I was in there at this location for only the 2nd time ever. I greeted the two ladies running self checkout upon entering (which was the only thing open by the way). I didn't get a response. After I walk away, I hear them laughing. While leaving, I'm in the self checkout line. One of the girls said " You can go to any one of them." I didn't know because they all had red lights on them. I told one of the ladies that. Once again, no response. There's also unprofessionalism on the floor from another lady playing music from her phone. It's like people do what they want at work. I don't like feeling unwelcome as a customer. I feel like I wasted my money and time going in there even though I got everything I needed. I probably won't go back in there. read more

This isn't my usual grocery shopping spot. But, it's in the area and one Sunday I decided to give Pick 'n Save a try (they didn't have Pick 'n Save in my previous city, so this was my first experience with the chain). I'd read enough of the previous reviews to know to avoid the hot food bar, to check expiration dates, and to be choosy with produce. Do these things, and you'll have an a-ok experience shopping here. Their prices are some of the best in town. Meijer might be as good, but I will say their interior, products, and store arrangement are a skosh nicer than the Meijer I visited. They have a discount card thing (frequent shopper card? whatever they're called!). We signed up (quick and easy), which typically affords us $5-10 off our grocery bill. A couple things of note: +They have one of the better cold pressed juice selections I've seen in any grocery here! They carry my favorite brand, Juiced!, in several flavors (one of which I haven't seen at any other grocery store in the area). +They have one of the best frozen pizza selections I've ever seen. They have one full freezer aisle (all the way down one side) of frozen pizzas. I don't get frozen pizza frequently, but if you do? Definitely the spot for it. You may have to shop a bit more carefully and they may not carry quite the variety of products as some of the higher end grocers, but the prices make it worth the effort. A-ok! read more

It's okay, typical Pick 'N Save, it's understaffed so you're best off planning on hitting the self check out. I've been surprised at the specific grocery items I was unable to find, for example in October one can find Halloween and Green Bay Packers decorated cupcakes but no birthday cupcakes. When I want a specific kind of fish, I won't find it here. But for what most people consider grocery staples, the selection here is adequate, prices okay, it's pretty clean and there's an ample parking lot. read more

Gotta watch this location. The dairy department is loose and wild. I am their unofficial Chobani yogurt expiration date monitor. Generally find at least a dozen expired on any given trip. If the dairy is on sale, most likely won't come up with sale price at checkout (consistent & unique @ this location). I cannot comment beyond dairy as I generally do not wander outside this department at PNS. Definitely "buyer beware." read more

I'VE FIGURED OUT THE SECRET TO SHOPPING HERE. I think. Actually, that's a lie. Pick-n-Save's business practices will never be known, BUT **THREE STARS** because I went there and bought food (produce, even!) that I didn't think would kill me. THREE whole stars because I didn't feel like I would die after eating food from here! I believe the secret to going to PNS, at least this one, is to go on a Saturday in the middle of the day. They are packed and there are people stocking non-rotting produce. You still must very carefully check the "Best by..." dates (all but ONE of the Organic Girl salad boxes had a date of the next day), but I bought some foineee looking cherub tomatoes and some tasty green grapes for our lunches. In fact, I was so surprised that I even checked out the rest of the produce section - something I never do. DOUBLE IN FACT, I had to ask the cashier for a basket or a cart because I picked up items I didn't plan for. (they very inconveniently do not have baskets/carts in the entryway on the produce side) TRIPLE IN FACT, the cashier was really friendly and hurried and emptied a basket at her check stand so that she could give me a basket AND she held it while I put my items in there. Okay, Pick-n-Save, you're no longer a rotting hole of disaster. You're only MOSTLY a rotting hole of disaster. P.S. Double coupons up to $1.00 on Wednesdays and Saturday. If you have the patience to combine the manufacturer coupons with the store coupons that come in the PNS ad booklets in your mailbox, you can pick up some pretty sweet deals. read more

Even though this is not my favorite grocery store it is a tried and true standby for me. It's in a nice location on Miller Parkway that gets a little over crowded on Brewers gamedays. There is a nice selection at this store including some extras that you can't find in every Pick 'n Save. Another big plus is the liquor section is a part of the store and not separate. I'm a typical lazy American and I don't like having to unload my groceries and then go back to get my booze. Just don't bag the wine bottles with the Twinkies. I don't want flat Twinkies. read more

I have used this grocery store since they opened a few years ago, and so far the staff has been generally friendly and helpful when asked. The aisles are clean, and everything seems well organized and well stocked. While buying groceries isn't at the top of my list of things to-do on a Saturday - the good news is they have a good number of registers open to handle the traffic. The lines are typically short, and wait times for self check out are generally quick as well. I still prefer human interaction, and will use the actual cashiers. Though interactions are not what they once were - using debit is so impersonal. Can't we all just use cash again? I will say this though, my last check out was excellent! I had only a couple items that I was going to just carry, but after the cashier expertly bagged them - I now know a new way to bag a few heavier items! read more

This is usually a pretty okay place to get your groceries. Nicely balanced selection, and the things I want are almost always in stock.The produce section is sometimes a little lacking, and they seem to have recently stopped carrying the fake cheese I like (us lactose-intolerant Wisconsinites have it hard)... but overall it's an easy store to shop at. I do like to go to Cermak just up the road, though, for a much bigger, fresher produce selection, and much cheaper meat. They also have a better selection of the weirder items - strange spices, ethnic foods, things like that. If you're looking for a place to get some Stallis staples (frozen dinners, canned goods, basic meats, an okay liquor selection) Pick N Save is just fine for that. The clientele can be a little depressing, though. Pro tip: If Nathan is working (young, blonde guy with a lip ring) GO TO HIS LINE. He's one of the best cashiers here, and always gets through customers the fastest, even when dealing with weird coupons or whatever. He knows what's up, and deserves a raise, whatever he's making. read more

I gotta be honest - I'm very tempted to hand out my first 1-star rating on this Pick N Save. This place clearly doesn't care about it's clientele. They have the worst produce department I've ever seen in my life. None of their fruits or vegetables ever look fresh. I was so dissatisfied with it's presentation and freshness I made a special stop in to show my father. My father lives out of state but has worked as a produce manager for over 40 years. He couldn't believe how bad the department was. He knows more technical terms as to what the problem is but he rated it very poorly. The spacing, appearance, etc... The lighting is horrible in this store. It's oddly lit for a place to buy groceries. I've never really seen the employees being very helpful to customers. I really hate to give places bad reps but there isn't much I can do here. The reason I won't give it a 1-star rating is it always had the items I needed in stock. That's a plus at least. I'm sure the area it's located has something to do with the poor conditions, not that it's a bad neighborhood but it's not an affluent area by any means either. I hope some changes are made one day for those people sake. I don't live near this area any longer so I'm alright. Only stop here if you need is my recommendation, but I guess it's possible you could see it different... doubt it. read more

My sister and I ordered groceries online yesterday to be delivered because we've been sick. Normally we shop in person. Delivery fulfillment was at Pick 'n Save on Miller Parkway through InstaCart. There were multiple problems with order: received rancid potatoes, salad container was cracked and leaking, received wrong items and received items we never ordered, but were charged for. Called the Pick 'n Save store, talked with manager who told me it wasn' t their problem to fix since order was picked and delivered by InstaCart. Called Insta Cart and was told it wasn't their problem to fix since order was placed online on Pick'nSave's website and not Insta's website. Tried texting Insta shopper who actually picked order and she never responded. This "pass the buck" customer service is ridiculous!! Pick 'n Save is getting the money and they were the ones who left rancid potatoes and broken salad containers on their shelves in the first place! There is a massive problem in Pick 'n Save's third party fulfillment system with InstaCart if no one is accountable for errors! Definitely, DO NOT order InstaCart fulfillment on Pick 'n Save orders. We have shopped at Pick 'n Save for many, many years and are so very hurt and disappointed that a store we have faithfully patronized for nearly four decades would treat their customers like this!! read more

I go here because I need groceries. I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here but it is much better than the Pick'n Save on Layton Ave. It is true, the produce seems to always be in a perpetual state of needing to be restocked but I think this Pick'n Save sees a lot of traffic and my guess is that it's hard to keep up. The people who work here have always been very friendly and helpful if I need help finding something. The check-out clerks are also very kind. Sometimes I coupon shop and they have always been very patient and accommodating when I have lots of coupons or want to do multiple transactions. read more

Worst pick and save ever! Went to the deli this morning, five people working behind the counter including the manager! Not one person acknowledges me or asked me if I need anything. The manager walks out to fill the hot deli area with water acting as if she's dying, and when I said something to her she shrugged her shoulders and turned away! Then I went to customer service to ask for a manager which took forever for her to come out and acknowledge me as well... And then she walked away said she'd get the manager and by that time I walked out. I then proceeded to call and ask for a manager and she asked me if I could call back later, if I didn't mind... I said yes I do mind I have an issue with your store... And no one ever came on to the phone. Customer service here is beyond atrocious! There are carts everywhere in the parking lot, garbage everywhere in the parking lot, This store is an embarrassment to our community... Starting to look a lot like Walmart! read more

stay away; went in there because I was ill and just needed a few things, otherwise I would never have chosen this store. In the beer and liquor department they offer single beers in bottles, but you can't buy a single bottle; you must mix it into a six pack. Their meat is disgusting and their produce just as bad. Most high end stores offer home-made salads like potato or macaroni but Pick just opens a frozen bag and dumps it in their bins to warm to room temp. Ever since the Ulrich family sold these stores, they have gone down hill and now that they are owned by Kroger; they've hit the bottom of that hill. read more

The entire Pick N Save chain needs to open their eyes when it comes to produce. I agree with Greg and Nate. This is a problem in their Waukesha stores as well. I have stopped buying produce at their chain and will soon not be shopping at their stores at all. Went to Woodman's yesterday and saved 30%. I always get great service at this location, and they have a great selection. I stopped in today with my cranky 3 year old. He proceeded to have a complete meltdown in the middle of the store and there was nothing I could do to console him. The director of the store-Eric- offered a bag of gummy bears to my screaming son. It meant a lot that he took the time to notice my predicament and it was very kind that he did what he could to make sure I could finish my shopping. Thanks again! read more

How anyone could possibly rate this store above three stars amazes me... and cries out "fake review from a friend of management". This place is filthy, the meat counter smells of rotting fish, the self checkout lanes are dirty not to mention always manned by one or two ancient senior citizens. Now, the produce here is a joke. Rotten veggies abound in a maze like layout as you enter the store. Stay clear, Target up the street has better (albeit limited) produce. Awful awful awful. The only reason I didn't one-star the place is they usually have the dry goods I need in a pinch and they are the closest place. read more

Okay... So I have worked at a Pick N Save before in the past... and I know it's not exactly the ideal place to shop... however I was seriously appalled when I went to go to this Pick N Save. I first arrived at the yogurt section and all the yogurt I was looking for had been expired for TWO days already... I proceeded to tell one of the workers there about the situation and he handled it. Then I went to get some bread, only to find that this too would expire the next day and it was severely low in stock... like they hadn't restocked it in a week. Worst yet, I attempted to go to produce and found several cartons of strawberries noticeably molding. I'm not sure if they just don't care or if they are understaffed. But please save your time and don't come here. It's disgusting and unsanitary. And honestly, I think this deserves less than 1 star. read more
