I had the worst vet experience of my life today. I've been taking my dog Hank here for over a year. I took him in for a routine check up and updated shot. The vet noticed he had allergies and prescribed a variety of meds. My total was around 500 dollars. Pretty standard considering my dog's breed. I went to pay and realized I had accidentally forgotten my wallet. I told the receptionist I would just run home and get it really quick and come back or I could call and pay over the phone. She said she would have to let her manager know. I told her that was no problem at all. She and another employee insisted I use Apple Pay but I've never used it before and they tried to walk me through it but of course you need a credit card to set it up and I didn't have one. When they released that wasn't going to work the receptionist told me that I would have to pay by the end of the day or it would go to collections. Again I told her that was not a problem as I was just going to go home and get my wallet and pay right away. She kept having to go to the back and talk to her manager, who never came out and I never even spoke to, and was gone for long periods of time. At this point I started to text my husband and family members to see if someone could give me a credit card number over the phone because I felt like they were treating me as if I was a scam artist. She then came back and said I couldn't have the meds my dog needed until I returned with a card to pay, I was annoyed but totally understood and said that was fine. She then told me I needed to sign a letter that I intended to pay and give her a copy of my drivers license. Again I told her I didn't have my wallet which contained my drivers license but I signed the form anyways. Then she just left and I was by myself at the front desk, wondering if they were ever going to give me my dog back so I could go home and get my wallet. I started to get really afraid that they had called the police on me and were holding my dog hostage until someone arrived. Finally by husband called me back and give me one of our card numbers over the phone but at this point I'm so shaken I cried all the way home. You could be the best vet in the world and I would not come back here. I've never been treated so poorly in my life.

i can't imagine having a worse experience at a vet. i had to euthanize my dog recently & not only were they horribly unorganized, but they don't seem like they know what they're doing at all. everytime i'd try to call, id be put on hold for a MINIMUM of 25 minutes. they told me after he passed that it would take 2-3 weeks to get his ashes back, but i still hadn't heard from them for 3 1/2 weeks so i decided to call. they put me on hold for more than 30 minutes & i literally drove there faster (i live in rsm) than they picked up the phone. when i showed up, there was no one in the waiting area which upset me even more cause, why was i still on hold???? i asked about my dogs ashes & said no one has contacted me & they are so difficult to get ahold of & the woman at the desk went in the back to grab someone else. when they both came back out, they opened the bottom drawer of their front desk & mixed in with multiple others, they pulled my dogs ashes out of the bin. they have no sympathy. not only do they hide him with other dogs who have passed in a drawer, but they failed to communicate to me that they had him at all. whether your dog is alive or going to be passing, i wouldn't trust this place with an ant's life. they are unempathetic, unprofessional, & all over just shouldn't be in business. do better.

Pico Veterinary Clinic SAVED OUR PUPPY'S LIFE! After learning today that the "breeder" I had bought our puppy golden retriever from back in December 2018 was just arrested for selling sick puppies (most of whom reportedly passed away from illness within weeks of taking them home), I feel incredibly grateful for Pico Veterinary Clinic. They are 100% to thank for saving our puppy. Thanks to Dr Amir and Dr Arsalan's expertise, thoughtful care plan, and compassion our puppy was one of the fortunate ones who lived. The doctors determined early on that our pup had kennel cough. Over the course of a few scary weeks; Through multiple rounds of antibiotics, injections, and constant care, our puppy beat the horrible disease. He is a full-grown, 100% healthy dog to date. So thankful for this vet! You guys saved our little guy when it seems very apparent now that the cards were against him. Thank you Pico Vet!

We have been bringing our dogs here for years and always have a good experience. They take very good ongoing care as well as emergency issues when they come up.

They do a really good job in terms of bringing your furry friends back to good health but it's def not cheap by any means. But prefer this vet over my ordinary vet for physical ailments/injury.... but I have to back up and change my rating from 4 stars to 5... I originally put 4 stars cuz their services are quite pricey, but in my opinion, you can't put a price on the well being of any family member, pets included... their services may come at a higher price but like everything in life, you get what you pay for so if you ask me, it's worth every penny

I am so grateful that we have SAH so nearby. I had gotten a puppy two years ago and we had many…read more"food indiscretion" and digestive issues in the first year. Sendero has always been so great at getting us in during all of those moments. They have been so informative and really helped me make the best decisions on food and treats and chews and all the stuff that comes along with a dog. I hadn't had a dog in quite awhile and it really helps to have some solid advice and perspective from the different doctors and techs we've seen over the course of the last two years. Each person is always so helpful from the moment we walk in and I'm truly appreciative of their care for my pup.

My dog had significant inflammation in multiple areas of his paw, including between the toes. However, the veterinarian did not examine the underside of his foot or the interdigital webbing, which is where a large portion of the problem was visible. Instead, I was immediately encouraged to proceed with a needle aspirate and cell analysis quoted at approximately $600-$700. I was uncomfortable moving forward with that without first addressing the obvious inflammation and possible infection. I was also quoted additional fees (around $65) to clean a single wound on one toe, while the rest of the paw condition was not discussed or treated. I asked for oral antibiotics and was told no he did not need them, I was prescribed one ointment called Anamax $35, even after I expressly asked for oral antibiotics she said no he did not need them, (the first thing the other hospital i.e. the second vet said, "we need to get him on oral antibiotics for six weeks as well as steroids", we started that protocol and within one day, I've seen huge improvements.) more in this,. After leaving Sendero, My dog was in so much pain, I sought care elsewhere. The second veterinarian examined the entire paw, including between the toes, and treated him with appropriate medications as mentioned above ( oral antibiotics and oral anti-inflammatory medications ). He has already shown noticeable improvement. I paid about $110 for this visit at Sendero and did not feel that my dog received a thorough evaluation or appropriate initial care. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending this clinic.
