After reading multiple poor reviews on google and even seeing this office is likely scamming people…read moreI'd like to share my experience with Inlet Smiles here to the users of Yelp. The front desk staff is very unprofessional in particular Crystal. I walked in and received a can I help you this morning no warm greeting or hello. I have been a patient of this office for 20 plus years and Crystal pretended to have no clue why I walked into the dentist office this morning at my scheduled appointment time. After spending 15 mins on the phone with Crystal the previous day and being a patient of the office she has worked at for I'm the majority of my life you'd think she'd had more grace and skill when it comes to customer service. Maybe this office should prioritize interactions with patients but they may be out of practice as I never see folks in the waiting room. Also I've never seen a dentist that wasn't Dr Miller (owner) stay at this office for an extended period of employment. The dental hygienist became offended and borderline hostile after asking her to look into my chart to see what we have been doing previously for my care plan. While cleaning my teeth she picked my lip with her tool, I understand that accidents happen but this is why patient handling is important and at the bare minimum an apology for the accident would have been appreciated. Though an aplogy was never spoken. She then informed me we are not doing fluoride today because my insurance does not cover it. There was no offer to receive fluoride which they recommend every visit and can add on to service. I had to request fluoride and then was asked again before I received it. The only nice person in the office is the woman that handled billing at the end of my visit she was professional and kind. I've never had a more unpleasant experience at the dentist and from other reviews of The Smile Center it seems I'm not the only one. God forbid you have something to say that Dr Miller does not agree with for example I was dropped as a patient after writing a review sharing my experience at this office. Luckily I live in the lowcountry where there is no shortage of dentistry options. I recommend Murrells Inlet Dentistry or any other dentist office than Inlet Smiles in Murrells Inlet. Thanks Dr Miller!

Pearl's Dentistry is AMAZING!!! Not only did they get me in on a same-day, short notice…read moreappointment...they were fast, efficient and extremely kind. From the moment I made my appointment with the front desk (I'm so sorry, I don't recall his name...Mike??) From the xrays to the dentist, it was top notch service from beginning to end! Although I'm from out of state, my mom and my brother (whom are locals) will be using this dentist office for all of their dental needs! They were taking great precautions for COVID as well. Thank you to EVERYONE at Pearl's for being so great at your job and outstanding in customer service.

I recently had my first appointment here, which I scheduled as a routine cleaning. However, I was…read moretold they needed to do an initial exam first. I was assured everything would be covered by my insurance and that I wouldn't owe anything at checkout. A few weeks later, I received a bill for what was labeled as a major care procedure--even though all I had done were X-rays. It turns out they used a panoramic X-ray machine that isn't considered preventive care, but this was never explained to me during the visit. When I called to ask for clarification, the staff member simply said, "you should know that," which was very unprofessional. I'm now hesitant to return for a cleaning and will likely be looking for a new dentist in the area. Clear communication and transparency about billing go a long way--unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. -Update 10/08/2025 I went in today for my scheduled cleaning, checked in, and waited about 10 minutes in the lobby before being told that my appointment was canceled--solely because I had left a negative review the day before. This kind of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. Rather than addressing patient concerns, they chose to retaliate against honest feedback. Between the surprise billing from my first visit and now being refused service for sharing my experience, I can't recommend this office to anyone. Don't go here unless you want to waste your time and money. Transparency and professionalism clearly aren't priorities here.

    Murrells Inlet Dentistry

I'm just loving these updates! I think the Murrells Inlet Dentistry is not a regular Dentists…read moreoffice but rather it is full of MAGIC! A Magic computer, A Magic wand for X-Rays. MAGIC glasses for bright lights and of course the Magic chair. People go there sometimes with an issue and when they go to walk out the problem is gone. MAGIC! I say. My issue happened the other day. With this healthy choices diet I'm on ... I switched from cookies to apples. One big bite of my apple and I noticed most of my eye tooth stayed in the apple. The tooth next to it broke in half. Just sharp edges and a gap. I did notice pain by my sinuses to the left of my nose and my cheek bone. When I blew my nose my tooth hurt then. I Was in desperate need of a Great Magician! So I called "my" Dr Andrea's office. She is the best. I was able to get in the next day. I arrived to smiles and warm welcomes. I always feel like I am walking into my friend's home. I feel loved. The staff is always fabulous. I was not sitting long in the lobby when I was called to go to the Magic Chair. I've been there so often the chair has molded itself to my body. After the Magic wand was used for X-rays and my Head slightly back with my legs gentle raised I was ready for the Magician to show herself. In walks Dr Andrea. I'm smiling already. I explain my issue and she tells me a doughnut would never break my tooth. We both laughed. After review of the pictures of my teeth( yes I did smile) it was decided that tooth needed to be pulled. Also the one next to it. Since my tooth pain was by my nose and sinuses I suggested we take a short cut and pull the tooth out through my nose. Dr Andrea said she could do that but needed more equipment and time. We chose the regular route for the extraction. I have different names for the Doctor depending on my need that day. Dr. Clean-em. Dr. Numb-em Dr. Drill-em. Dr. Fill-em Dr. Cap-em And Dr. Pull-em. Today Is DrPull-em. Oh yes they have Magic Medicine there too that numbs half your face. I would love to take that medicine for my knee pain too but it wears off too soon. When my mouth and face felt numb, I closed my eyes and opened my mouth. Dr Andrea hums a tune that lulls you into a calm state while instruments, fingers , a suction wand and a light all fit in my mouth. MAGIC! I think Dr Andrea's humming was a Magic spell that put me to sleep because In no time at all she said all done! I was in disbelief. My tongue touched upon the space of the missing teeth. Yep they were indeed gone. She ordered some antibiotics for me since the tooth was infected and I was ready to go home. I really do know it is not Magic.. but rather ... I have a wonderful Dentist with fabulous staff members. You can come check out Murrells Inlet Dentistry yourself. Tell them Willie sent you.

I had to wait 2 weeks for appointment (told them I had a tooth cracked) which I understand the wait…read morebut then when I arrived 15 mins late because I entered their business in google & it led me a wrong place, they all had an attitude when I walked in & told me they gave my appointment to someone else... they seemed to not even want to see me at that point & barely looked at me while I stood there wondering what to do & the woman said we will see what we can do like my appointment was in question... I could feel their annoyance which was a bit over the top... you can still politely tell someone I'm sorry but you were late.. but they treated me like I just did something bad on purpose ... The girl Sarah (at the end of my 5 minute appointment) went to set up another appointment with me & asked how I was as she looked away to type & I just politely said I was okay just a little upset that I took the whole day off & whoever booked me on the phone said they would block extra time for me knowing it was more of a serious issue that my tooth cracked .. Then she told me she was the one who booked it & got defensive. ( I was actually willing to let it go but I just wanted to express a little disappointment) she proceeded try & shame me for being late & I said I didn't do it on purpose you must know this is an issue with the address & she kept saying well I shouldn't have been late if I wanted to be treated today & that she only blocked off an hour (which I would have also appreciated her telling me that on the phone when I asked how long should I block off for the appointment & she said she wasn't sure how long it would take so I just took the whole day off work smh) then she said I should have called to let them know I was running late if I wanted to get helped today.. but I told her I was driving on the highway and didn't want to get in an accident......l had to pull over off the highway stressed trying to find their other address & the next one was right not the one that first came up on google.. I told her I didn't like how she was speaking to me & was trying to stay calm but she started overtalking me in a condescending tone & we were both getting louder... she was saying they have been there for 30 years & it's not their problem but google's problem ect... I said excuse me I need to finish my sentence because she wouldn't let me finish... she was being very rude & I told her she was being rude as she had a smirk on her face... So, I had to pay $128 out of pocket just for a 5 minute session today where they took like 2 xrays of just the one tooth & that's all we did & I lost money calling out of work today too.. wasted my time making me wait 2 weeks for nothing, I could have gone to a better dentist office that would have helped me sooner.. the girl who took my X-rays today was very nice & caring making sure she was gentle while taking X-rays but the office is not friendly... I have to say in the past I really loved Dr. Ballangee she's great but I am going to a new dentist office as of tmrw I already got an appointment when I told them my situation... wow people who actually care unlike how I was treated here... this is the second time I was treated so rudely by staff here.. last time a dental hygiene routine was terrible the girl was angry & kept hurting me with sharp instruments forcefully, & splashing water up my nose & all over my face carelessly looking away then noticed she was squirting up my nose & said oh sorry, apathetically... it made me not even want to come back but I gave it a second chance here today because my tooth cracked & then because the confusing address thing they hated me as soon as I walked in ... there is truly no need to be so rude, condescending, & accusatory to people... I spoke to my family about what happened & they called our dental hygienist friend who referred me to another office so I am not returning here..some staff are very rude but some are very nice too but I don't have time to play Russian roulette with my money and time not knowing how they will be.
