Lively music and a quiet studio made for a great time with the instructor practically giving us a one on one session. We sanded, distressed, stained, and painted our boards to our liking. They had a red and two white wines and soda, water, potato chips, and some assorted mini candy pieces like Almond Joy.

There are few things I love more than a spontaneous Saturday. So when brunch flowed into, "Let's go…read moreto Board and Brush," I pulled out my pennies and made it happen at the last minute. I am so glad that I did. This was my first time experiencing Board and Brush as I am more of a Painting With a Twist, chick; however, I loved the banging, staining and painting that went into the creation of my new board. Now, I want to stain EVERYTHING! LOL I am thankful that the owner easily accommodated my last minute addition. The layout of the space was pretty good though I wish my table had been pushed a little more away from the wall because the employees had to access things behind me a lot during the session and that was a little uncomfortable. It was also difficult to hear instructions sometimes and I think might have been helpful for the staff to have whistles to get everyone's attention for important things. Our group was highly verbal (smile). One additional thing that would have been nice is if we'd had the ability to adjust the design a little bit. I did not know that the corporate trademark designs were so very rigid that we couldn't do something simple like add a hook to the front of the board to accommodate the calendar I am going to hang from my board. Corporate really should give sites that bit of flexibility but it's cool because I'm going to install one myself as soon I get home. Overall, I had a great time with my friend and made a few new friends along the way. Great way to spend a Saturday!

Landed in AR and had a couple of hours to kill before dinner. I like to do some kind of art…read moreproject when I visit places and found this place as I did research while sitting at work in California. Well, I landed late, it took me longer to get my rental car than anticipated, I checked into my Airbnb and finally got here on a Thursday at around 4:30 pm. With HIGH aspirations I set out to do a mosaic of a bird. The girl (I think her name was Rose , my apologies if it's not) at the front gave me my options, explained how everything worked and the set me up at my very own table. She pulled out all of the containers, taught me how to use the tile/glass snipper and explained how to glue the pieces to the board. Cool. Easy. Let's do this! Well, I spent the first hour trying to "make" my pieces of my mosaic bird. I purposely did NOT glue anything down before figuring out what it was going to look like. Rose kept coming back to ask how I was doing and if I needed anything. She was excellently attentive. She even complemented me on my progress. I had to give her a side eye though...at that point my bird DID NOT look like a bird! Hahahah. So I decided I needed to pivot, geometric shapes it is, let's just make this look halfway decent! In my last 30 minutes I put something together, got 98% of it glued down and was satisfied with my pivot. Rose came to me at 5:57 pm, and said we're closing soon, but no rush. I'm from Los Angeles, when they come and say that to you they usually mean, hurry up, I need to close, I've got dinner plans at 6:30! Bless her heart....I always wanted to use that phrase. She was amazing, she really didn't rush me and helped me get packed. She brought everything I'd need to finish my project and gave me some directions to read the directions on the grout cover. I highly recommend this spot for DIY art. They're super helpful and very polite. All of the necessary tools are right there. Great for a small group or individual. There's lots of free parking right out front on the street.

Really cute spot! I'd say most items are in the 20-40 dollar range. We went for my moms birthday…read moreand had a fun time, definitely appropriate for all ages. I recommend getting a reservation before going, but I think they do take walk-ins.

What was supposed to be a fun night out for my daughter and I became the worst experience I have…read moreever encountered with a business. I would definitely NOT recommend going to this place. Lisa the owner was very rude. Before arriving I called and asked what time we should arrive and was told that it started at 7:00. I asked if we could arrive at 6:45 and said again it starts at 7:00. On the phone I brushed it off as just her personality and maybe I was over thinking the attitude. So my daughter and I arrive and she shows us where we will be sitting. We start painting and everything is going great until she kept coming over to my daughters painting and painting on her canvas that we paid for to explain stuff to the group. The first couple times she did it no big deal. But the entire session she kept just painting on my daughters canvas. My daughter was getting upset because she wanted to paint her own canvas. So the next time she did it I said "is it okay if she does it herself?" she stormed off with an attitude apparently this made her mad because when my daughter had a question about the paint later she replied "I think she can figure it out herself". I was completely shocked on how rude she could be. At some point my water was getting dirty and I need some fresh water so I picked up a plastic disposable cup that had been used for tracing by all 4 of us, filled it with water and started using it to rinse my brush. She replied to me "that's a drinking cup, we don't use those" I said "well it was a used cup that already had paint covered on it." Keep in mind this was a tiny Dixie cup that you use at the dentist office. What was it going to hurt for me to use something that was already trash? I also got up to get some napkins maybe like 4. She saw me do this and as soon as I got back to my seat and sat them down beside me, she came over and picked them up wadded them up and threw them away even after I told her I needed them and could I have them back. She said No, you have to use the little thing beside me which was completely drenched due to the lady beside me that spilt her water cup. She also didn't give us small enough brushes to do some of the small details on the painting so everyone's bats did not look good at all. We asked for smaller one but apparently she does not have any for the smaller details. The session was supposed to last from 7-9:30. At 8:45 she informed the group that we had only 10 minutes left and we should finish up so she could take a group picture. Everyone started panicking because no one was close to being finished. I ended up speaking up and saying "don't we have till 9:30?" She said "I'm not sure I will have to look". She knew that she was just trying to rush us out of there. She called for group picture after 10 minutes and the other 2 ladies got up to get a picture. I told her we were coming and she went ahead and snapped a picture without us but the ladies there told her we had to take another one because she took the picture without my daughter and I. She was also just bad at explaining. When she was not painting on my daughters canvas she was painting on her own canvas with her back to us and not explaining how to do stuff. She left us trying to figure out things on our own. Sorry so long but wanted to explain how terrible of an experience it was for my daughter and I. She absolutely ruined our night. We went in happy and excited to paint for our first time. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Try one of the other painting places. It has to be better than this place. Also the only reason she has some good reviews is because she will give you a free painting off the wall if you allow her to borrow your phone so she can write good reviews about her self and invite all your Facebook friends to like her page without permission. I'm not the first one with a bad experience check out some of the other reviews.
