My family has been members here for years and years…read more This marina is rather large being that is accommodates power boats and sail boats, all ranging in sizes. wandering around the docks you will see jet skis and massive yachts. There is an outdoor pool, pavilion, and large jungle gym for kids. The pavilion can be reserved for parties and social events. The facilities are clean as well. The restrooms/showers are accessed by codes, keeping them restricted to club members, as well as clean. There also is a restaurant in the marina. We have not been there as there are several amazing restaurants or the area, or we just use the grills. This is a good marina for families as it is clean, well maintained, has activities to participate in, and amenities for everyone.

We even had a chance to speak with the mechanic, John, who is a Yamaha certified master technician. He listened thoroughly and was very understanding and knowledagable. They fixed the engine up within the quoted time frame and gave a very detailed report which was much appreciated. Definitely recommend this marina, especially if you have a Yamaha outboard. We normally DIY, but will be back to get yearly service done here.

We left Haverstraw marina around 6:00 AM on Saturday 8/6 and arrived to Pilots point about 6.5 hour later. From the moment we got there to the moment we left 2 days later I was nothing but impressed with the dock hands, the dock master and the marina. Beautiful clean bathrooms, BBQ all over the place, nice pool, brand new club house and all around great facility. I want to mention again the dock hands that unlike in other marinas actually know what they are doing! Also they were all very nice and friendly. The marina have deep water so I hat was not an issue as my boat draft 4.2 foot. We got slips right by the fuel dock and there was plenty of space for all 4 boats. The fuel dock is by far the busiest fuel dock I have seen. We will surly be back to Pilots point!

A complementary ferry service is available on demand to take you into downtown Essex where you can visit the iconic Griswold Inn, the Black Seal and a number of other fine restaurants all within easy walking distance. Two marine repair facilities are within 100 feet of their docks. I just finished the Americas Great Loop and have seen a lot of marinas. I really don't know how anyone could want for more than Dauntless Essex Island Marina.

This is the second year in a row they've pulled the bait and switch on us. They over promise and…read moreunder deliver. They totally screwed us with dockage. We were 3 boats suppose to be together on the river side. They threw us in the back of the marina where there's no view and no wind. You literally have to cross over mud piles to get to the pool. They put one boat in front of a launch and promised to move us all to the front of the marina then only moved the one boat only because they needed the launch. Lied. we look at mound of dirt and machinery . It's filled with bugs everywhere and the crew straight up lies to your face. The marina has huge chunks of wood floating everywhere. The restaurant is barely a restaurant and the hours they are actually open are ridiculous. I will never come back again. Ever!!!

We initially had a good experience, but it quickly turned into one of the worst customer service…read moresituations we've ever dealt with. We hired Harry's to store our boat and install new engines so we could sell it. Before the sale, they agreed to continue working on the boat for the new owner to handle some final adjustments. However, after the buyer drove four hours to complete the purchase, Harry Sr. abruptly refused to do any further work, saying they had simply "changed their minds." This left the new owner stranded and forced us to scramble to find another mechanic on short notice. The situation escalated further on launch day. Harry's refused to release the boat because our engine installation bill hadn't been paid yet, even though ownership had already transferred. When I questioned the charges, which were significantly higher than expected, they refused to discuss it and instead yelled at me over the phone. I was told to pay in full or the boat wouldn't be released, leaving us no real choice. I called to make the credit card payment over the phone and even though we had always paid by credit card, they refused to accept it and said we had to bring cash. We would have to transfer money into our checking account from an outside account, which would keep the new owner from taking his boat for 3-5 business days. I finally got him to take my card number, but then the new owner of the boat said they still wouldn't use it. They are refusing to take our cc payment now. I have recordings of our phone calls if needed. The entire experience became unnecessarily stressful and unprofessional, especially for a business dealing directly with customers during major transactions. We ended up having to bring cash to the marina and pay the overcharged bill so the new owner of the boat could launch and take it to New York. We would not recommend anyone do business here. They are rude and will overcharge as they see fit.
