The Lakeshore Treehouse Resort - final text, never heard back from her again

When I stayed the Marina was flooded when I asked the property manager about it she instructed me to have my child play in the flood water. The marina was flooded before I booked my trip but when I asked about the beach I was assured it would be perfect for my child. There was no distinction between swimming area or fishing area in the flooded sewage filled park. Where I was instructed to swim had a few people decked out in confederate flag gear blasting racist hate music fishing... I'm not looking to have my kid step on a fishing lure Misrepresented amenities, rude property manager. Will not recommend will not be back.

I would rate Rose Middleton and the Lakeshore Treehouse Resort as zero stars if that was possible…read more They are HORRIBLE.... STAY AWAY. This coming from a recurring customer who had stayed at the Treehouse's on about 6 different occasions and several of those we rented two treehouses. At over $250 per night (times 2 units) we were paying over $3,000 per week and have likely spent about $15,000 in total with Rose over the past few years. When the treehouses were new, they were clean and the amenities were very nice. As time has progressed Rose has obviously not re-invested in keeping those amenities up to date even though she charges PREMIUM rates. Blades missing from the ceiling fan, porch furniture is stained and gross, water spigots locked-up to prevent their use and the overall cleanliness has decreased significantly. The final straw was a result of her rude and unprofessional response to a polite and fair question from a renter. Our two little granddaughters were visiting and we asked if we could use the water spigot and hose to fill an inflatable pool for them. Rose responded with a very rude message saying that "..the hydrant is for maintenance use only..." and she "couldn't believe that we had the never to even ask". So... we carried water buckets from the shower and filled the baby pool. The following day her husband was near the resort and I asked him why they had been so rude over a simple request. He claimed that we had cut the lock off of the outside water spigot. Remember... we asked if we could use the spigot and were told no... we therefore carried buckets to fill the baby pool. If we were going to "cut the lock" I wouldn't have asked first. Rest assured we did not cut the lock off of the water spigot. Worse yet, Rose charged us an additional $100 for "property damage". Over the course of six years we spent thousands of dollars in rental fees with Rose Middleton and the Lakeshore Treehouse Resort. We have never damaged property nor have we ever been falsely accused of such. I would be happy to pay for any real damage that we were responsible for. We did not cut their padlock and the fact that they charged $100 for a $7 Master padlock should give every person who reads this pause about who they really are. Remember that when you book with them, they take your credit card number. If they decide you are guilty of something (regardless of whether you are or not) they hold the card number to charge you whatever they want - and they will. While we are obviously extremely frustrated with Rose... we do take comfort in knowing that whoever cut the lock off of the spigot was likely a tenant. That tenant might continue to be a customer of Lakeshore Treehouse and if they treated it like that last time... they will likely do it again. In the meantime, they have forever lost a good customer. BTW - Watch for Rose's response as I am confident that we will be called liars. She is very quick to do so. Trust the reviews on Rose and the Lakeshore Treehouse Resort and stay away from them. She is rude, mean and extremely unprofessional.
