The people that run this place are good local folks that care about their community, and they deserve your patronage. Part grocery, part knick-knack shop, part sporting goods store, part tavern, part boat repair shop, and part anything-else-you-might-need-in-this-part-of-the-world, I think it's fair to day that this store has been keeping locals fed and afloat for a long time. And I hope they continue to for many years to come.

I mean, look at those photos I posted…read more Here we have a Bayou Bodega, only 10X better because they have a lit up Christmas tree gracing the entryway, serve all your boating needs (gas up your yacht from the dock), interesting snacks (fried peanuts in the shell!), and a lovely backyard where you can sit and enjoy the snacks. Or play with a kitty. Or stand on the dock and watch the sun drip down over the trees and the still bayou. And the owners are extremely warm and friendly (I wish they'd adopt me).

We ordered a foot long Tuna on Italian herb and cheese toasted jalapeño chips a lemonade and white macadamia cookies, Meatball Sub on Oat bread, Sun Chips Lemonade and Chocolate chips cookie. She pays for it using her debit card. She said we placed our order on line but it never confirmed the young lady said yes our phone system and internet are acting up. So she paid. When she got home they hadn't put the cookies in the bag. So she went back. The young lady said you forgot something laughing she said yes you forgot to put the cookies in my bag. So she got the cookies then came home. The next day she looked at her bank account and she was charged double for our order. So I went to the store and spoke to the lil guy and young lady that were working. I said is the Manager are owner in. They replied no sir but can I help you. I explained what had happened the lil guy tried to pull up the order on the register but said it only went back so many hours. So I left the receipt and my number with the lil guy and young lady who were working and asked them to have the owner call me. We were never contact. Which is in my opinion very poor customer service and lack of care about their customers. All I wanted was to be contacted to get the matter addressed which never happened! These are without a doubt, the greatest cake donuts I have ever had. I usually hate eating cake donuts. Too often, I find them too doughy or dry. These however, were soft, sweet, and extremely delicious. They also go great dipped in coffee or milk. There is a slim chance that I will be going back to New Orleans in the future.
