Food was fine, all we had were egg sandwiches. Pretty sparse, but our fault for not realizing we should've ordered "double egg". This was our first time there and I was floored by the rudeness of some of the staff. The guy that took our order basically was annoyed that we didn't know the drill. This was new to us! After ordering, we waited for our 4 sandwiches. The guy by the register was just as rude. The four sandwiches sat there for maybe 5 minutes - So I finally asked if they were ours, since nobody had called out our name yet. He answered rudely. Made me wait while he rang up a sandwich that was ordered after ours, and a few "to go" orders that were wrapped in foil. Ours sat there getting cold. It was a cute place but probably won't go back. I am not, I repeat, not happy to have to tear down a completely serviceable, friendly and well liked community spot. It really, genuinely hurts me to write this but, I'm sorry, it has to be said. Look, I know we're all "over" this pandemic nonsense and that little slips after a year of arduous, painstaking work to be safe are going to happen. But as someone who operated a restaurant during the worst of it, minutes outside of Manhattan where people and businesses alike were dying in heaps, I'm just plain outraged by the lack of care I witnessed today. This deli has a small open kitchen, completely visible through a partition wall as you stand at the counter. As I waited, a member of the kitchen staff stood behind the partition, face to the public which was comprised of a significant line of patrons and ate for several minutes. No mask. No gloves. I was shocked. Eating, let alone glovelessly, in a commercial kitchen is a major healthcode violation and contamination risk factor without covid. But there was no concern on the man's face as he continued chewing, wiped sweat from his brow with the back of his hand and returned to cooking without washing his hands. I nearly said something. I nearly walked away. There was a long line and the young lady at the counter prepared my sandwich seperately from the kitchen. She was masked and gloved so I thought I'd swallow this one and let it go. Then as I was leaving, the girl who'd served me was in the kitchen herself, mask off, eating some sort of ice cream sundae obviously from an outside vendor. So clearly the issue is systemic. The staff was friendly and trying to get through a busy afternoon but in the absence of me bringing this horrible grievance to their attention face to face, which ultimately I felt would have hurt their business more, I elected to regretably air the issue here. Guys, I apologize, but you need to pay attention. You. Could. Kill someone. read more

Visited for the first time this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised! They use Boars Head which makes a huge difference, they were friendly and efficient. This is your basic plain vanilla deli but they elevate it by providing good service. What a hard working family that prepares perfect egg sandwiches and excellent lunches. The bacon egg and cheese is delicious. The bagels, scones and muffins are a 10 ! The coffee is very good. The family instead of a tip bucket, fills large buckets to the top for every Charity you can imagine, what good people they are and very involved with the community. Sandwiches are average, definitely nothing special. They only offer basic ingredients (they don't have spinach or any other leafy vegetable besides lettuce) Beware the soup!! I ordered chicken noodle soup and I kid you not I got a cup of Campbell's "home style" chicken noodle soup. I know it for a fact because I had it recently and it's absolutely disgusting. This deli makes the best vegetarian wrap. I add avocado and a fried egg to make it the real deal, and a lot of delis don't have one of those let alone both. There is ample seating inside, it has a nice atmosphere, but I will say they are very slow to get your order out. Even when I've called the order in ahead of time it has been slow. Know this and plan accordingly because it is a fantastic deli. We come after climbing at RCF across the street and happily chow down on their super stuffed sandwiches and wraps. read more

This review is based on one breakfast sandwich -- the SHREDDER -- but I've heard they have other good sandwiches. It came highly recommended and it certainly did not disappoint. It's a no frills sandwich which you can probably make at home, but somehow always tastes better when someone else makes it. Basically it contains the following from top to bottom: egg, on top of a slice of cheese (white american i think), on top of bacon on top of another egg, on top of another slice of cheese, on top of sausage, on top of home fried potatoes (or maybe tater tots). All of this gut-filling, artery clogging, contraption is encased within a soft poppyseed covered kaiser roll. But the key is they add some hot sauce on the inside of the top bun which gives it a little zing (kind of like saying, it's morning time wake up!) and the ketchup on the bottom bun (maybe on top of potatoes), which gives it the satisfying sweetness to compliment the salty flavor of the bacon and sausage. The placement of the cheese is ingenious, gluing the egg, bacon, and sausage together. This is definitely a hearty sandwich that is best eaten early to mid morning (perhaps 8 to 9am after a nice early morning workout - you'll want to get the blood flowing first) and a cup of coffee, as it will be enough to hold you over till lunch. read more

Today I stopped to purchase two Philly steak and cheese grinders. I called the order in and arrived 10 minutes later . I waited about 15 minutes or more to get the order. Not a big deal. Took the grinders to a friends he apologized that they weren't good because he suggested to go there . The steak had no flavor and was dried out and tough. It was so bad I tossed out almost half of the grinder . Apparently its hit and miss at Pine Creek ,some people say great others have different opinions . Its a shame Beverly Pizza was closed today. I've been a regular at this Deli and it makes me sad that I am writing this review. Personally, when I think of a deli, I think of a place that will pack you a hefty and tasty sandwich for a good price... this is what I DID get a couple years ago at this deli. As of my more recent visits, there is no doubt that this deli has decreased in value and quality and doesn't fit my idea of a deli. I brought home lunch for my family, a BLT for my mother, an Italian sandwich for my sister and a tuna sandwich for myself costing around $20 with no drinks or chips. Normally I am fine with that price so long as its your typical quality deli sandwiches. I received a BLT stuffed with lettuce, a little tomato, and a hardly visible layer of bacon. My tuna sandwich was no more than a scoop and was not even spread across the sandwich in the slightest. My sisters Italian sandwich was lacking in volume as well, certainly was no Italian sandwich I have ever seen before. I am giving this rating 3 stars because I feel bad that this is a place I have loved going to since I was a boy but I can only say I am a little disappointed with the decrease in quality. If you're looking for value in a sandwich in the area, I would recommend Fire House Deli down the road in downtown Fairfield. read more

Ordered 4 sandwiches in the A.M. And 1/4# of cole Slaw 2 B.E.C hard fried 1 B.E.C over easy 1 Tuna sandwich - Lettuce, Tomato. Sandwiches all excellent. Especially the over easy. Yolk was runny, and the bacon hot and crispy. Nice color too. The highlight for me was the coleslaw. Finely minced. Crunchy texture. Sweet but not overwhelmingly so, with a hint of mustard. Tuna sandwich was also a standout. Lettuce and tomato were very crispy and fresh. Tomato was also great, despite not being in season. Can't wait to go back. read more

Went in on a Wednesday afternoon about 2pm. The girls behind the counter were rude and acted as if it was an imposition to wait on us. They did not greet us and only asked if we knew what we wanted.
