Great local experience. Learn some phrases to get you through dinner. Choose your meat and watch it being cooked in the wood-fired oven, which is unique and delightful. Have fun and the cook might salute you with his glass of wine. We had an entrecôte rib eye with a wine reduction and a veal (veau) cutlet. Both were delicious, and we left feeling happy to have experienced a little bit of bonhomie in Pont-a-Masson. Only thing to avoid is the recommended local Abbey beer, which is a Belgian knock-off. This is France, have some wine with your dinner! P.S. Father's Army artillery battery camped outside of town during Christmas of 1944. read more
