This was my fourth time in Granville, and I finally got to go to Picorette. Each time I've tried, and either it's been closed or we couldn't get a reservation. My boyfriend called way in advance and got us a coveted lunchtime spot one Friday in January.
We started off with a tea sample, which was great because it was freezing cold outside. The special of the day was scallops with veggies and a side salad, and they had a few other options. I've been off fish lately, but when I saw other people's plates I decided to forgo my usual diet and try the scallops, and I was really happy I did. Big, buttery scallops, perfectly cooked, with the most delicious veggies on the side. This was one of the best dishes I've eaten anywhere in France. We had a carafe of decent enough white wine to accompany our food, and finished off with a chocolate fondant, which was good but was seriously outshone by the main dish.
If you can come to Picorette make sure you do. Book in advance, and be prepared for Paris prices. It is quite expensive for Granville, but good for the quality and portions. Service is also super friendly, and very patient with non-native speakers. read more
