Greystone Manor - two little sisters outside Greystone manor.

About a home that was sold out from under the heir, and sold for such a ridiculous price, compared…read moreto what it cost to build in 1904. My husband was the heir to that house, his sisters and their husbands blackmailed his mother and stole the house and sold it and the contents of which were his, at auction. YEAH this house has many many stories, You want a few, I can tell you more than you'd ever want to know.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Greystone Manor for the first time as my best friend had…read moreher bridal shower here. This place is not your typical venue- it is literally an old southern style, two story home. From what I was told, the owners rent it out for special events such as parties, showers, etc. It was the perfect place for my friend's bridal shower because her theme was "southern chic" and the attire was hats and heels. I felt like we were in the 1970's era the whole time, which was kind of cool! The outside of the home is very big with lots of yard space for someone who may be looking to do an outside event. Really great scenery for picture taking! The inside is filled with antiques and is fully furnished, which could be a negative depending on the amount of people you are expecting. My friend had about 20-25 guests at her shower, which was held in the one of the dining rooms and we had just enough room. Had there been more people, it would have been too crowded. Unless you speak with the owners about clearing some of the furniture out, you will not have much space to work with unless you use multiple rooms. We were able to utilize the kitchen to prepare the food that was to be served at the shower. I was shocked to see they still had a gas stove- in 2013. Old school, right? I recommend this place if you're planning an intimate event such as a shower, party, or something of that nature that causes for a vintage theme. If that is the case, Greystone Manor is your place. If you're expecting it to be very modern, then you may want to look elsewhere because it is so not that, and I'm not stating this in a negative way. I highly suggest touring the home before having an event here to ensure this venue will best accomodate your event and meet your expectations.

This was our 3rd attempt at finding a place, evidently there was a convention in town. We were tired and hungry from traveling. Crystal at the front desk was amazing. She was so kind and reassuring. She happened to have 3 cancellations and got us right in! Crystal saved our trip! Rooms were nice but the customer service was outstanding!

Let me just say that Crystal was amazing and did her best to help us. We arrived at 2:45 pm after…read moredriving for 12 hours from Atlanta GA to visit my family. We got checked into room 315 and it seem like everything was good while I got my son bathed and ready for a nap, until I noticed the back of the bathroom door during my bath. It was filthy (like it was splattered with something), and I got out and dressed. This made me look over the rest of the room. The floor like like it hadn't been mopped under the bathroom sink. And there was damage to the wall. I took photos and went downstairs to speak with the front desk. I asked if they were aware of the damage to the wall and other furniture as I didn't want to get charged the $250 fee for damage that was done to the room before we got there. She was appalled and immediately pulled us from the room to move us to another. My son and I packed out thing up and she went to inspect another room (135) and she informed us that that room wouldn't work but didn't tell us why. We then went and walked through rooms 110, 111, and neither where clean enough. There were stains and black hairs on the bed. She then went to upgrade us to a suite (room 326) but when we walked in there look like there was mold on the walls. When she touches them (checking to see if they were smudges), they flaked off the wall.So we're were back to square one. This whole time she had tried calling her managers and GM multiple times but no one would answer. Her GM finally called her back around 6:30pm and asked what was going on. When she was informed, she said that she had a problem that I waited until 6:00 when I checked in at 2:00 for me to find an issue with the room. She basically implied that I made the room dirty on purpose to get a discount or free upgrade (both my son and I are blonde and the hairs were jet black -_-), and informed Crystal to tell me that if I didn't like to rooms to refund me and I could leave. The issue is that no other hotels had the availability that I needed for my trip and I would have needed to go all the way to Little Rock and couldn't drive that far out of the way. I told her I didn't want to leave I just wanted a clean room. She then told Crystal to put me in room 135 as she had inspected it herself earlier that day (I believe this is t true as you'll see why later). At this point I had been awake for 30+ hours (I worked a 12 shift before starting the drive) and just wanted sleep. The room at first glance seemed okay and after asking for new blankets (one of the replacements was a duvet with no blanket) as they had stains on them. We settled in to finally sleep around 8:00 pm and this started our stay from hell. I guess the maids and head maid were furious that someone had complained as we received no maid service on 5/14 and 5/15. Anytime we needed towels or sheet we needed to go to the front desk or directly to laundry. My mother used to work at this location and literally had to physically go into the laundry room to get the things we needed while the front desk person supervised. Wednesday we had to take the trash out ourselves. we also discovered that the room shower curtain had mold growing on it (if the GM actually looked over the room how did you miss the growing mold?). I tried to be discreet when I brought it to the front desk and asked for a new one. The lady gave me a replacement one with no secondary liner. I then went back to get one with a liner and the young man who had taken over the desk gave me the second one and told me that I could bring the other one back later (relevant later). Things were fine Thursday and Friday, however Saturday things went to hell. We packed our things and went to check out and after we left I received a phone call about 2 1/2 hours later saying that they charged me $100 for the missing liner and the duvet that had the blanket missing. And the person who accused me of taking them was the same head maid that got in trouble for me being put through five rooms that weren't clean. They never even questioned the front desk workers who were there for the exchanged bedding and shower curtain. They just believed the word of the head maid. The worker who had called me was yelling at me over the phone and arguing with me without letting me explain and then when I told her that the GM needed to call me she said fine and hung up on me. Don't stay here. They don't clean and when you complain they charge you fees with no reason and scream at you. Worse 668 ( plus the $100 they refuse to refund me. Totaling almost $800) that I have ever spent. The money isn't even the issue is the principle of the matter and the fact that they believe the word of a jaded employee without asking questions or checking cameras and as a General manager in the customer service world I would never treat a customer the way this GM treated me. Even if I wanted to my boss would fire me.
