Unfortunately, the DoorDash experience was rough. We were contacted about a substitution (peach cobbler wasn't available), but the call came through as spam on our phone. After that, there was no immediate notification when the food was dropped off, so it sat outside longer than it should have and arrived cold. This feels like a case of great food undermined by third-party delivery issues. Because the food was genuinely good, we plan to retry Buckboard's in person, where it can be enjoyed the way it's meant to be. I'd recommend dining in or picking up directly rather than delivery.

Everything is INSANE. I've even interviewed the "meat guys" who hang out with the giant smokers in the back lot and basically babysit the meat 24/7. They take their job very seriously, and it shows in the quality of the meat! The bartender made me a mezcal margarita once, and I had three that night and now think of them often. It's what gets me back in the door here. The mezcal marg and the meat. The live music is always awesome. We came recently and saw the Blind Miles Blues Band play - their vibe fit with the ambiance of the restaurant so well. It was awesome that our kids were able to run around and play while we ate dinner and talked. I am SO thankful for a restaurant that has food this good that also freely welcomes families with kids! Pioneer Bbq smokes their meats with white oak which gives their meats a smoky flavor without the bitter aftertaste. Pork baby back ribs were tender and had a smoky aroma and flavor from the white oak.  Dry rub gave the ribs a bit of sweetness from the brown sugar and some spice from the black pepper.  Very tasty. Prime beef brisket was tender and juicy.  Peppercorn based dry rub and the smoky flavor combined with the high quality beef into some delicious brisket.
