C'est Bon! I was so excited to come to this Cajun grocery…read morestore! This store is located in Breaux Bridge, which is the crawfish capitol of the world, so you know it's gotta be good. Walking in, you can see that they are serious about keeping things cool- this is one of very few grocers that I've seen that sells huge blocks of ice, not little cubes in a bag, but big bricks of the cold stuff. Inside the store, you'll see all kinds of Cajun foods that you can't get in Yankee land. I enjoyed looking through their pre-made foods for their southern style cooking. Be sure to check out their sandwiches. Everything looked delicious! Someone makes them some of their local foods- I got some pepper jelly that was made especially for this location! The store was a bit dated, and not as fancy as some that you may have been in, but it makes up for it in charm. They have lots of the best Cajun brands, as well as some national ones as well. The prices were a bit higher than some other stores, but you're out here in the bayou, so it's hard to get. The clerks were friendly though. There's a small liquor store in the corner of the store. They sell all the national brands, but don't expect anything wild.

For lots of people from out of town it is a must stop at while in Western Louisiana for some of their wonderful Boudin or their nearly world famous jalapeño sausage cheese bread. As you walk into the store the sweet smell of meat being gently smoked wafts through the store. The boudin election is impressive and ranges from green onion to traditional, crawfish in season, deer, and a newer jalapeño boudin. They sell fresh and frozen - including all kinds of interesting and fun things like boudin egg rolls (oh yes - really - and they are mmm mmmm good), boudin balls, étouffe, gumbo, hogshead cheese, cracklins, and more In addition to the specialty meats they are also known for their jalapeño sausage cheese bread. Mmm that's good. Definitely worth a stop for specialty meats and food and for anything else you can honestly image you would need. It's a gem of a place

I am a bread pudding aficionado and there's is the best I've ever had! I will make the 2-hour round trip drive just to get some of their bread pudding. My only wish is that they sold full pans of it and not just individual servings.

We did get there very early talking before 10am they were so sweet and amazing still letting us order what was available and answering any and many questions we had regarding food options. Service was 5 out of 5 for our first moment in LA everyone was so kind and made our journey so worth it. We got the crawfish fettuccine with the Crawfish dressing and regular rice and an amazing biscuit. (Honestly I could order a dozen just for the road back) All the food was a 10 out of 5 and so sad I don't live closer as I know I will be dreaming of this food for the rest of my life! They have other food there like a grocery store and really thinking of going back just to buy some for the freezer for when I miss it most. And always like to take a moment to talk about the restrooms and when going to places like that I don't expect the nicest bathroom but they shocked the mess out of me. By far the best restrooms. If there is a way to give a place more then 5 I would give them 10 out of 5 over all!!! Will be coming back!

The Butcher here makes some awesome chicken & apple sausage. WOZA. The best way to have his Chicken & apple sausage is for breakfast with Bourbon maple syrup & buckwheat pancakes. You can tell him I said that ;) Anyhoo, he also makes some amazing seafood stuffed mushrooms. Yum yum yum. I want to drive over right now & get some of those. Last time I stopped by I got a whole giant pack of them, BBQ'em on the grill, then hubby & I fought over them till one bounced off the grill & the cat ran off with it. The irony. They are slightly different than Poche's stuffed mushrooms these have a whole shrimp on top of them. Meow! :)' My only complaint is they don't carry any fresh baked breads by Gambino's Bakery & that is a cardinal sin for a Cajun place. Come on y'all? Don't be cheap coonass's order the Gambino bread & I will update my review. Merci à bientôt.
