Terrible experiences time after time. Today was our third time at this particular Picture People and it was somehow, by far, the worst yet. We will not being going back. Everytime you go it is the same thing. We wait almost 2 hours past our appointment time to be seen. Then you have to deal with the rip off session for 45 minutes after as they try and confuse you into an upsell over and over. They are purposefully unhelpful and obtuse in a way to hopefully get you to just give up and buy whatever they offer you. You are basically being held hostage for 3-4 hours. The difference this time to last was that at least before we got some really nice pictures out of our sessions (nice enough to go back and deal with the nonsense, maybe) but this time was so awful. We were treated like an inconvenience. After waiting nearly two hours with a 8 month old and 4 children ages 4-9 (all actually behaved surprisingly well all things considered), The 8 month old needed a quick change (go figure). We were told a few minutes into changing her that we "had two minutes or she is calling it" after only 6 pictures. After we waited 110 minutes for them to get it together we were being threatened... That and the few other times we came they got a ton of pictures for us and they switched up the backgrounds and asked our opinions on different ones. This time they took 15 pictures in front of an awful background that we didn't pick and then they shoved us off and moved on without even giving us a chance to protest. We had planned on buying their RIDICULOUSLY priced disk with all the pictures from the session for $99 but with 15 pictures (none of them good), what would be the point? (past sessions had over 50 pictures) In an age where everyone can take great pictures on their own it is a luxury to get people who want to pay for the professional touch of a studio. This is not the place. These are not real photographers. Most of pictures weren't even framed properly (off centered, not at the correct eye line). Just plain and simple a nightmare of a day and a waste of time and money. read more

Do you want a photographer to rush you through three backgrounds, produce two images out of 25 that look acceptable, then give you dozens of the worst quality prints you've ever seen? Do you love making an appointment so that you can wait an hour to be assisted? Then this is the place for you. Try the jc penny's down the hall, they're still cookie cutter and corporate but their product is less pathetic. read more

Absolutely horrible, I called 5 times to make sure my puppy was able to come because I made An appointment a week ahead of time for later in the day we get there early and waited an hour and a half for them to put people before us, then when I told Then never mind we're leaving because my puppy and my fiancé were outside in the cold waiting (because the puppy wasn't allowed inside) they said alright bye, no apology, nothing. Disgusting. I'll never go back and I'll be telling all my friends and family to go else where. read more

I went on a Sunday and got there the exact time of my apt (maybe even a minute or two later) to take pics of my 5 months old. When I got tehre I realized the outfit I had brought was stained... They waited while I ran around the mall looking for a new outfit. Unfortunately, by the time I got there with the new outfit, baby was not happy and screamed throughout the session. They didn't charge me and I came back the next Sunday. This time went a lot better! I found the staff was very accommodating, service was good, and they were nice. I'm giving 4/5 stars because the pictures weren't that amazing. I was sitting next to my baby during the session so I couldn't see her. When I went to see the pictures, he hair was all crazy. I wish they had said something to me! Maybe they thought I liked it like that? lol read more

Horrible experience all three times I have been there!! I gave them more then one try! Waited a half hour past appointment time to have pictures taken. Then had to wait 1 hour to review and purchase pictures! The photographers are young and do not have much experience! Rushed to get to next family! I will not be returning read more

Not sure why all the awful reviews? Our wait was minimal (5-10 mins) and the girl doing our photos was friendly enough. I had my one year old and 2 year old who wasn't cooperating and anther employee (manager I think) came over to entertain the 2 year old and really helped get her to smile and sit still (somewhat). Without that extra help none of the pics would of come out decent! The studio is very large as compared to other branches I've been to. Only reason for the 3 stars is that after we were done I noticed all these other prop set ups around the studio (like a little sail boat seat up and a beach chair sceneary one) I would of loved to put the kids In but they didnt mention or suggest it. They only used the few props that were in the little space we were using when really the studio has lots of other really good ones. Would go back again just next time know to open my mouth and ask what back drops are available and not just settle for the 1 or2 they offer to you. read more

This is simply the worst photography business. The photographers generally have the photography skill of a supermarket cashier, but over the years we have had one or two talented photographers. For the lack of skill, they use heavy filtering on the images. We had four children with multiple poses. The appointment ran on time and 40 minutes later we were done with the session. When we went to review the images, most of them had been deleted; some poses completely lost. An untrained employee was unable to assist us in selecting the remaining photos and was unfamiliar with the software. When we asked about the deleted photos, the manager said we only will view between 12-15 photos regardless of the number of poses. That's it; Buyer Beware -that is all you will receive on the CD as well for $99.00. It took four hours, four employees and three managers to leave with printed pictures that I would rate as below poor. Most of our images were lost and the staff including the managers were poorly trained. The number for customer service has been disconnected and quite frankly they are a business that delivers a substandard product at exorbitant prices. The hook of a no sitting free or a free 8 x 10 - isn't worth the stress and aggravation - because you will pay more than you could imagine. I would recommend finding a local photographer or honestly, your nephew with a cell-phone camera. You will be more satisfied with the results! read more

The experience was wonderful! I've seen negative reviews online and I'm surprised at how untrue they are. The picture people were friendly, calm and patient with my wife, I and my 2 year old son. We had made an appointment for Sunday afternoon which is a pretty busy time. The staff was busy, but still extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Laura our photographer worked hard to get my son to smile, playing with him and making him comfortable. I was highly impressed with her dedication and with how relaxed she made us. After the shoot we went through the pictures one by one with Natasha to pick the ones we liked. She was as patient as a saint. I couldn't make up my mind about which pictures to choose and even when I had finally chosen my wife wasn't sure. Natasha was calm and friendly throughout the whole back and forth patiently showing us what the pictures would look like again and again. The pictures look fantastic and it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We are absolutely planning on coming back again! read more

I had the worst experience for multiple reasons and do not plan on returning. I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled time. When I originally made the appointment it was for my child and my nieces however I wanted 2 different sessions and some with them together. I called weeks prior and was told to just make one reservation for 1-6 people so I made the appointment for 4:40. When I arrived I explained I had a groupon and my sister had a Groupon for her session I had purchased for her with her 2 girls but that we wanted to have a few shots with them together. I was already given an attitude stating only one per booking (however the groupon says 1 per visit-I was visiting and so was my sister). I said ok and did not want to cause a scene. My sister was in traffic so I explained we could start with my daughter then when the arrived we could do them and then the together pictures. Immediately the women (manager maybe? No name tag) stated we had to wait until the entire party was present which I then explained my daughter was having individual pictures anyway. She said "that's why I am here to make sure we stay on time!" The sessions was great, the photographer was super nice and great with the kids. After the session was over we waited almost an hour to view our pictures. Anyone with half a brain could figure out if you have 3 kids (1,2,5) that is way too long to wait! Once we viewed our pictures and made our order we were told to come back in about 15 min. We walked around and visited Santa and returned almost a half an hour later. We asked for our order and after 5 minutes was told there was an issue and it would be an additional 30 minutes. Clearly at this point we could not wait so I had to go out of my way to pick them up today. The service is terrible, understaffed and plain nasty and rude. I feel like it was a bait and switch with the groupon and very misleading. It is a shame with such great people taking the photos that we did not have a much better experience. I expect something for my time and either my groupon be refunded or honored. read more

I didn't have to wait too long either time I went, but did feel rushed through the pics and they aren't many backgrounds to pick from. If you know other families with kids they are likely to have the same background or props unless you bring your own. you do get same day pics---IF the printer is working. I recently tried JC Penny across the mall and had a way better experience AND it was CHEAPER! read more

Had an appointment for 6:30. Arrived at 6:15, as the website requested when setting up a session. Inquired as to the wait time, as we had our 10 month old and 4 year old for portraits, and was told no more than 10-15 minutes. Was called to take pictures after 7:00. Waited over an hour to be seen by an employee to review our pictures. Inquired as to the wait time several times, and was told that we were next and someone would be with us right away at each inquiry. After reviewing pictures and placing pictures (which took no more than 10 minutes), we waited over 30 minutes to pay for and receive our order. When all was said and done, we were in the studio for 2 hrs and 15 minutes, which seems a little excessive for no more than 25 minutes worth of pictures. After arriving home, found out that the high-res CD we ordered was blank. I had been to the same studio in Ocean County Mall last year and had the exact same problem (with only slightly less waiting time)! When I called to try to rectify the situation, the phone rang for a minute and a half before someone answered and told me that the manager was busy and would have to call me back. As of my writing this, it has been more than two hours and I have yet to receive a response. I'm extremely disappointed in the level of service that was provided for over $150 in portraits. Absolutely horrible service and rude as well. My boyfriend and his brothers went to go get pictures for a xmas present, they waited there for about half hour after their appt time because the people in the back were too busy eating and said, " oh we thought you were still waiting for another person." Ok fine we all make mistakes but come on you have a room full of people waiting, get them done and get them out. Secondly, after finally getting them to get started on the pictures the girl had no say in how to stand or what todo, another girl came up and told four grown men to stand side by side like prom pictures as a visual ( very odd sight). So I suggested why don't they face forward the lady looked at me disgustedly and said, " we are the professionals let us do our job." Yet in the beginning no one was actually doing their job. And I get it we all have bad days, but I was so nice and understanding the whole time we really just wanted to get this over with but they were like pulling teeth. They just were not pleasant to work with nor did they seem like they liked their jobs either. read more
