In 2020, I was trying to stretch out a kink in my back and managed to throw out my back! I could barely breathe and walking was miserable. I called them after a search of yelp reviews and they were able to get me in right away. They "threw the kitchen sink at me" and within a week I was able to move with freedom and carry most objects with a moderate level of discomfort. By the end of the following week, my pain was pretty much gone, and by the week after I was back on track with my workouts and job demands. The office is clean, professional, kind, and incredibly productive! My insurance has a bit of a high deductible, so I eventually had to cut back on the extra treatments being suggested/offered. But the adjustments were always spot on, regardless of which provider I was seeing. Fast-forward two years later and an ongoing neck issue (that I have been ignoring) has begun to cause constant headaches and migraines. I called them and they offered an appointment within an hour of my call! Due to my schedule conflicts, I had an appointment to see them two days later with a wicked migraine. Astonishingly I left much better after a session of dry needling, ultrasound treatment, and possibly the best adjustment i have ever had! By the time I took 800mg of ibuprofen, I felt like new. I know it'll take a few visits to get this resolved, but I have faith they will improve this issue very soon! read more

I specifically told them I did not have insurance at the time and they cut me a great deal if I paid in cash. I did not know it was going to come back years later. My son and I have been customers for about 6 years. Always loved that office and always people were very nice and helpful. I'm not sure what happened. At Spring 2023 I came to the office like always and scheduled a couple visits. My very first visit was on old insurance but the rest on new insurance. After some time, summer 2023 I received bill for my first visit which was not covered. I checked and found out my first visit was applied to the new insurance. I came to the office and showed that. People in the office told me to call to Insurance company and fix it by myself. That was weird. I had many visits to Kalkstein Chiropractic and never called insurance about any questions. They always solved all by themselves. The service was excellent always. I called to insurance company, explained the situation and they told me it's not big deal but ask your doctor office call as because we have some billing questions. I called and provided all the information to Kalkstein Chiropractic office and was sure all would be resolved. Not sure what is going on, but service definitely not like it was before. More than a year after, on December 2024 I received a message I have an old bill. I was so upset, how possible to have the problem so long time and do not resolve it especially in case when it was very easy to fix?! I sent an email with all the pictures of old and new insurance cards and reminded all story again. Two months after some person from the office called me and said, we do inventory now and you have old bill. I told the story again and asked if they received my email. She said they were busy and probably didn't see and this is already too old and blah-blah-blah, so you have to pay your bill which is $159.53. Excellent! They made mistake but I have to pay for that. I paid my bill and now I have a question, if now I can't trust them with my wallet anymore, how can I trust them with my neck?! I would not recommend these people or at least think twice before going there. read more

The staff was extremely professional, how you want to recover is really valued with each type of recovery exercise and it's done to the highest order, and the methods that are used are up to date and focused on your individual needs. The type of care that the practitioner provides really does wants to not just get you back to normal movement but also teach you a little more about how to avoid this type of injury again. They value you as a person and as a patient as well, but primarily want you to be comfortable during your recovery and always check on you during the steps. Don't ask too many questions or advice about your individual problem because that will annoy the senior Kalkstein and interfere with his get-you-in-and-out prescribed, formulaic routine to patient-treating. I've been to several chiropractors and was shocked at how different this office operates in terms of individualized care and attention. I haven't been here in a while only because we moved even further away. I was on YouTube watching videos on how to get relief because I couldn't properly turn my head which was getting to be a pretty dangerous situation to drive in. I decided to make the trip after all of the great feedback I was hearing from YouTube and yelp. I would drive to my job in DC to work for 10-12 hours and drive another 1 1/2 hrs to their location during morning rush hour traffic. After I experienced instant relief and a lot more mobility, I decided to continue making the trip to their office and back home. The staff as well as Dr. Jeff and Dr. Blake were amazing. I've received care here a handful or more times from Dr. Jeff. My concerns are lower back pain, tightness in upper back, neck pains/headaches and knees to say the least. Some of the pain subsides after treatment however, it did return. I would attempt to visit once a week however, I am driving from PG county so that drive can be a tad annoying at times. The price I paid was okay IMO without insurance. The customer service is great from all the staff I interact with; if you are late or want a last minute appointment they accommodate you all the time with no problem. It would be great if they were open on weekends and they close on Fridays at 12pm however it seems as though they may still take some people after that-maybe depending on the circumstances. I was taken by the other doctor calling me a fan during my 1st and only adjustment with him. I was previously having treatments with a different office in PG County but I did not get the "adjustment relief" when I found them on yelp and went to YouTube and watched some videos. I basically mentioned that and I guess that's why he figured I was a fan... Not sure. My adjustment with him was not what I was used to but okay-I did like the fact that he focused on my knees but I don't recall much relief for long after(for my knees). read more

I went to Kalkstein Chiropractic a few months ago for my first visit to the chiropractor. The receptionist and trainers were both very helpful, and aided my comfort during my appointment. I saw Dr. Warren Kalkstein, and I'm sad to say he is the reason I will not be returning. The services he performed like the manual therapy and the electric stimulation worked fairly well, but it was the behavior he displayed and the conversations he had with me that left me feeling very uncomfortable. When I was laying on the bed to prepare for dry needling, he poked all of my tattoos and a mole that is on the small of my back, bringing attention to each one and asking me questions about them, which I thought was very unprofessional and weird. He repeatedly tried to pry into my personal life as a college student, and asked me questions that seemed unprofessional and unrelated to the appointment, as if he was trying to relate to me or something (20 year old college girl). I was nervously sweating during the appointment because that's what happens when I am uncomfortable, and the doctor felt my back, laughed, and asked if I was wet. He also commented on my attire and asked why I would dress like "a hobo" because I was wearing a big sweatshirt. I couldn't even relax fully during the appointment because of how uncomfortable I felt. I wish I had a different experience to share but unfortunately this is why I will not be returning to Kalkstein Chiropractic. read more

I broke my leg 4 months before I was cleared for physical therapy. The office is beautiful and Dr. Jeff had a plan laid out for me that day based on my needs. He has used methods I had never heard of that made a huge impact right away. The atrophy in my leg started going away immediately and my leg began to loosen up that day. I can't believe I didn't review Adolph & Kalkstein Chiropractic prior to this nor that their Yelp page is empty! I sought out a chiropractor specifically due to the increasing pains/discomfort I was facing due to pregnancy. Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect or if this practice would be a great fit for me due to being pregnant and my level of comfort, but I was seriously blown away on my first visit. Dr. Jeff is by far AMAZING! I don't say that to say or indicate that his son is not as good, as I've never worked with him, but Dr. Jeff is a miracle worker! I came into the practice because I was suffering from right hip pain and I needed relief immediately. Not only did Dr. Jeff adjust me properly, but his assistants showed me different exercises/stretches to incorporate daily to increase the effectiveness of the services performed in the office. In all honesty, I felt better not only after leaving but in the day or two that immediately followed. I initially visited three times a week the first week, twice the next week and now I go in for weekly visits. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I started to experience sporadic left hip pain and pain from the upper to middle thigh. I had an appointment scheduled for the following Wednesday but had to cancel because the pain had increased TREMENDOUSLY and practically limited my walking, bending and comfort while sitting. I called to cancel my appointment indicating to the receptionist that I could not make my appointment due to the discomfort. Within a hour or so Dr. Jeff personally called me and asked me to ice my thigh and come in that afternoon when the office re-opened. He told me whenever I got in he would see me immediately and I did not have to make an appointment... Now if that isn't customer service, I don't know what else would qualify. Through my pain I arrived to the office at 2:30, was iced and adjusted (even through the discomfort) only to feel better that evening and 85-90% better the next day just by walking, icing and stretching every 1-2.5 hours. If you are suffering from any pain or discomfort that Chiropractic services can remedy, this is the place for you. I injured my lower back on Sunday, so first thing Monday morning, I made an appointment to be seen as soon as possible. When I walked in Monday afternoon to see Dr. Jeff, even breathing was semi-painful. After that first adjustment, I saw a noticeable improvement. I saw Dr. Blake (first experiences with Dr. Blake) on Tuesday and Wednesday, and saw great improvements after each of those visits. I have seen many chiropractors over the years, and these guys are by far the best I have ever been to. Quite simply, they are excellent at adjustments, relieving pain, and getting their patients back to their healthy selves. Saw Dr. Blake for the first time today I have seen many doctors over the years and I was not expecting to get adjusted the first visit. Dr. Blake did a evaluation on me and made adjustments that day. My back and neck felt so much better! I plan on going back every three weeks which is what he recommended which is not very often. I went to Dr. Jeffery with a painful lower back from trying to favor a bad foot from a resent surgery. After approximately 90 minuets of questioning from staff members on my past surgeries, I finally got to see Dr. Jeffery ( I originally was hopping to see Dr. Adolph, but learned he had passed away sometime ago ). I first got the ice and stimulation treatment and then left and right side adjustments with jerking and knee motions. When the session was over I did feel somewhat better, but my right arm did hurt a bit. Then Dr. Jeffery dropped the bomb. I have received chiropractic help in the past, in every case I received adjustments everyday, but I was told not to come back until Monday (4 days away !). By the time I got home the back was hurting a little worse and my right arm about the same. By the next morning, my back was right where it was the day before and I could not raise my right arm due to the excruciating pain. Between my next appointment, I was able to exercise (with the help of motrim), the lower back problem and several days later it was gone. I went to my Monday appointment and told Dr. Jeffery the back issue was over and why, but my arm issue was not acceptable. Dr. Jeffery immediately started to backpedal. He said he did nothing to my right side ( which he did ) and he said he would look at my arm (mistake). He put me up on the table and kneed my shoulder and pulled my arm. I have to admit that when he finished, I could raise my arm and it did feel better. The next day was a different story, my arm was so bad, it now included the shoulder. I'M NOT SAYING YOU SHOULDN'T USE THIS SERVICE. They be just right for your injury. I'm saying I would not use this service at their convenience if you are in pain and need consent treatment until better. Also, be very careful they do not cause you any addition injury. I now will have to go with treatment from a orthopedic surgeon and possibly loose my employment. You be the judge. read more
