My stepmom was a hoarder that recently passed away. My dad had passed a few years prior. We had to…read morehire someone and put 100% trust in that person because our entire family is out of state and had to hand over keys and just trust that we picked the right person. Here was our experience with Wynnie at CT. Upon meeting Wynnie, we were told that we would receive regular updates, links to auctions, get photos of items that didn't sell so we could decide it we wanted to donate them, told that the valuable items would be listed on their auction site (told that they get great values when listing on here). We were told all family photos would be put aside and saved for us. Here is what we got. -Our family photos were ALL thrown away due to a miscommunication between Wynnie her employee -We never received even 1 link to any of the auctions -We were never given updates without me having to ask repeatedly, even after stating that I was under the impression we would receive communications and was getting very frustrated due to the lack of communication -All items she deemed unsellable were "donated" (including an almost new expensive sewing machine, vintage Christmas items and a tree, an electric mitten dryer and so on...) -The auction site for CT gets a tiny fraction of what an item can sell for (for example my dads entire Dickens village sold for a tiny fraction of its worth even -resale worth) , art that was valued at $150-$500 sold for $50, 1 Dickens item sells for $150 on ebay (her CT auction sold it for $47) and so many more very depressing auctions - this was a huge disappointment and not what we were anticipating. I have many more examples but I will save the details- you get the idea -Wynnie was told that the situation was very sensitive and advised about a situation with the neighbors, her staff member not only communicated with the neighbors but shared personal details about the house and more, extremely unprofessional and an invasion of privacy Hopefully Wynnie and her team can use this to improve the way they handle other clients.

Nutshell: Lou's lack of follow through, failure to communicate, dismissive response when asked a…read morereasonable question about a contract, destruction of valuable property and refusal to remedy the situation in any way are all incredibly unprofessional. If he's too busy to respond to clients, then he's stretched too thin and can't be trusted to do the job properly. Full story: I had a disappointingly unprofessional experience with Lou and B Team. I had inventory from a vintage reselling business to liquidate and contacted Lou to see if that's something they handle. He assured me it was, and explained that he could either buy the inventory as a lot, or we could liquidate it piecemeal using his personal online auctions and eBay. We decided to do a trial run with a subset of items worth a few thousand dollars. I set up an appointment and delivered the discussed items, expecting to receive a consignment contract or at the very least a receipt. Lou said he'd send me the consignment contract in the following day or two. After four days had passed, I checked in and Lou said he'd have it to me by the following Monday at the latest. Monday came and went, and when Wednesday rolled around with no contract, I reached out again asking when I should look for our contract. Nothing. The next day I reached out again, and Lou's response was that he was really busy and I could either wait until he got around to drawing up the contract, or I could come get my items. Now, several of my items were already listed on his eBay account, and I had provided him with an itemized spreadsheet documenting the inventory I had delivered. This is his business, shouldn't he have a consignment contract template he can just cut and paste the specifics into? And he had time to list my property for sale but not to email me a contract? I was feeling unsettled, but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because I really wanted to find a vehicle for offloading the old inventory. When an entire month had passed with no contract, the unease was too much and I told Lou I was going to come get my property. We arranged a time, and when I got to the warehouse, neither Lou nor his wife Chris were there. Instead, a man I had never met let us in. As we unloaded things from their shelves, we discovered that the top of a stained glass lampshade had been smashed. It had broken pieces of glass dangling from the solder, and tiny shards of glass around it that would only be there if the break was recent. I took pictures and before removing it, pointed it all out - tiny shards and all - to the man who let us in. He told me that he couldn't do anything about it, but that I should reach out to Lou, who he said would make it right. I sent Lou the photos and asked how they handle it if a client's property is destroyed by them, rendering a previously valuable piece worthless. At this point I was completely unsurprised to receive no response whatsoever. And, since he never gave me a receipt or contract, I don't have any legal recourse. We've speculated that perhaps the smashed stained glass was WHY he refused to put anything in writing. All in all, I cannot recommendation B Team.

We hired the bTeam and Lou Barrett to liquidate an estate after the death of a family member…read more We were so happy to have their help initially, but have become more and more disappointed with each passing incident. Long story short, bTeam let their employees, friends, and family take sale property without paying for it. They also gave one of their employee's "romantic partner" the code to the key box at our home so they could come and take additional property that had been given to them by the bTeam and they had not paid for. We actually caught three of them in the home stealing at 0930 at night when we drove by to check the home the week following the sale!!! Since then, we have received numerous reports from family, neighbors, and friends who attended the sale that some items (probably the ones the employees wanted) were priced very high, while other things were priced very low. We tried to meet with them to resolve the dispute, and Lou Barrett DID meet with us, but basically told us that he did this job just like all of the others he has done. So, if you want to have your stuff given away rather than sold, and if you want the security of your home to be compromised and unauthorized friends/family of the employees given access to take things after hours, go ahead and hire the bTeam. After they refused to work with us to resolve our complaint, we had no choice but to file a complaint with the BBB. I just hope to help anyone else avoid feeling as ripped off as we do by the bTeam and Lou Barrett.
