Brilliant food! I prefer vegetarian, and this place has an excellent separate Vegetarian menu. I have eaten here three times and had fantastically tasty meals every time. Can be expensive but we'll worth it. read more
I was walking down the street, wandering Launceston when a tendril of aroma wafted by that I just could not ignore. I turned into Pierre's and quickly found that it was the soup of the day (cauliflower) which I proceeded to enjoy immensely. The staff was extremely well trained and attentive. Service was fantastic and my meal arrived quickly. The only reason I haven't given the establishment a full five stars is because I felt extremely out of place amongst the pearls, gingham, sailor stripes and other... let's say country club... patrons. As an Asian chick with silver hair, the sidelong glances became a bit much and I left as soon as I was done. I'd still recommend a visit so long as you are with a crowd, a tad more conventional, or simply much more proud of your freak flag than I apparently was. read more

I've been going to this place since before I can remember. Mum took me there when I was very young in the early 1960s. The black and white chequered floor has stuck in my mind all my life. It's changed from a coffee bar to an up market restaurant, but still hangs on to the past while looking forward. You won't be disappointed. read more

Excellent bistro! The food was great. 2 of us had late lunch. The ceasar salad with chicken was tasty and not too sweet. Soy and apple marinated skirt steak was full of favour and exceeded our expectations. Staff we're welcoming and the ambience is terrific. read more

We were a group of seven. As we weren't ready for our drinks order, we asked for a few minutes to consider the menu. 20 minutes later, the waitress came back to take our drinks order. The wrong bottle of wine was originally bought out. When our food order was finally taken, it took another hour for the mains to actually arrive (the restaurant was far from full). The house made bread and cultured butter was bland and tasted like damper. The grilled octopus was burnt, dry and over cooked. The briskit was also dry and flavourless. Apparently the restaurant had 'run out' of mushroom ravioli at 7pm, so we were offered a pumpkin ravioli that was soggy, watery, over cooked and misshapen. The 'seared' venison was dry and over done. The side of slow roasted tomatoes was initially forgotten, hastily cobbled together when asked about, and was effectively raw tomatoes with some dry roasted pine nuts (thankfully, they didn't charge us for this). The service was inattentive and all together poor. For a restaurant presenting itself as 'formal dining'', we were all left very disappointed. read more

Beautifully prepared and presented food. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and they are extremely accommodating of food allergies.

Three hours of delightful dining experience from the moment we entered the establishment to the last mouthful of eye fillet steak cooked to perfection this is a quality establishment without the hype just excellent food wine and service. It has been the jewel in the crown in our 2 month journey around Tasmania. The majority of places we visited could learn a lot from this great restaurant. Thanks to the Pierres team. read more
