I've been going to Eileen since December 2024. Online reviews looked good, and her shop was near my house, which made it convenient for me. I encountered an odd issue with her during my first visit. She had informed me my pants were ready for pickup, and I specified the day/time I would be coming in. When I went to her shop for pickup, I called, and she informed me she had gone to deliver an order for someone else because she didn't think I would appear on time. I was completely baffled as to why she reached this conclusion and why she admitted it verbally. Between September and October 2025, I had requested that she perform alterations on some pants. On this occasion I was charged the day I left the articles with her and was assured they'd be ready on the date she had specified. Prior to picking them up, I called Eileen and informed her I was on my way. When she answered, she told me my pants were not ready and that she hadn't even started working on them. I was quite upset over this since more than a week had passed since I'd left the pants with her. About a month later, I brought in a blazer she had worked on previously and asked her to reattach the buttons, as some of them had come loose. Although she did not charge me for this, she assured me the blazer would be ready on time. She failed to have the blazer ready on time when I went to her shop. I went to go run some errands for about an hour, and when I came back, she had finished working on my blazer. This indicated that she did not need more than a week to work on my blazer and had procrastinated or otherwise failed to make good use of her time. What frustrated me, however, was the condition in which she returned my blazer. It was covered in lint/hair/debris and had a strange odor to it. I had dry-cleaned it prior to leaving it with Eileen, and her utter lack of regard for keeping it clean really upset me. Most recently, during December 2025, I requested an appointment two days in advance. I wanted her to hem some pants I needed for work. She had agreed to meet me at 11 am on a Wednesday. On the day of the appointment, I called her to let her know I had arrived. When she answered, she told me she had mistakenly marked my appointment for a different time/day and had left to attend to another client.

My son said he tried the shoes on and told someone helping him that they were too big. He said they told him that it's supposed to be big because the shoes are narrow. My son left it at that brought them home and that's when I noticed that they were 2 sizes too big for him. We paid $220 for the rental and no one checked to ensure the fit was correct and then they brushed him off when he said something. The next day I called and someone said they'd get back to me and nothing. I kept calling during business hours with no response. On Saturday morning, the day of the event I went to the shop at 11am because that's when the website said it opens. The hours on the door says you open at 10am on Saturday. The store was still closed and there were 4 other people waiting outside. One of the people waiting was someone from the same quince my son was in saying that you guys left out the cuff links from their suit. We both waited til 1130am and still no one showed up. I left back to where my son was with the rest of the quince court and after speaking to the parents, your staff also had left out the cuff links to a few other kids suits and didn't have some of the suits ready on the date you said and they had to return a different day. You are lucky that more parents from our party did not leave a bad review. We paid a lot of money to get this kind of service. Hopefully next time instead of coming on here with your response, you might have wanted to rectify the situation and returned your customers calls before it went public with a review.

The following months, however, were filled with uncertainty and confusion about when my dress would arrive. With an estimated delivery timeline of 4-6 months, I initially tried not to worry. In December, I was informed that my gown was in the final stages of production, and I paid the remaining balance. As March approached, my family and friends began to grow concerned alongside me. While the responses to my calls and emails were reassuring, it became increasingly difficult not to feel anxious as the wedding date drew closer and our energy and attention needed to be focused on other aspects of wedding planning. We were told that the delays originated with the designer. This is understandably not in their control, but more proactive communication and transparency about the situation earlier in the process would have been appreciated. Ultimately, the dress shipped at the end of April and arrived in early May. Despite this experience, I am still giving Janene's Bridal Alameda 4 stars because of the kind and responsive staff. The alterations team did an excellent job with only about 2 weeks to work with, and every staff member was pleasant. I especially appreciated Jessica, Tiffany, and Mary Ann for being so accommodating, patient, and supportive throughout the process. At one point, I left an item there and the team were very communicative about searching for and locating the item until my return. Most importantly, the business went above and beyond to compensate me for the inconvenience and stress of receiving my dress so close to my wedding date. After everything that happened, I was hesitant to have my alterations done at Janene's, but the team ultimately turned the experience around and made it a positive one. After she knew that was our first time looking at the wedding gowns, she gave us a 5 minutes introduction of the gowns and the basis set up of the bridal shop . Then we looked around and pulled 6 dresses to try . Christian helped to fix each gown and made suggestions like how to tailor it to make it look nicer on the bride -to- be . After one hour of try and error , we narrowed down to two wedding gowns that we love . Christina wrote done all the details , gave us a small card for the information. Then she mentioned the trunk show coming up at the end of January 2026 . But we are obligated to buy a wedding gown if we attend the trunk show . Today is January 3, 2026 Saturday. We would have a bad experience about Jaime Bridal from the way the other lady talked to my family member with the bitchy attitudes. Thanks to Christian , these have all changed . Customer service is the primary focus on retailer business . I am not sure how this could have been misinterpreted.
