I wanted straight line bifocals. She gave me single vision glasses I could not see out of. While the employee was cleaning my (new lens) she broke the arm of the frame. She said the new glasses were "shop worn" as it is protocol for Howards Optical to use the frames that had been on the shelves for public use. I returned the glasses as I could not see. She said she knew what she did wrong and would correct it. I wanted bifocals, she said she would do a better job. My corrected 2nd pair was supposedly for computer distance did not to work for computer or distance. The belligerent owner injected himself to bully the customer and eventually put the discarded lens from the 1st pair into more shop-worn lens and now I have two pairs of glasses I cannot see out of. He expects me to switch glasses back and forth from close up to distance continually and he claimed he could not follow the script and he could not make straight line bifocals. The bully owner claimed his lab was in Wichita and he could not make straight line bifocals, but he did try a bait and switch to a graduated lens for another $700.00. Of course, according to him, those glasses were not usable away from your desk. I have gone to two of Howard's Optical competitors and had both the glasses and script examined. They both concluded the glasses do not match the script. Howards Optical does not know what they are doing. They did not follow the script. Who doesn't love Kent and Roxy?…read more When I used to wear glasses (from age 7 to 22), I always got my frames from them, when they were located in Clifton Square, and after they moved to the Rock Road location. They never failed to make me feel like a valued customer. My family all go to them for anything glasses-related. I'll never forget the very first time I put on a pair of glasses, just after starting first grade, and seeing clearly for the first time in months. Memories like that leave an impression, and I'm glad Kent and Roxy were part of that! They have a special touch with eye wear, and if my experience was any indication, they go out of their way to make the process as easy and fun as possible. Their selection of designer frames is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and I highly recommend them for all your eye wear needs.

I have had other brands of progressive lenses before and thought they were OK; but compared to these new lenses from Howard's optical, there is no comparison. I highly recommend Howard's Optical on South Oliver, in Wichita, KS.

Today I accidentally tore my contact lens. My new ones wouldn't be in until Monday so I called the…read moreclinic to see if they could help me out. I work through the weekend and my job/safety depends on my eyesight. I called the office and spoke to the receptionist. I informed her of my dilemma and asked if it would be possible to get a trail pair just to hold me until Monday. She said she would talk to the doctor and see if they could do anything for me. It took them two hours to call me back. The woman that called was different and was very uncaring and unsympathetic. She said that they don't usually give out trial pairs without coming into the office for a contact fitting, which is $38. I told her I had just had a contact fitting within the last couple of months and if that would suffice. She said I would still have to come in for a fitting. Really?? Does an eye change that much in a few months? If so, why are contact prescriptions good for a year??? This is the third and final bad customer service experience I will ever have with this office. I would have asked to speak to Dr. Fisher but the last time I had a problem and asked to speak to Dr. Baker I was told by staff that they do not allow patients to speak directly to the doctor. They wouldn't even allow me to leave a voicemail for her. What kind of practice doesn't allow you to speak to your doctor?? I could understand the refusal if I called in every two weeks and asked for another trial pair. I don't and this, to me, was situation with exigent circumstances. Is customer service such a meaningless practice for the staff here? Are the doctors aware or just oblivious to how their staff treats patients? Again, this was my third bad experience with this staff concerning customer service. My family of four will be finding another practice, one where staff has a little compassion for their patients. And, I will not be recommending this practice to anyone anymore.

I went to the new location and while scheduling a woman was bragging about how amazing the lady is. Im terrible with names but that was a good start. Anyways few weeks later i see the doc Baldwin. I felt only good vibes with her, friendly, understanding, non judging, i mean just a beautiful human overall. Energy is great. O trust her and when i cant make up my mind i usually tell her to do what she thinks is best for my eyes, that i trust her. She cares. I could go on and on only for the fact she is amazing and that its taking 35 years to find a doctor i trust and plan to stay with. I also am obsessed with my Kate spades glasses and work safety glasses. My only request is that they add more diamond glasses and more nerd type glasses like Steve Urkel glasses because im obsessed. Anyways hope this helps you make ur decision!

Don't ever pay in cash at Eye Care Associates of Wichita…read more Back in Feb, I took my son to the same eye doctor he has seen since he was 5. I made the stupid mistake of paying $90+ in cash, BACK IN FEBRUARY, for glasses. Now this morning, I realize we've never heard about his glasses. I have called today and found out that they took my $92.XX but have no record of the payment I made. Do I have the receipt? No, because it's been over 60 days and I stupidly thought this was all paid for and we were waiting on their call for his glasses. To say I'm furious is light weight. I am a single mom who has to budget every dollar I have and now they're wanting me to pay another $92 that I already paid. I'm sure there are cameras with footage of me paying the receptionist my $92.XX but was told they don't have that. As of now, "they're looking into it and will get back to me". When I asked what that meant, she gave me no clue or idea on what looking into entailed. Super disappointed. I'll be in to get the prescription in the morning, request they pull their camera footage of me paying at the front desk, or count their cash that day because if they have no receipt or record for it, they should have been over $93 dollars in cash that day. I do know today the optical lady called me back 5 minutes after I called and said Dr Eubanks said there was no cash transactions that day. Same guy who we've dealt with for over 10 years, now calling me a liar because I doubt you got that info in 5 minutes from two months ago for Trisha to call me back with when you couldn't call for two months to say I owed you $92.XX till I called this morning looking for his glasses.
