The Ringgold, GA was a great place to work. The people were awesome and the work was fun, if you enjoy that kind of work. Human Resources on the other hand are by far the worst group of people I've ever encountered. Jennifer and Julie were always very unprofessional and rude. Jennifer actually had the audacity to raise her voice to my wife, who was not even an employee. These two are the most selfish, inconsiderate people I've ever came across. read more

Pike on Lavista has a great selection of quality plants. They charge more than Home Depot and Lowe's, but shrubs I buy from Pike, for example, tend to have a higher "success rate" than those from Home Depot and Lowe's. In addition to annuals, perennials and shrubs, Pike also carries trees and sod. There is a "markdown" plant section in the very back, which I did not notice before the bankruptcy case, and I picked up a nice deciduous tree for $25.00. At times, they also carry stone. Pike has gotten out of much of the household goods/patio furniture business, freeing up room for more plants under the "greenhouse tent." Good riddance. The patio goods were "old ladyish" and overpriced, anyway. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Not all speak English, however. read more

The 1 star was for neatness of the store. Lived in that area for 11 years. Never have I went into a store in this area and felt the way i felt. Didn't feel welcome. As if black people don't garden. Well I do!!! So yes we do. I heard them ask my significant other a question. He then told me what they said. It was assumptive and rude. There was no warmth , jist eyes and following. I felt it. He felt it. But we never said anything until we left. Once we both realized we both felt it, we won't be going back there. Went in for seeds and left spending 40 dollars, for a quote pic that meant a lot to us. That's the best though. Just wanted to feel welcome. read more

I thought that all the Pikes had closed down - but the Pike on LaVista is still going strong. The prices are a little more expensive than that of your local super-hardware store but the knowledge of the employees is priceless. Everyone who works here is willing to take time with you to make sure you understand all your gardening options, and also to introduce you to products you may not know about that would be helpful. There isn't any sales pressure, just friendly people who don't mind sharing their knowledge. Even if you know exactly what you want - make sure to stroll through their outdoor garden section - it's beautiful and worth taking in! read more

I'm a bit indifferent about this place. The variety of house plants was pretty impressive, but I wasn't that happy with the variety vegetables to get my garden going. I found a better selection at Lowe's. Service was friendly for the most part, but there were a few folks who didn't look too happy to be there and they weren't all that helpful. I'd go back for the good house plant selection because they do have good sales from time to time. read more

I'm happy and satisfied! I needed to buy my parents their tree and had let this kind of lag; Home Depot had Christmas 'shrubs' available and I was looking for a 7 footer. Their team was helpful and the trees were cheap - yes, it was close to Christmas, but it was a beautiful tree for under $60 and was over 7'. Parents were thrilled. read more

I found this store to have a wide variety of plants not seen at my regular plant store home depot. The prices are a bit higher but I did enjoy the variety and how the store is set up. My only gripe which took away stars was one particular item I purchased was a flower pot with the plants already planted in it. The sticker on the pot in my mind is the price of the item as it was in a section with other pots with plants already in them. But once at the register they said the sticker price was not the correct price. They said they made an error and did not charge for the plants. When I looked at the other pots with plants already in them they had same price on 6 different ones. They would not go ahead and honor the price on their tag. I went ahead even though I was not happy at all bought the planter since I had just picked out all the other $280 worth of plants I had selected to match up with this particular planter. Normally I would make a stink about something like this but I was in a hurry and just paid the extra $20 which was their estimate on how much the plants were. This has sealed my decision to shop elsewhere. Which is too bad as I would have shopped here again to beautify my yard. read more

Others have commented on the prices, but two things for me overcame that: 1. The shrubs that I was buying for my patio were full-grown (2 Sky Pencils and a couple of more colorful plants), not starters, so I expected to pay more. 2. They also have a money-back guarantee; if one of the plants dies and I still have the receipt, they will give me another plant. Luckily I have a decently green thumb so I haven't needed their guarantee. They have a good selection of glazed pots, but they don't have much in the way of lightweight/fibreglass pots for container or balcony gardening. I found their staff helpful, and a couple were particularly knowledgeable and helpful in selecting plants for my indirect-light balcony. I'll definitely be back. read more

I've bought about $1000 worth of plants from Pikes over the past year, as I've updated our landscaping and refreshed some of our beds. The plants I've gotten have almost always been extremely healthy and robust, and very few have died. Like a few others, I have not always found the employees to be terribly helpful (it's hit or miss, some are really excited about plants, some are clearly there because it's their job), and the plant selection is smaller and more expensive than Home Depot. My HD plants, though, have had around a 75% death rate, so I'd rather pay a little more for a plant that will live. read more

This is one the absolute worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Brought two plants (tall topiaries) back alive (but in a leaf drop Cycle) -they didn't fit our space and was initially told to pick out what I wanted to exchange them for. After we had made our selection and were trying to check out, the assistant manager said no they wouldn't do the return due to policy (I had a receipt and it hadn't even been 30 days) Then we were just going to leave with the plants we had come in with, but they had already thrown one of my original plants in the trash. Eventually he made it right and let us do an exchange which is the only reason I'm not giving them one star. However, Pike has definitely lost a customer in me. read more

I ordered on line the new collection for fall, Violas and Pansy, the colors they try to sale to me where different then ordered. instead of bright red showed in advertisement, they try to give me Brown, saying it will be red in the sun. they did not have color max in stock, so they replace it with other color that i did not want, then they try to sale me pricier flowers. thank you for wasting my time. read more

While Pike Nursery is my favorite place to shop for plants, the landscape service was a giant disappointment. We paid $400 to have a skilled person come check out the front of our condo and create a landscape plan for us. What we got was something we couldn't read or understand. There were no explanations of abbreviations, symbols, etc. There was no indication of how high a rock wall would be, no drawing of the design from the ground - only an abstract, one dimensional drawing from above. We had no clue what we were looking at. I will always buy plants and pots from Pike, but I will never pay for another service. read more

For the Pike Nursery at Toco Hills. There are many late nights chainsaws cutting trees that go beyond 10PM since late November (2 weeks now). This is very disturbing and many residents in our apartment complex also experienced the same thing. Our leasing manager has spoken to the manager Jordan and the issue still not properly addressed. I will never shop there and everyone I know will never shop there! On November 29, 2016 Pike Nurseries' truck hit my brand new car when drove by me on Holcomb Bridge Road and NEVER pulled over to see if I was okay.   I filed a complaint with Pike's HR and the driver was grounded. Days after Pike's CEO Michael Kunce informed me that they are not responsible to pay for my car's damages and denied all charges and even had the guts to say that according to him and Pike Nurseries that "the accident never happened" Hit and Run is illegal!!! Fess up Pike and pay my damages!!! I have your truck's license plate  number. You will not get away with this.  Michael Kunce, you should be ashamed of yourself and the way you run your business and your coward employees! read more

A HUGE selection of plants and trees but they are pretty expensive. The workers were friendly and eager to help out.

Three weeks ago, we visited Pike's on Lavista to order some large trees for our back yard. Two shade trees and a dogwood were supposed to be planted this afternoon. We had paid for them (over $2000) and waited at home for the landscape crew to arrive. To our surprise, we got a call late in the afternoon telling us our order was not on its way and asking if we would switch to smaller trees (2" rather than 3" diameter) because the ones we had ordered were too large for Pike's truck and Pike's crew to handle. The only other alternative was a refund, so we took it. Clearly, people get larger trees planted near their homes; I guess they do not get Pike's to do it. read more

If you need a plant, Pike's will probably have it. The staff is really helpful and friendly, and the selection is enough to keep you transfixed for hours (assuming you like plants). They do a great job of raising quality plants that you'll be happy to take home for your garden or to surprise mom. If only I had a garden for my 3rd floor apartment... read more

My sister and I went to Pike to attempt an overhaul of a totally neglected garden. Needless to say, we are novice gardeners. Even though Pike was thronged on this particular Saturday, every staff member we encountered was exceedingly helpful, thoughtfully outlining our options and the benefits and drawbacks of each. A friendly sales associate walked us through all the options she thought might be appropriate for our various needs and answered our half-baked questions about how to plant, when, where, what, etc. She was eager to point us to the least expensive and hardiest options. Another associate gave us the run-down on pine straw, but encouraged us to try to harvest some from our wasteland of a garden - apparently natural pine straw is more nutrient rich, and obviously cheaper. A third associate informed us that we had more planting soil than we needed for the plants we were purchasing and that we might want to put some back on the shelf. This was also helpful - all the staff members were looking out for what we actually needed rather than trying to fleece us of our cash. The same associate also loaded our bounty into our car later. Finally, the cashier was helpful, efficient, and friendly. Overall, Pike has an excellent selection (in my inexperienced opinion), everyone is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, and although the prices may be high (as other reviewers have noted), the staff will help you save money by making the right choices. It was an excellent experience and I will shop there again. Unless all my plants die, in which case, I will never garden again. read more

Now if you're looking for plants flowers trees bushes this is the place you want to come to. They have everything you need when it comes to plants I love this place. The staff here are wonderful people to deal with they will help you find whatever you need. They have lots of insecticides to help treat bugs. I give the store a overall out of four stars for being great. read more

I find the Christmas trees at the Buck head location is poor. Way over priced for what you get and the staff was not helpful. Lowe,s had much better selection and prices. The wreaths...well just forget that unless you want to pay $99.00. Absolutely, no returns unless it is a annual plant. Don't care much for this place. read more

Yipes. Sure its nice and fancy looking...but for being the same plants as anywhere else...they are Way overpriced on virtually everything!

Having head about Pike from several people now, I expected it to be ridiculously expensive, but the prices weren't all that bad in my eyes. Or perhaps it's because I recently moved here from DC and everything there is eye-poppingly expensive compared to Atlanta. I don't have a yard so I'm always in the houseplant section, and pretty soon I had found a beautiful little tree that I loved. The problem... I couldn't find a price on it. Problem #2... I couldn't find anybody to ask. The line at the cashier's was about ten people long and I didn't want to stand around to ask for something I might not buy. Eventually, after about twenty minutes, I found an employee in the landscaping section - and the poor guy was being trailed by several other people, all in the same boat. Poor guy could only carry so many unlabeled plants at once! Eventually I found out that the price of my little tree was just $6.99, not bad at all, and I decided that I would get it. Being picky though, I thought I would go back and take a look at the selection and make sure that I had picked out a good one. On a whim, I rubbed one of the leaves between my fingers - and felt something like little pebbles. Flipped over the leaf to see - horror - a GAZILLION tiny little pearl-like bugs. Seriously, the underside of the leaf - and every other leaf - was covered. I checked all the other offerings of that species and they too, were equally infested. Yikes! Needless to say, I didn't buy it. I think that was an anomaly, though; the selection overall was fantastic, and all the other plants I saw looked healthy. Ideally I would have liked to let someone know about their bug infestation... but again, couldn't find an employee anywhere and didn't want to bother man-juggling-fifty-unlabeled-pots (which is the only reason I'm taking a star off of this review). I'll definitely come back when I have a more definite idea of what I want to add to my indoor garden. read more

Every year, our family heads to Pike for our Christmas tree. They always have a great selection at a fair price. We had no idea of the tree shortage until we arrived at the store last night around 6pm. It was completely picked over and they said they had sold a record number of trees this year. They told us to come back tomorrow. We did. Rebecca provided outstanding customer service. She asked what we were looking for and help us scour the lot. Although we left without a tree, the experience was such a great one that I felt compelled to leave this review. Five stops later, we found a tree for twice the price of those at Pike. We won't wait to tree shop next year! read more

I visited this Pike Nursery today to shop for a Japanese Maple tree. I had trouble finding an associate to help me. I finally asked a young man if he could tell me anything about the trees, and he said "only what is on the tag". He didn't offer to find someone for me. Then, I went to the area where the cash register is located and saw an associate on the phone talking to a customer. I waited until he was finished, and asked if anyone at the store could help me with info about Japanese Maples. He asked what I wanted to know, and we had a short conversation about the tree. He didn't offer to go look at the trees with me and help me out. So, instead of selling me a 119-225 dollar tree, I left with two plants on clearance and I paid 2.00 and some change (a great deal for a couple of plants on clearance!). I will try not to visit this location again. read more

Terrible quality and worse service. We bought $50 worth of flowers for a windowbox. The flowers were recommended by a Pike employee for this purpose. They died within a couple of weeks, despite regular watering. When I called to inform them of this, I was simply told "sorry, no refunds". Total indifference bordering on rudeness. Worst customer service ever or should I say lack of customer service! Visited this location this afternoon to look for terrarium plants. Went to the display but didn't see what I wanted. They had the plant I wanted in a display terrarium. Wanted to inquire about availability. No employee offered to help me. Several walked right by me and looked at me but none asked if they could help me. I waited over 30 minutes by the display. I have shopped at this location for 20 years and have never had this kind of experience. I finally stopped an employee and relayed my experience to him and asked him for the location of their nearest location as I was not going to shop at Lavista again. He apologized but I told the my experience was extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory. Suggested to him that he contact management to relay my frustration and that perhaps they should train employees regarding customer service as their jobs depended on it. So disgusted with this location. Perhaps since they thought that I was only going to buy a few $2 plants that they weren't going to waste their time with me. read more

Avoid this store! The staff is not customer service oriented! I had another bad experience this morning hence my reason for writing this review. I drive out of my way to visit the Lindbergh store and the Buckhead store on Roswell Rd. I have been given wrong advice twice by the Toco Hills location. I love Pikes. I love the variety of plants they offer. Where else can you find Japanese forest grass in July! Certainly not in the large box stores. Matt and Kathy are the two managers of the Buckhead and Lindbergh stores respectfully and are a pleasure to work with. The staff at the Toco Hills location have a lot to learn. I understand their manager is relocating to the Lindbergh store. Please don't mess up a great store who ever you are. read more

I went in there yesterday and 80% of the plants and trees are dried up, especially the ones outside of the cover. For the prices that they charge, you would think that they would water them to keep them alive and looking better! When I called another location about sod they said Toco Hills and Buckhead have sod.....when I got to Toco Hills they said Buckhead had sod. I don't have this much time to drive around. read more

A landscape designer with Pikes drew a lovely plan for our yard. We signed the contract and paid half the cost of the installation. Pikes does not do the prep work for their projects, so I had to get estimates from other landscape companies. This was very hard to do because there was no clear indication of exactly what prep was required. Finally Pike decided they'd see about doing it themselves. Their estimate was about two-thirds of the installation. We were shocked. We'll try to get other estimates, and the designer has indicated that she will help to explain the project to them. We are almost 2,000 dollars into a project that hasn't even stared yet and feel very naive to have agreed without understanding fully about the cost of clearing and prep. Buyer Beware. read more
