Jesse is the best of the best…read more If you want your piercing done PROPERLY and PROFESSIONALLY, Jesse is the one for you. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable whether you're there for your very first piercing, or your 20th. Piercings are one of those things that you really get what you pay for. And although you may pay a little more at THRIVE, it's because they're using top of the line jewellery and equipment to make sure you get a safe piercing that heals up beautifully. His shop is clean and bright and he's happy to show you how all of his equipment is sterilized and stored. Jesse is also happy to have you come see him after your piercing is done if you have any questions or concerns about it. I highly recommend THRIVE to anyone and everyone considering a piercing; you will not be disappointed with your piercing, the service or the atmosphere. Jesse has done many piercings for me and every single one has been a positive experience. Honestly, I live in Guelph and I make the drive over to Cambridge to have Jesse do my work because he is, in fact, that good.

I've been looking for a waxing place ever since I moved to Waterloo and decided to check this place…read moreout. Although my wax was ok, the whole experience just made me not want to come back. When I first walked in, the receptionist was there and was talking to someone else and failed to say anything to me. Being new, I didn't know if i was suppose to check in or not or what to do. But after standing there and still being ignored. I finally asked and was told sit down. The waxer came out and just asked if it was me, and just walked off assuming I knew to follow her. Didn't say a word to me the entire time. Didn't ask how I liked my brows or anything. She did an ok job cleaning up my stray hairs and getting the job done. So that's why I'm giving it a 3 instead of a 2. Not trying to be mean toward the business in any way, I just wanted to give an honest account of my experience there to anyone who is looking for waxing.

The idea, as it was explained to me is simple, "Do what you love." The shop is in downtown Kitchener just above a 20/20 Optical which sounds like an odd place but the space is perfect. There isn't a lot of walk in traffic but you can always show up without an appointment and if they're busy they'll book you in right there. Calling ahead is always your best option as these gentlemen can have a waiting list. There are four artists (plus an apprentice) that call this place home and each one has his own style. Just taking a look around the shop is a good indication of how well rounded they are as the walls are covered in sketches and drawings all done by the shop artists. Sometimes they have prints for sale of these pieces. The shop itself is open, well lit and clean as a whistle. Everything is sterilized and packaged properly. Counters and work stations are constantly wiped down, cleaned and cleaned again. There is a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that seems inviting and positive. I think it's just a natural side effect of enjoying your work. There isn't much in the way of parking so you might have to hunt for a spot at a parking lot close by (a block or so away at best, two or three at worst).
