AND Ice Cream!
Jerry P.

The text on the storefront promises chocolate, but the universe operates on a system of constant misdirection. Five of us wandered inside looking for ice cream instead. We were trying to recover from the physical indignity of ascending a mountain high enough that oxygen was treated as a luxury commodity. The government of Colorado apparently believes that every settlement in the entire state requires an abundant supply of frozen dairy. If true, this is an enlightened public policy. The shop was completely empty when we arrived. A lone young man stood behind the counter because his coworker was on break. He did not look at us with the despair usually reserved for a sudden crowd. He simply smiled and began scooping with the enthusiastic efficiency of a soldier waiting for reinforcements. I purchased a double scoop containing Salted Peanut Butter Cup and a flavor called Moose on the Loose. The second flavor contained enormous chunks of fudge that were buried deep within the cream like forgotten treasure. It was exactly the sort of heavy molecular fuel a human body requires after arguing with a giant rock. There was also a glass cooler filled with vintage sodas. Nostalgia routinely robs my wallet before my intellect can mount a defense. I purchased an RC Cola and spent ten minutes explaining to the members of our group born in the 90's that there was a time in human history when cola came in more than two respectable varieties. The ice cream was excellent and my history lesson was free. If you find yourself in Manitou Springs with tired lungs, you could do a great deal worse.

the ice cream was so good. So creamy & high quality. Large portions. The peanut butter Oreo cookie one was so good and same with the cherry chip. My whole family loved it!!! Open later than other ice cream shops in the area

Tasty spot for some ice cream and souvenirs in manitou springs. Really liked their ube ice cream that was filled with chocolate chips and was creamy as well. Get your fill of fridge magnets and sweet treats to start or end your day with a smile.

Chocolate chip cookie dough - single scoop

Stumbled across this ice cream spot after dinner. There were a few options that stuck out for me - including what was the Colorado cookies n cream. Apparently it's not your typical Oreo cookies n cream, but it has a chocolate base. Unfortunately, there wasn't much of it available after like 7:30pm, so I settled for my 2nd favorite flavor: chocolate chip cookie dough. First, those cookie dough chunks were something else. Nice, huge, and plentiful! Also, I appreciate a generous single scoop. This was more than plenty for me and I'd highly recommend anyone to visit. At $3.99/single scoop, that's a damn good deal.

Our group of 7 walked in in search for something sweet after a great dinner. Half of us got ice cream and the other half got chocolates. I can't remember what flavors of ice cream they had but I know their scoops were huge and they all had waffle cones. I opted for chocolates for the plane ride back home. I was a little disappointed they didn't have marzipan but they had a huge selection of candies I forgot all about them. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to give us a coupon for 10% off their sister store..which was perfect because we wanted some coffee. Great little gem in the middle of Manitou Springs!

Just finishing the Manitou incline and desperate for ice cream, we came to this place since it has the shortest line among other ice cream shops in sight. Got 2 scoops with green tea and strawberry flavor. Note, if you are looking for a matcha flavor, this green tea flavor is not it! Overall, solid ice cream flavor and texture.

Reasonably priced ice cream inside a tourist town on Main Street. There's around 4-5 ice cream places in Manitou Springs but this had a reasonable line and selection. We got the green tea and strawberry flavor; price and portions were reasonable and it's a good treat during the summer!

The ice cream menu is limited but delicious

Delicious ice cream and plenty of fudge to choose from... You must stop by as your walking the downtown area

All the flavors we tried out were great. Did not try the chocolate but those looked good as well. They are associated with Red Dog Coffee 3 doors East. We went into Red Dog Coffee and they have a few different flavors of ice cream including coffee ice cream which looked good. Pikes Peak has more options and more flavors. But they are close together so you can check both places before you decide. Will need to go back to test them out. We walked into Red Dog first and they gave us a coupon for Pikes Peak.

What a wonderful experience it is to drop by Pikes peak chocolate and ice cream. I have probably stopped by here a handful of times and I love it each time! Here are the reasons why I love this place and I highly recommend it! Great atmosphere and staff: The atmosphere is beautiful. The gorgeous chocolate display and the cute trinkets provide a fun and visually stimulating experience. Because there is so much to see the line usually goes by quick. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. They are always smiling and eager to help which makes for such a great experience each time. Great dessert: Let me mention that they have tons of chocolate and ice cream options. The chocolate and fudge gets me every time and is amazing! But my favorite thing to get is the REDBULL SHAKE! They are the reason I discovered the existence of REDBULL SHAKES! After trying this shake my life has never been the same. When I read REDBULL milkshake on the menu I was intrigued and slightly nervous! As a Red Bull fanatic, I had to order it and sure enough, it became love at first sip! I am still amazed at how they can mix Redbull and dairy and create a perfect concoction! PRICING: For a high quality chocolate and ice cream shop in Manitou Springs, it is priced right! In fact, it's so worth it and when you check in on yelp they often have great rewards. Like a free truffle or 10% off! I absolutely love this place for many reasons but overall it is a great place where I am able to take my daughter and make life long memories! Plus, It is where I get my Red Bull and ice cream fix! If you are in Manitou Springs and want some dessert definitely stop by Pikes Peak ice cream & chocolate!

Pikes Peak Chocolate hosted us for a Yelp event where I tried an ice cream shake and my friend had a double scoop cone. They have ube ice cream which I was super excited about since it's so hard to find that in COS! Mix it with the oatmeal ice cream and you have a delightful shake ready to be devoured. Friendly staff and great treats! They have a great variety of josh and johns ice cream along with desserts like bonbons and cookies. Unfortunately there isn't any indoor seating which makes it hard to meet up with friends in the winter. Otherwise a wonderful place to satisfy your sweet tooth while walking around Manitou Springs!

Oh good. They do have ice cream. Fun cones too.

Good ice cream. Even better if you just ran the incline. It's okay if you just walked the incline too. You still deserve ice cream. Of course I went for the waffle cone. It's the best cone of the bunch and we all know it. The oatmeal cookie was something different from flavors you'll find elsewhere and one worth getting. Naturally, there's also lots of chocolate to be had here. It all looked good but I can only do so much. Whatever your sweet tooth desires, I'm sure you'll find something here to satisfy.

Anna has a wonderful selection of dried herbs, tinctures, teas, candles, salves and even supports other local artists in her shop. I want to emphasize on the fact that this apothecary is supporting "body choice" during this pandemic (which I love, respect and support small businesses like this for) and is not medically discriminating anyone if they wear a mask or not in the store - it's your choice! We were on the hunt for a cold beverage and a nice place to sit, and this is honestly the only place in town that we found that satisfied our criteria. We walked in and it was a little bit confusing that you were handed a menu, but had to go claim a table and figure out what number table it was, and then come back inside to order, it felt very disjointed. We noticed that it was happy hour, so chose two beverages that were listed, and they were out of one of them. My brother ordered a tap beer, and they never brought it out, we waited quite a while and then he went back inside and got it. It was a little bit confusing, since they had been so adamant to go figure out what table we wanted, and then they never brought out what we ordered. We probably would have ordered several drinks but since it took so long we decided to move on. The (I think) owner was outside, tending to the patio, and enjoying the music. It was a little overbearing, but I think he was just passionate, giving gifts to the children and being hospitable. The best part was the very good live music, and the large water they brought to our table. I also enjoyed the people watching since it's right on the street.
