I started seeing Dr Pietrowski a few months ago (April 2019) because none of the other doctors I was seeing (internist, rheumatologist, orthopedic surgeon) could explain my symptoms and provide effective treatment. I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia last Summer but my symptoms only matched fibro about 50%, and the fibro meds provided some relief but not enough. My muscles and joints hurt every day and the brain fog made it hard to be productive and stay on top of ordinary responsibilities (like paying bills on time). Then, in March, my knees started swelling up so much I could hardly walk. An acupuncturist recommended I try Dr Pietrowski and boy am I glad I went! She did a very extensive blood workup, understood all my symptoms, and ran some other tests in her office that revealed inflammation in my brain. Finally, based on the blood test results, she diagnosed me with mold and insect bite toxicity. As a result, I had my home tested and it turns out the mold in my house (which I can't see or smell) is off the charts high. So, I'm going through mold remediation in my home now. Dr Pietrowski, together with my rheumatologist, have prescribed a wide set of meds and supplements that have all but totally eliminated my joint and muscle pain -- though my knees are still swollen and the brain fog comes and goes. I don't think I'll be well for another month or so as I finish getting the mold out of my house, but without Dr Pietrowski, I wouldn't even know about it. No one else even considered it as a cause. To this day, the rheumatologist tells me I have "inflammatory arthritis". Since the word arthritis just means joint inflammation, she's basically telling me my joints are inflamed but still can't offer any explanation for why this happened. Only Dr. Pietrowski offers an explanation and the hope of fixing the underlying problem. Others just treat the symptoms. I believe the rest of the medical community will catch up to Dr Pietrowski in a decade or so but, for now, other doctors just aren't ready to consider something they weren't taught in medical school. So much for "life long learning"! Regarding the negative reviews here, I chalk that up to personality and communication issues. Dr. Pietrowski can be abrupt, which might bother some people, but she's genuinely committed to doing everything she can to help her patients get well. read more
