I've been around FtSmith a while and I've tried and loved several BBQ places. Last week I was driving on Towson and notice this new BBQ placeI I had to go in. I was blown away at the depth of the menue. I ordered right away, ran home and served the meal to my family. I knew these ribs were the best I had ever eaten. Really! I'm just a customer but I think it is very cool this company is owned by a local independant restaurant entrepreneur. I challange you to find better ribs anywhere in this area. Straight and simple: this is the best overall BBQ joint I've ever been to in my entire life. I am a Dallas native who comes to Fort Smith on occasion. I've tried Dallas BBQ, Fort Worth BBQ, and even Chinese BBQ. Who would have thought that Fort Smith BBQ would be on top. My experience: I came with my girlfriend and ordered catfish with ribs + okra and beans then for dessert an apple pie. I was happy that the okra was pipping hot and delicious. Great! Then I tried the catfish... Woah.. fresh, crispy, juicy catfish. Okay. Didn't expect it to be that good but whatever. Then I dipped it in the tarter sauce - okay. Now they must be kidding me. I usually reserve judgment on a restaurant until after we've made a follow-up visit, in case they were having a good/bad day. But I'll give a review on our experience tonight! Cute place, not terribly crowded. Friendly server. They start you off with two kinds of pickles: one sweet (though they are pickled with jalapenos) and your more sour/salty pickle - both were excellent. I got three meats and two sides: chopped chicken, hot links, smoked sausage, hush puppies, and baked beans. Both of us liked the chicken! They are more of a dry rub place, though sauce is available (vinegar-based). The hot links weren't what I'd call "hot" - more salty, but tasty. The smoked sausage had more of a kick to it, a nice smokiness with a kick at the end. The hush puppies were a little bit of a let-down as I found them to be a bit denser than I would prefer, but they were cooked in fresh grease, so props to them for that. The baked beans tasted homemade and I rather enjoyed them and I'm not normally a fan. My husband got the all-you-can-eat catfish and ribs plate with coleslaw and okra. I tried a bite of the coleslaw and thoroughly enjoyed it - again, it tasted homemade as I could really taste the freshness of the cabbage. Didn't try the okra, but Khoa ate them all, so he must have liked 'em. He had never had ribs before and wasn't a fan (he doesn't like fatty cuts of meat), so I gave him my chicken for his ribs: I enjoyed the ribs. Again, they come with a dry rub that offers some nice seasoning without overpowering your palate. The fried catfish was fresh and delicious; I would definitely come back here for the catfish! Probably a bit unwise to have an entree item called "Trump Tower." Support who you want politically, but as a customer, walking in and seeing that isn't very welcoming. As a business, you may want to consider changing the name. read more

Food was amazing, we tried ribs, smoked chicken, chicken tenders, catfish, hush puppies, fried okra and French fries. I highly recommend the spicy BBQ sauce just made everything even better. Niki our amazing waitress also recommended the chocolate cream and peach pie OMG amazing. The price was extremely reasonable. read more

7-25-20 We went for lunch tables were not clean, one person was cook & waitrer, he was friendly we ordered BQ Pork Sandwich with French Fries Slaw. The food was served fast but the French Fries were COLD not a bit warm.The BQ sandwich was on a cold bum toasted is what should have been served Im sure they dont have heat lamps to keep food warm. The cook/waiter had no interest other than just putting something on the table. The owner should never trust him to cook. We are on a pamndemic BQ sauce was served in large bottles and also the catsup that other people had used and handled.The bottles were not full and looked not clean This is unsafe as there needs to be indivdal portain containers for aLL sauces The BQ sauce was not like before it was lumpy and the idea of comunity bottles was scarey.This place is struggling and the owner needs to L@@K close read more

The ribs are fresh and good, the pulled pork is fresh, very relaxed atmosphere and the waitstaff is very fondly and if is busy the owner will make his rounds and check on everything and make sure you are taken care of. The drinks are served in mason jars. read more

Good, tasty BBQ. They were out of ribs when I arrived but the chicken was good and brisket decent but I wouldn't get it again. Would have liked more sauce in my to go order. Reasonably priced, better than many but the brisket wasn't worthy. read more

So glad this BBQ place is south in Ft Smith, where there are so few restaurants. We were surprised at hoe delicious their food is, and at reasonable prices. Lunchtime today , there was a full house. We got pirk sandwiches and potato salad to go and could not ear more than a half since the pork was plentiful and thin sliced, delicious flavor. Potato salad seems homemade and good unless you avoid mustard. We always order the same thing since it was so good the first visit. We ordered an $8.95 combo of Ribs and chicken with fresh cut French fries and beans. Food was great. Love the smokey aroma from the smoker and the service was exceptional. They even supplied our dog with a bucket of water. Plenty of parking available and we are traveling with our RV. Our waitress was Jamie, you won't find a more conscientious, accommodating and efficient waitress anywhere. read more

Finally tried this place. The service was great, the servers are very nice and fairly quick. The food was okay. Maybe it's just what I ordered, but the smoked chicken sandwich was not amazing. The chicken was chewy and the bread was soggy on the bottom. Also, I can honestly say that I have never had chunky BBQ sauce but it tasted fine so there's that. Also, they bring you your drink in a mason jar, which I kinda liked. I may try this place again later on, but I doubt I'll get the same thing. read more

Very disappointed with our take-out order and I am guessing that if we chose to eat inside, the food would have been fresher. We are new to the area and thought we would give this place a try hoping it would be a new favorite. We ordered the chicken special and a half rack of ribs. The chicken was dry and seemed to have been cooked the day before. The breast portion was actually cut in half, hard and literally could not be eaten. The ribs were mostly burnt with very hard exterior, but tasty. The french fries were limp and like rubber. The bigger disappointment was that this was on a Saturday at dinner time, expecting the food to be as fresh as possible. It was a hard $25 to swallow, but a good lesson to be learned. My guess is taking out the food was simply a lower quality standard. read more

Take my experience for what it's worth: Pig-n-Pepper on Zero in Fort Smith. Went to try them for lunch today. Came in, no one greeted us, but another customer told us to sit where we want. About 10 tables with people at them, at least two waitresses that we could see and several people in back. We sat down, told the waitress we had one more coming but weren't going to wait. They only had water or tea to drink and don't have hush puppies today. Waitress did not come back until my mom arrived (20 minutes later) and my daughter (15 mo old) is screaming "eat" because she is so hungry. (FYI, she is NOT a screamy baby, nor has she ever behaved badly in public- we dine out a lot and everyone always loves her- she was not the problem- she was hungry). Waitress asks if we're ready and we say yes. She walks off to answer the phone without saying a word. Doesn't return for another five minutes. Then asks if we are ready yet. I say "we were ready when you came last time" and she smarted off that my mom said she wasn't ready. Mom never said that. She had asked a question about offerings on the menu. So I say, "She did not. I told you we were going to order while you're here" and she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong, so we got up and left. On the way out I said "I'm posting this on Facebook" so people will know. That is why then the owner (male) and another woman followed us out into the parking lot and initiated an exchange (scary!). They repeatedly told us not to post on facebook. Then I tried to explain what happened, but the male owner kept cutting me off. The woman asked us to come back in and have a meal. The OWNER said "no, you guys just need to go somewhere else" never been treated that way. I will never go there again. Found out later from my facebook post that this owner has opened other restaurants but they never last more than 6 months. Wonder why, lol. Bottom line: waitress with attitude who doesn't just say "I'm sorry for your wait", and owner who refuses to serve people who complain and tells you to eat somewhere else. Also, in America you can post a bad restaurant review on your facebook or anywhere else. #firstamendment read more
