I called my friend who I was meeting up with and she said there was a parking garage directly behind the museum. As the name suggests, the entrance to the parking is on County Street. You just drive right in. The garage seems a bit dated. The concrete was not level and pretty dusty in there. The winning factor of this garage is the price and that warrants a 5-star rating alonet! The price is as follows: *Paid parking hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am - 6pm *$1.25/hour or $6 all day *Cars with disability placards can park for free for up to 4 hours * FREE parking on nights and weekends This was a great choice for parking when going to the Children's museum as the ground level leads directly to the back of the museum, without having to walk all the way back around the front on High Street. Nice to have a heated and air conditioned station vs a bench with an awning over it which sadly seems to be more of the norm these days. There is some parking, a few spaces between the train station and bus station, and another lot on the other side of the station. Lots are well lit but the area is fairly quiet at night so avoid leaving things out in view if you're leaving your car there while you're traveling.

If you go up to the upper levels you can get good views of Downtown. The garage is easy to get in and out of with the entrance on Corcoran and the spiral exit onto Ramseur. Both stairs and an elevator are options from the upper levels. Parking is generally free on nights after 7pm and the weekends although they do charge for special events. Edit: The parking garage is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'm not sure why Yelp will not put the correct hours.

There are also some large fans to help move some air as it gets hot and humid in Durham. The tickets are reasonably priced and it is good baseball. Parking can be a little tricky.. if you come from the right direction, you are pushed right into the parking garage. If you come from the wrong direction, which we did, you run into a lot of closed roads, etc. But it worked out. Definitely buy tickets ahead of time. We showed up once two years ago thinking(like most minor league games) you could get a ticket before the game... They were sold out. So we bought tickets on line. Also, if you want to get a spot in the garage, be there at least 30-45 min early. I am sure there is free parking somewhere that locals know about, but I just went with the 7$ parking. They also sell Durham Bull beer there which isnt half bad!! This is a great park and was a good time!

There were vending machines and restrooms - 1 of which I used and it was dirty & had gnats flying all around. I've been dropped off and picked up here 2x. They do not play and rush you on and off the train. So, don't be slow or you will get left. All in all, I will continue to use this station because it's close to my family, but I don't have high expectations and realize that I'm on my own when I come here. There's no security. No nothing. So, being aware of this, I will make sure I'm only catching it during the daytime.

It's home to many shops, restaurants, coffee, work out and work-in spaces, and there is plenty of parking underneath to make sure it's easily accessible. Highly recommend walking around the Christmas decorations at night or catching a concert there in the summer (Midtown Beach Music Series). There are also luxury apartments and several beautiful hotels in the area.

Tons of souvenirs and junk, plus snacks, but we were on a mission to get to South of the Border and all the junk there. There were several women in the bathroom, but they were incredibly sweet about me having brought a male careperson in. No one objected and you can't imagine what a relief that is to me every time that happens. The accessible stall was a tight squeeze but I was able to fit my entire wheelchair inside and shut the door. Love's is a truckstop and I was fascinated when they paged people to let them know that their showers were ready. Intrigued, I looked it up and it seems that the showers ARE accessible. Now I really want to see one. I have been on roadtrips before where I couldn't access a shower. That really put a damper on my mental health after a couple days. It's nice to know that I don't have to suffer, if there's a Love's around.
