I had to visit Pictures Plus to purchase a frame for a photo. In this pandemic, I wasn't sure if they were working on an appointment basis or was actually open. I called and spoke with the employee there and she explained they were open for walk-ins. Limit of 5 people inside the store at a time and when I got there, there was 1 customer being helped. Even while busy, I was acknowledged and soon assisted. I didn't get her name but the lady who helped me was extremely helpful with everything! I was amazed at how easily she made my purchase there! Thank you very much! You are a true asset to this locally owned business! Definitely would recommend going here if you need frames or shadow boxes or art prints, etc.! Free parking at the Maui Marketplace and the prices are competitive to those you find elsewhere in town. They also have Koa wood frames in case you want them. Don't know what happened but they were not able to fulfill my order. I was told that the order would be ready in a week. Three weeks out, I cancelled the order. Staff never called me to update me on the progress of my order. I had to stop by the store to get any updates. Hope the business discusses their communication protocols. read more

We bought a rental property and discovered that the artwork on the walls were all anchored down and needed to be removed using a key-like tool. We were told to check out Pictures Plus. They were so helpful in selling us the key. Robert showed us how to remove the artwork and attach similar anchors to anything we might buy in the future. When we needed new artwork for a living room wall and needed to get it immediately, we headed to Pictures Plus. I couldn't make a decision as to a collage of pictures, and they let me lay artwork on the floor in groups in order to see my options better. Both Robert and Clarice were so patient and helpful!! We wanted to frame 2 feather lei that we wore in our wedding. We did a phone consultation with the staff to give them an idea of what we wanted, then brought the items in. The end result was gorgeous. The two orange lei were both laid out in a perfect circle side by side over a black velvet background, with a customized label and dark wooden frame. My husband and I went to Pictures Plus to get some prints framed. Turns out, the prints were a standard size so we were able to purchase ready made frames rather than do custom framing. Many thanks to Atu for suggesting we look at the ready made options - they look beautiful and were very affordable. I love this store. They are super helpful and informed. I had no idea there were so many cool options for art framing. The lady who helped me really showed me how to save money. It was so refreshing, because most businesses try to make you spend money. The reason for four stars, they wouldn't let my daughter play with the mirrors against the wall with her ice cream fingers. Great service and quality products. We've been using this store for six years and have had nothing but great experiences. Staff changes, but they're always friendly and know their products. Custom work can take a few weeks since much of that is done on Oahu, but its still nice to have a good quality alternative on Maui. read more

I am baffled by the poor customer service I recently received at Pictures Plus on Maui. I recently tried to place an order over the phone for some mattes for framed photos. A little background, I recently broke some bones so making it into the store while injured was impossible, hence the attempted phone orders. It took me about two weeks to get someone on the phone after leaving several messages. At one point I reached someone by phone but the lady whose answered told me she did not know how to take phone orders and I should call back the next day when the manager was in. How hard is it to take a phone order? Just write it down and give it to whoever is in charge of that? I finally got ahold of the manager, and placed the order. I was told I'd be called back with an estimate, I never was. After about ten days I called back and spoke to the manager, for a status of the order. Not only was it apparent that the order was forgotten, but the manager (I know his name but will be semi polite and leave it out) told me he was with a customer and that he would call me back, he never did. I ended up placing my order with Bux1 photo mattes online. I am a professional photographer who sells work at various places on Maui, I have used Pictures Plus in the past and customer service was much better, but this was too annoying not to say anything, I was just ignored and overlooked, sad for them because I give a lot of business to other places on the island that do much better like Maui digital images and Ben Franklin for frames. I am also less than impressed with their prints on aluminum. The colors of my first print came out way too dark, and changed the whole feel of the image. In addition to this they mount the aluminum images on ply wood, instead of foam or metal. This has a few drawbacks, one, the wood could warp in only a few years (it doesn't appear to be treated) especially in the humidity of Hawaii. Also, if you sell your work like I do, this wood backing is way to heavy to carry around. Bay photo does a much better job, as does Maui digital imaging, and Maui canvas prints. These companies are a touch pricier but the product is much better. read more

Corky was AMAZING. I had a unique and somewhat nutty situation:I needed a picture framed (as an anniversary surprise) but was in a rush to go to work so I left it with him and he texted me pictures of framing options so that when I was off work I could just pop in and chose an option while the unsuspecting spouse waited in the car. I don't know of many other venders who would go above and beyond customer service like that. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. I am a return customer and will be coming back again!
