Cheap alternative for young woman's fashion, similar to the divided range at h&m /forever 21 with great prices to match too. I picked up a nice skirt and casual blazer for 39 euro read more

An absolute must on any visit to Brussels. My son recently teased me about an Easter basket and I…read moreneeded to remind him, I literally flew to Belgium to secure Easter chocolates from at least 7 different Belgium chocolatiers to prep his Easter gifts this year. If that doesn't keep me out of a nursing home, I don't know what will! Bestie and I finished our morning waffles and the chocolate shopping began. We went in every single shop and others around town. Thank goodness for cool temps because we had so many treats! This is a beautiful area to spend some time. We left with an extremely robust selection. A couple of my Easter bunny's from Mary's broke in transit back to the states but most everything else remained in tack. I loved admiring all of the store fronts decorated for Easter.

The stores are definitely more high end, but this is a place to definitely seen and be seen. The holiday decor also elevated the experience and truly made the interior and atmosphere pop. My goodness. This…read moreshop is located on a major street that stretches forever and is lined with numerous shops and small eateries. I was looking for a big sweater since I did not come adequately prepared for the sudden cold (low 30's in the evenings). Primark is like your local Ross store but a step lower since about 80% of the clothing/accessories/shoes are not brand names, but I was surprised at how inexpensive yet trendy some of the items were. For example, they had a sale on men's jeans for 7 Euro. I purchased a scarf that was inexpensive but good luck if you need to try on anything. This store was packed to the brim. Inexpensive, good variety of items, and filled with a majority of locals from the other side of Brussels, if you understand the meaning.

As a teenager in the 80s I had quite the collection of Smurfs and of course I had to buy some on this journey. This is totally a touristy thing to do and I do t even care. No shame. I loved every minute of it. I have a friend who lived in Brussels and took her daughter there weekly to shop. So the locals love it too. Anyway, like any collectible store they have everything from figures and shirts to statues and more. The museum is also a must-visit for any fan. If you're in Brussels, check it out.

I am super grateful there is a Pierre Marcolini shop located here because I adore his chocolates but it does slightly hit the wallet. There's also a good cheese shop and I hit up Di for girly stuff at the same time. I haven't had much luck with the bread shop so tend to avoid it. There's also a C&A (similar to Macy's or JC Penney) which has great bargains from time to time. The one store I hate to shop at here is Proximus - don't get me wrong, am very glad it's here but the lines are so long, they either need to staff up, or expand store footage or have more seating. The people at the help desk (located in the middle of the mall) are always very friendly and there's always some sort of goodies available. Also suggest that you go thru mall magazine (also found at the help desk) because sometimes there are great coupons and deals to be found!

In the center of town near the Galeries de la Reine are several old world hat and umbrella shops that are a throwback to yesteryear. I'm talking the kind of stores with only a few models in the window but lots of stock hidden in the back that you need to have the vendor go and fetch for you depending on your size and preferences. I decided this year that I was NOT going to be cold this winter. After finding a great down jacket that is cosy glamor, my target was my head and my goal was to get it covered stylishly and well before the temperature dropped. I spotted an adorable knitted wool hat in the window and stepped inside Monsel for more investigating. Turns out that there were several other models in the same style, each hand-knitted in Nepal using thick, lush wool and available in lots of wearable colors. I settled on a dark grey cap with a faint air of Amelia Earhart that has a removable next strap. For 50E, it certainly wasn't cheap, but more than worth the price for its cute/quality ratio and the fact that I'd never seen or heard of the brand before.
