The space is truly beautiful and the ability to use both levels indoors for the reception as well as the outdoor space for the ceremony allowed us significant variety with the venue giving us the ability to have our guests be entertained while also having so many fantastic spaces to really strut our decor. As expected, it also provided innumerable photo opportunities. Keeping guests shuffling from place to place was great for alleviating the oh so common uncertainty of where to be/what to do at weddings, while allowing for the progression of events throughout the evening. The dance floor upstairs is amazing for entertaining and allows for guests to maximally view the first dance/parent-child dance (as well as guests dancing themselves!). The outdoor space needed little decoration due to the well-cultivated plant life and the seats outside the gazebo comfortably provided seating for everyone. Our day-of experience was wonderful! For the day-of festivities, Simeon (previously site manager and now owner) was very responsive, helpful, and engaging - often rushing to see to any need we had and trying to anticipate our needs as well. The only challenging parts of our experience were related to communication (or lack thereof) with Simeon. While initially he was congenial, responsive and very helpful, the intervening months between booking and our big day was very frustrating at times. One of the major issues was lack of communication. While running a venue is no doubt hard work and time consuming, so often we did not receive any response to vital questions about the space, the amenities, and supplies available for up to a month at a time. The lack of response became so dire we had to reach out through our caterer to try and get a response to some very basic questions. There was also another difficulty that arose that made us feel very uncomfortable. When discussing our wedding with Simeon, we mentioned we were having a Jewish-gay ceremony. Simeon came to us later and asked if his house photographer could take some images of our wedding for promotional materials. We accepted this, but asked that we have access to those images as well. Simeon responded implying that we had misunderstood and that he wanted access to our photographers images for his use (despite clear communication via e-mail). We declined this. He responded that he would just take images himself with his cell phone for his own use. This felt very invasive and made us feel as though our ceremony was a marketing ploy for him which felt rather offensive and disrespectful. This was never truly rectified and we do not know if he was surreptitiously taking images of our ceremony. Simeon's behavior throughout the rest of the day-of was very helpful and attentive. The Meadows Event Center is beautiful and offers so many wonderful photo and entertaining opportunities but we would suggest being direct and very clear with all requests and doing so in writing. And make sure that all of your questions are answered at booking (or before if possible).

They host a plethora of events - from baby showers, to weddings, to reunions in addition to the standard CU BUFFS football games! Natalie, Kristi, Marcos and the entire team are phenomenal! Today, visited today for an athletics department tour. For a nominal fee, we were given a behind-the-scenes tour of Folsom Field and the UCHealth Champions Center. We got to see and experience the Ford Practice Facility where the BUFFS football team practices and where CU hosts a number of track and field and other events, the Weight Room - THE BEST WEIGHT ROOM I'VE EVER SEEN as well as team meeting rooms and the Champions Center rooftop! So many behind the scenes places, I don't even remember them all! We saw trophies, and all of the most inspiring quotes from Coach Prime! I had plans to attend and at the last minute was unable to make it. Because we live out of state we wanted to make sure the gift arrived on-time, and with literally 2 days before the wedding our only choice was to overnight the gift. We called and spoke with the owner to let her know that we had sent the package. Michelle B. was so wonderful about it, she didn't hesitate to send updates throughput the day until she received the package. As promised, she set up the gift on the table as requested. Michelle's kindness during this time truly made us feel a little less sad about missing this big day. I can only imagine the love and passion she has for all her events at D&D. Everything from the pre-planning (many emails back and forth from CA) to the clean-up went without a hitch. The venue provided everything including a stage with speakers and microphone, upgraded full bar and awesome bartender, tables and chairs with linen, a delicious taco bar with the chef interacting with our guests for the first 2 hours, staff that worked behind the scenes and kept everything clean, tidy and running smoothly. When I asked about a cake Chef John said he could do that as well. We're still talking about the strawberries and cream cake he made which included Neufchâtel cheese in the frosting. The venue has beautiful hardwood floors, large windows, and a door to the outside patio, right on the river. We were able to hang decorations and we're asked often if we needed anything, any help. Leanne Jewell is the event manager and she took great care of us. When we originally booked the venue the plan was to have it mostly outside with 30 people. Just days before it became apparent we would possibly have snow or rain and 50 people. Leanne reassured me not to worry, they would move the party indoors if needed. Planning everything from another state had me a bit frazzled but I can assure you they know what they are doing. I was so impressed. Thank you Riverside Events, we had a fantastic time.

We were offered to hold a "Get out and Vote" rally for a local school board election…read more Weeks prior, the manager of the Garden Room offered their venue to hold the event and confirmed the day and time. After advertising the event on social media, we arrived on the day of the event to set things up and the owner of the Garden Room told us to leave. We introduced ourselves and offered our hand for a handshake and he ignored it. We told the owner we had booked his venue with his manager. The owner said, "Well, They Didn't approve it with me!" and told us to leave. We had a friendly event planned and invited the opposition to attend. We found out later the owner has strong political views toward the ultra right and supports the opposition who wants to destroy public education by selling out our public schools for profit. Regardless of his political views, his manager scheduled his venue for this rally and the owner did not honor it on the day we were to hold it. Buyer beware. You cannot trust your event to be held here. Disgraceful!

Also there was absolutely no charge for this event at all. I am so incredibly sorry for the inconvenience it caused everyone that day. It's my knowledge that the event still happened just east of the venue so that attendees could still participate even if it wasn't as planned :( I no longer work at The Garden Room but I can say it's a wonderful venue with a tremendous staff and you will not be disappointed. Please don't let this one event that did not go well because of my actions ruin your future interest and bookings of this venue. *Please note that politics and the views of anyone affiliated with The Garden Room had nothing to do with the event not occurring at the venue it was solely my mess up that caused the inconvenience that day.

Darla and Jim were with us every step of the way. We had plenty of help planning and got lots of guidance and suggestions when we asked for it. It felt like everyone was just as invested in our wedding as we were. On top of that, all of the rentals are included in the venue price and there were extra decorations we were able to use (for example, a card box and sign). Jim has an amazing ability to talk you through the stressful moments and was super communicative leading up to the big day. On the day of, we were wed, fed, hydrated, and happy. People just appeared with food and drinks without us having to ask for it. Even though things were shifting constantly, I did not feel any stress and it seemed like any "problem" that arose was an easy fix. Our day was truly perfect, everything we dreamed of, because of Darla and Jim.

I've known Erica a really long time; she is very detail-oriented and specific in what she likes and doesn't like. And so it was really special to see the trust she and Jarret had in Erin and Allie helping their very specific ideas come to life. They gushed about working with the Brookside team all throughout the planning process and said they felt so lucky to have you guys. As the officiant, the team did such a good job making sure my microphone worked and that I was comfortable with the set up (shout out Kevin!) and that I was shepherded to where I needed to be with humor and care.
