My favorite apothecary in Colorado, hands down. As a fellow herbalist, I love how you can bag your own dried bulk herbs! The staff are so friendly, welcoming, helpful and informative. Anna has a wonderful selection of dried herbs, tinctures, teas, candles, salves and even supports other local artists in her shop. The atmosphere is so cute, quaint and vibrant, I would apply to work here if I lived closer! I want to emphasize on the fact that this apothecary is supporting "body choice" during this pandemic (which I love, respect and support small businesses like this for) and is not medically discriminating anyone if they wear a mask or not in the store - it's your choice! I respect store owners that are supporting the freedom of choice, especially when it comes to health and our basic human rights as individuals. Highly recommend this apothecary to anyone in the Springs! read more

I have been searching for an apothecary for a little and it was right under my nose the whole time!!! My best friend took me here on 06/12/21, she said she knew I'd fall in love. Fall in love I did! I love using herbs for natural remedies and making teas and I will be able to shop local to do so now! I'm coming for you marshmallow root around fall time lol! They have just about anything you can think of/need in here. I do have to confess I'm somewhat of a beginner so from my point of view I should say, they have everything. To wrap this up the store was absolutely stunning, the lady working that day was wonderful (she even gave me the name of her stylist because I've been looking for someone who can cut curly hair!), and I can't wait to come back again already. read more

Great store for quality, handmade products. A friend of mine visited the area 3 years ago and loved the hand salve she got at Anna's Apothecary so much, she asked me get some for her when I was visiting Colorado Springs. The store itself smells incredible - and so do the products! I love that things are made with minimal ingredients - as someone with skin allergies, this is very important! I got their hand salve and lip balm in peppermint - both are fantastic. read more

Anna's Apothecary is an interesting place. I didn't know what to expect. When I was walking around downtown Manitou Springs, I saw this Apothecary and decided to check it out. Where I come from (Atlanta, Ga) we don't have many Apothecaries. Of course, I come to find out that Apothecaries seem prevalent in Colorado. After Anna's, I started seeing them more in other places. It diminished the novelty factor when I found that out. But this place still had the charm. It sold a bunch of tonics, salves, elixir, tinctures, etc. of medicinal nature. It looked like a good place for a witch to shop in to make her bubbling cauldron. They didn't have bat wings or eye of newt though (or maybe I didn't look hard enough). The salesperson who helped us was helpful. She knew a lot about each items on the self. They have a ton of mixtures and teas that supposedly cure any ailment you can think of. Was she selling Snake Oil (maybe they actually had snake oil as well)? I'm not sure. But placebo is a hell of a drug. The stuff here is a bit expensive. I mean, I guess insurance won't cover chaga mushroom tincture. It's okay, I'm sure some of these stuff have health benefits. If you were an out-of-town visitor like me, what happens if you run out of your magic elixir? No worries, they sell everything online. So you don't have to worry about not having your bitter tea to balance your qi. Next door they had a cool chocolate shop. But that will be separate review. I loved my experience here. The staff seemed friendly, and they have some cool stuff. This is a solid 4 star place. read more

I love this place. I go here quite often to stock up on natural remedies. The ladies are wonderfully friendly and so patient. I asked questions for 30 minutes today and never felt like I was bothering them. I enjoy supporting local businesses and this one is even better because it is all natural remedies. Their anti-inflammatory tincture is spectacular. And I recently discovered their amazing hot chocolate. They have a bottle return policy that allows you to return their bottles for a quarter. I'm just thrilled they reuse! I'm big on that kind of thing. I would return the bottles even if they didn't have the $.25 discount on future purchases. Look forward to supporting this business for a good, long while! While in the store today I heard a woman say she is from Arizona and they have been shipping to her. So, there is obviously something great about this place that makes even people who /aren't/ locals shop here. read more

Anna's Apothecary - Herbs & Spices Near Me - Manitou Springs, Colorado

I used to love this place, and shopped here frequently. However, I became concerned in 2020 that they were not following state mandated safety precautions for covid, such as masking and social distancing. Now, having learned that the owner has gone so far as to question other Manitou businesses' employees as to why they require customers to wear masks indoors (as required by both state and local mandates), and bragged about not having any such requirements in their store, I cannot in good conscience continue to support this business. I feel that for a business supposedly built on supporting people's well being, to so blazenly flaunt their disregard for their customers' and employees' health and safety, is nothing short of hypocritical. There are other fantastic apothecaries in Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, who still operate with integrity, ethics, and genuine respect for their communities and care for their health. read more

Okay so this place smells AMAZING. As soon as you walk inside you want to smell everything. However, I felt like the prices were truly insane. $8 for a TINY thing of lipbalm?! I guess they can get away with the prices based on their location being mostly trafficked with tourists read more

This is hands down one of the best apothecaries in the country! The selection is incredible, and the owners are true gifts to the community. Such knowledgeable, caring, incredible humans! read more

Oh my goddess. A natural and organic place of homeopathic compounding by three mindful sisters? A bit of magic I believe. I love this place. I want to bask in the goodness and dwell and just investigate all the little concoctions this charmed shop has to offer. Lucky for this non-Coloradan, they have an online store. This is a sweet store in a most enchanted mountain town that is actually connected with a sweets shop of raw chocolates and kombucha on tap. I came in because I had some ailments that I needed some help with. I can't say yet about the efficacy, but I have much hope and will update with the specifics later. But regardless, I love this place. I wished I lived in Manitou Springs. read more

It is a super cool store on the inside, but they were extremely rude. The day I went in they were doing psychic readings in the middle of the store and the lady told me that I needed to go away because it was private. If you do not want people to hear your business, then I would suggest finding a more private location. Also, definitely just being more considerate. read more

I was happily spending time with the family when I had a sudden onset of a severe migraine. The headaches cause severe muscle spasms. My medicine usually takes the edge off the headache but the spasms I've always eased with muscle relaxers but that means I'm headed to bed. I was trying to be tough but was about to give up and go back to the room. I literally stumbled in and somehow left with a balm. Within 15 minutes I had more relief than I usually get from my rx. My knots are smaller than they've been in 2 years. I'm going to be getting this shipped on a regular basis to Texas! Thanks for saving my vacay! read more

Such a unique and enlightening experience. There is no shop that you can even compare to this shop, and it is just so fun to browse and ask questions. The girls that work here are incredibly knowledgeable and sweet. One of the best shops in Manitou Springs! read more

What review would not be complete without Anna's Apothecary! Want to learn about natural health remedies then Anna's is the place. Employees will educate you on all the teas and tinctures they have on the wall and make you feel welcomed. Grab a chocolate goodie on the way out, you won't be disappointed. We actually had a custom tea made for us and was well worth the money spent. It cleared up our sinus and bronchial issues that all other teas have failed to do. To buy tea from a store and not from Anna's is seriously a waste of money. read more

Absolutely wonderful store! They share room with a chocolate shop, but have a great selection of tonics, tincture, teas, herbs, and more. Will be back in when we are in town! read more

Great local business to support! Love their bath bombs and variety of products! Good prices as well!

First off, you walk in and the smell is absolutely divine. I want my house to smell like this shop all the time. The girl who helped us was super nice, approachable, and very knowledgeable about their products. Wasn't pushy by any means but was very informative and passionate about what they were selling, which I can really appreciate. The real reason I'm leaving this review though is the lavender powder. It's actual magic in a bottle. There were a lot of uses that were described to me but my main interest was as a dry shampoo and I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever use anything else. It smells fantastic and gives my hair such great volume, something that I have never experienced with other dry shampoos. It gives a nice texture to my hair without being dry or gritty and does a lot of leg work with keeping me presentable when I'm going on 3 or 4 days without washing my hair. I am so in love and thoroughly impressed with it, plus the price is comparable for what you'd pay at lush and goes a lot farther in my experience. Love this place and their products, I will definitely be coming back. read more

Anna is for real. Her tinctures are the only cure for my digestion issues.

I love this place. I've stopped in a couple times but only bought some tinctures and teas today. Anna, the owner and medicine maker, is extremely knowledgable and helpful. She gave me several excellent suggestions for my needs, and when she did not have an herb that would help with one of my needs, she was honest and told me so instead of taking advantage of my ignorance in order to make me spend more money. I will definitely be back! read more

I have the WORST eczema (extreme dry skin). I've had it my whole life. Recently I got a very bad case of it on my right hand. I went to a dermatologist twice and she perscribed a steroid cream that didn't work. Then she perscribed another cream. Luckily I read the phamplet before applying because as it turns out it causes Lymphoma, and can't be use by breastfeeding mother's like me, and it can't be used on open wounds like mine. She obviously didn't pay attention to my medical records. Ugh. And she wanted to do some week long invasive and expensive patch test! Long story short. 1 visit to Anna's and she recommended sarsaparilla balm, queen of Hungary water, and detoxifying bath clay. 1 night of using these awesome natural products and my hand is markedly better! I'm so excited that it's working and I'm so greatful to awesome people like Anna who know that natural is best! Excited to go back for all my health needs! read more
