & Fri AM or PM, and a Mon-Thurs Pre-K class in AM for 5-yr olds. They emphasize hands-on, sensory-based learning through music, movement, stories, arts, science experiments, learning centers during free-play time, poetry, reading, pre-writing and many special projects, field trips, and guest teachers that you'd normally expect to find only in an expensive, private preschool. It reminds a little of the Montessori teaching style. It's also a very diverse place with students from all over the world and they welcome children with a variety of learning disabilities and developmental delays as well. It's a very accepting place. Unfortunately, the building is not handicap accessible for those in wheelchairs or walkers -- all students must be able to walk up and down stairs. Both of my children went here, each for three years and I can't say enough good things about it. My youngest child is finishing his last year at My School this month, and I'll be a little sad not being there in the future. It's a wonderful, fun, and nurturing place.

Downsides include all the struggles of smaller districts, including the selection of AP and other advanced courses, dominating personalities you may not like, and of course, resource allocation you may not agree with. This is a sprawling, rural district so your child may sit on the bus a very long time. STEM teachers are stellar. Focus overall is still on education.

That is not true at all. If you want to be friends with people in that school it is not easy and your mental state drains when trying to fit in. Finally, the amount of drugs that go around that school is crazy for how much they praise drugs are bad for you. Please take this into consideration before making your decision

The performance was held at 10th St Elementary which is where they stage their musical theater. Street parking is available. I was fortunate to get our tickets ahead of time so we would have good seats. I didn't get to see much of the building itself except there is an outdoor playground and I was able to see the school office from a distance. The auditorium is a very nice size and the sound and tech crew sit high above the rear for the effects. I liked the fact that they used the same head mikes which made it a lot easier to catch the lyrics and parts I normally miss when seeing the show in a large theater like the Benedum. These high school students put on an amazing job and although due to space and cost could not use all the props associated with the production (in this case the funny curtain), still, they were able to make up for it in comedy and dance. I loved how they showed picture biographies of the cast in the lobby and and Tee Shirts hanging in the foyer of past productions. Spamalot is a ripoff of Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie set to music where it literally takes jabs at many Broadway musicals of the past. It's definitely a good comedy worth seeing. I want to thank everyone at Riverdale for all the hard work put into this production because a show of this quality is not as easy to replicate on stage. I loved the care she received and thr friendliness if the staff, so much that when I needed a church to attend on Christmas I went there. The service was one of the best I have ever attended. Slowly, I started attending services and taking my children to youth activities. I have found life long friends and countless activities for my family and myself. I attend the 10:00 AM contemporary service. The music is awesome and the fellowship before and after worship makes me look forward to worshipping and has strengthed my faith. What he learned in that year of 4 day half day Kindergarten FAR exceeded what he is learning this year in Mars kindergarten, sadly. His education was amazing, he thrived in math, and made so much progress in every area. We just loved it. We are keeping our fingers crossed that our now 4 year old can go there this year!
