If you enjoy spicy stuff, you can't miss with the de Tigrou (Tiger steak) preparation. The usual sauce (mustard and cream I think) is drizzled with red pepper sauce and a red chili is added on top. Steak was cooked on the rare side as I asked for med-rare and was seared perfectly and the cut was tender. Fries and bread are both included with the meal (unlimited fries!), and the Loire Valley red wine I had was fantastic. Price was reasonable at around 26 Euro for wine, steak, fries, bread, and an expresso.

They do have an English menu, but the translation isn't exactly correct. Everything started well with some delicious wine and escargot. Then we ordered entrees and what we got was definitely not what we thought we ordered. It was so different, in fact, I almost sent it back thinking it was someone else's order... ha! The food was ok, we both somewhat accidentally ordered cheese on salad or essentially sour cream and potatoes maybe? It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing. I bet they have some great food here, but we just didn't get most of it.

Our server was very kind and patient. The ambience was very calm, with low, but relaxing music perfect for chatting without shouting. The gendered bathrooms were clean and modern. There was also a family / accessible washroom. The food was delicious. The four of us shared a bottle of cider, which was quite nice. My boyfriend and I shared a salty crepe, and they actually split it and served on two plates which was nice. Then we shared la Belle Helen on a single plate and that was amazing! Would highly recommend this spot, and would like to go back and try some more things!

Each dish came with a fresh side salad, rich mushroom gravy, and crispy French fries, and some of us had green beans too. The portions were generous and the flavors were spot on. We finished with apple pie, which was the perfect way to end the meal. Service was friendly, attentive, and relaxed. We sat outside on a warm early fall evening, and it made the whole dinner feel special. It's also just a few blocks from our hotel, so it was easy to walk over. Highly recommend for a relaxed, satisfying meal in Metz. We'd happily come back!
