This is NOT the best self service car wash in the area... this one just happens to be close to me and the vacuums really suck!
OK, this place has been around since I started High School in 199... never mind. It's been around for a while and it hasn't change a bit save for the automatic dryer which honestly kinda blows... sometimes it cuts off half way, doesn't blow at all or the ducting gets stuck on the ceiling, then at other times it's frickin' prefect... gremlins maybe?
The wash stalls are OK, you got some hoses and high pressure nozzles, a foamy brush that you gotta rinse off before using unless you want scratches from other people washing the mud and grit off their 35" Mickey Thompson Mudders... it happens. The stall coin-ops are finicky at best and like to spit quarters back out repeatedly until they're good 'n ready to accept your coinage. When you eventually do get your $1.50 worth of quarters in, you get 4 minutes 20 seconds of wash time.
Quality of the wash is really up to you, it IS self service.
Now the Automatic... that's another story. If your car is a little dirty... little bit of road crap, little bit of mud or perhaps someone spilled a Yoohoo on your trunk... go ahead, use the automatic. For anything more than that don't bother, you'll just waste $6.00 and have a slightly cleaner car.
The vacuums suck, really the do! I never see anyone working there and emptying out the vacs but, every time I'm there using the vacuum there's plenty of: Sdv/dt (L/s)
or "Suction Capacity".
Basically - someone takes the crap out and it doesn't get clogged.
Just because the place isn't that great, I still go here for a quick vac and if I need to get a quick cheap wash. It's not the best but hell, it works just fine.
