White Squirrel - Burger and Greek salad

    White Squirrel

The restaurant and golf course are immaculately kept and make for a scenic dining experience. Note that the restaurant is split up into two separate areas, one for larger groups and one for smaller dining. We had wanted to sit in the larger group area because it seemed like more fun, but instead we were seated on the other side and it was only us over there. The menu looked delicious and as we were both famished, we had quite the time figuring out what to order. Everything always sounds so good when you're hungry. We both ended up ordering the burger (with gluten free bun); mine with greek salad and hers with caesar. Decent burger, I would get it again. Service was friendly, but the food did take a while, especially for what we ordered. Must have been because of the other side being busy. Washrooms were clean and easy to find. The parking lot is also big with lots of extra large/long spots so if you're pulling a boat or trailer you could stop in with lots of room. We didn't do dessert so I can't speak to that. Will definitely be back to try some other things.

The patio caters to those golfing and is open to the public. They have an indoor dining restaurant along with two very large outdoor covered patios. They also have an outdoor pizza oven. We were seated at one of the long tables outside which was perfect for your group. It is a fairly typical menu and I opted for the burger (two patties) with fries. The presentation was quite good and I liked that the burgers had a nice sear on the patties. There was no issue with the service and our server was pleasant. My only criticism is that they did not have an IPA on tap, which is a shame with so many local craft breweries in the area. It was a positive dining experience and happy to recommend White Squirrel if in Grand Bend and want a nice meal in a beautiful setting.

East Park - Fun times at the slide

"They didn't have many and the bullet and caterpillar are the only good ones" -mr 9 The splash pad was good but if that's all your going for I would just go to one of the free city ones. The iced cream wasn't too bad but we had to cut our eating time short because of the bees. No ones fault but still a pain. I also found it was a pain picking up the tickets because of the loud sounds inside the building. I couldn't wait to get out. If you can get out of the city there are better places but if your here it's not a wasted day out

I really like East Park, it's a bit overpriced (hence the 4 stars) but otherwise it's a lot of fun…read more Water Park: Awesome. The slides are great! Although the water is ICE COLD, it's quite refreshing on a really hot day. It offers water fun for kids (and grown ups) of all ages. The splash pad area is great for the little ones and it has one of those cool dumping buckets that are kid magnets. The change rooms always smell like pee unfortunately, you;re better off using the stalls out by the carpet slides if you don't need to use a washroom. Mini Golf: I love minigolf and East Park offers fun themed holes and is a great change from the place on Adelaide I usually go. The minigolf has two options, one with wooden edges around each hole and one without (like real golf). The one without edges is usually less busy and better for teens/adults. Batting Cages: I'm fairly certain these are the only ones in London. The last time I was there the "softball" ones were both very slow (even the hard option) so my friend and I were using the expert hardball games to practice our swings. We brought our own bats and helmets because their bats aren't high quality and I always question the cleanliness of shared helmets. Rock Climbing: I hate heights so I hate rock climbing. I did the team building exercises here in 2009 and the person running them was fantastic. They were supportive and really motivated our group to complete the challenge. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and well maintained.

    Crumlin Creek Golf Club

Because it was Friday, we got the Dozen and Dine deal. $20 for 12 holes and dinner afterwards. Yes, you read right, this place is a 12 hole golf course. It took 2.5 hours to finish the round for 4 people, walking. This course has the golf boards available. It's basically a scooter you stand on and ride, while your golf bag hangs out on the front. Kind of cool but we passed on using these. It's about $15 to get one. The course itself does need a lot of work. The driving range is set up so the artificial tees are behind the regular tee area, just a bit off to the side. So if you have a serious aiming-to-the-right problem (like I do) be aware. The greens were quite sandy and there were some spots along the course that had a lot of patchy sandy areas. The grass is very rough and sparse in spots. Being literally next door to the London International Airport, we weren't really bothered by planes overhead but there wasn't too many going in and out at the time. For dinner we were offered the typical golf course fare, hot dogs, burgers, sausages, fries, onion rings, salad. We were all quite happy with our selections. The sausages were great and the fries were good. I'd give the course itself a 2 star but the convenience factor of booking online, 12 holes, and the price and dinner, bumps up this review to a 3.

Not only is it only 12 holes, but each green features a regular hole and a larger one - which, while my son was too proud to actually use I thought was a great thing to offer. It's never been too busy when we've been there - a handful of times - which makes it more relaxed for a new golfer without the pressure of having to make people behind you wait. The course might be too easy for the experienced golfer but does offer a few challenging shots throughout. I can say that I've been pleasantly surprised but how reasonable the prices are every time I go. We've yet to try the golf hover board things but do hope to do so this season. Be advised the conditions can vary greatly but all-in-all in offers a few hours of fun for the price of only a buck or two per hole. It's a pretty good deal. The food? On the few times I've tried it has all been good and once again a good value. The offer quite a few different deals throughout the week so it is certainly worth checking out before you book a tee time. My favourite part is that the atmosphere is very relaxed and allows for some fun, some sun and a great way to pass some time. FORE!

First off, the people here are SO friendly. If you are a beginner golfer, you will not feel out of place here. They are welcoming and obviously enjoy what they do. My parents are regulars at this course and know all the girls by name, know their stories, and even watch some of them grow up and move along. This course is great for someone who is looking for a leisurely game of golf that isn't too difficult. As someone who gets out a few times a year, this course is perfect. There are long holes, some short ones, and then the challenges with fields on the side, so you might lose a ball or two! The water hazards and sand traps are there but nothing too crazy. Most of the time though, you will most likely hit into another fairway as each hole is separated by pine trees. The porta-potties on the course are in really good shape too. There is a small pro shop here that sells clothing, gloves, clubs, bags, and carts. The prices are really decent and they have lots of sizes which is nice. The food here isn't anything to write home about but they have the standard hot dogs, burgers, roast beef sandwiches, cookies (they are YUMMY), chocolate bars, pepperettes, beer, coolers, spirits, and pop. They also have a girl going around on the cart. Tillsonview Fairways is probably THE course that made me like golf. It is great to play and the people are awesome!
