It's been a while since I've gone to a salvage yard to pick parts off of an old automobile. My last 3 vehicles have been new, so really no need to do so. However, I recently bought a 2002 Jeep and for whatever reason, the thing did not have roof rack cross bars. So I logged onto LKQ's website, searched for my model, and boooyaa; it popped right up. 3 of them, pictures and all. I could see right from the pic that they had what I needed, and no call was necessary. 30 minutes and a $3 admission fee later, I was in the most well-organized auto junk yard I'd ever seen in my life. I used to hit Bearly Used and Copher's back in the day, and it was always a struggle to find what I needed. Not here though, I went right to the Chrysler section, and easily found what I needed. Pulled off the cross bars, paid $14 and I was gone with the wind! The staff was jovial, and it's only 30 minutes away, so I feel I will become very intimate with LKQ. read more

Not pleased at all. First time ever in a Junkyard so I was a bit lost. Saw people in the middle all at desk no one greets or Gave direction. I saw arrows on the ground so decided let me follow the arrows maybe I have to form a line on the other side while wanting to keep distance from people that where also in the area. ( COVID-19 being the reason) A man that i did not even get his name just looks at me swings his arm up and says there's a sign in sheet doesn't not explain where just signaled mind you I'm more then half way into the main area( please explain how Throwing your arm up and a quick point will help direct me ?) I go to say "oh okay where" and before I even finish he says " and he can't go in" which was in regards to my child. I which then told him" well where am I going to leave my child I refuse to leave him with strangers." He says " okay well come back when you have someone to watch him." Which then of course I said that is " absolutely fucking ridiculous" It is obvious that they clearly have never encountered a situation as to where someone does NOT have someone to watch there child. Nor have encountered a situation where a parent has gone through trama and has reason to why they will not leave their child. My child is home schooled and is with me 100% of the time. I am a single mother and I couldn't even simply get accommodated to look for a part for my vehicle that I need. Not to mention that I haven't been working due to Covid so money is tight and I had to Uber to this place just to be denied entry. I will absolutely never return and will announce to any single parents in a difficult situation that LKQ in largo is absolutely not a place for single parents to give their business. read more

Absolute waste with crappy customer service. They can't even tell you if they have a part and want you pay just to walk into the junk yard without knowing anything wasting time and money. I'd be happy to pay for the entrance and part if you have it. read more

As far as junk yards go, LKQ is one of my favorite's to go to. You can look up the exact vehicle on their website and see a couple photos to help you decide if they may have the part you need still available or not. They have several locations and I have been to most of them. Bring your own tools, and pay $3 to get in. They have the vehicles fairly well organized and you will know what row and spot to go find the car you want to pick a part to get the part your want. Some people use their wheel barrels, other bring big boxes of tools. I think this is where a lot of shady car dealers get parts to fix their cars cheap. I was able to get a couple trim pieces for one of my cars, that was about $75 online and it cost me $6 coming here to get it myself. The place stays busy and parking can be packed. There are no hand wash stations or restrooms. Be in grease monkey mode when you come here and plan to get dirty and watch where you step out in the yard. read more

These people are crooks, plain and simple. I repair cars as a hobby, so I've been to a lot of junk yards. James was the cashier who rang me up. I was never told the total before he swiped my credit card, and I was astonished when it was around $160. Turns out, James called several relays "engine control modules." James even admitted these were not "engine control modules", but claimed it was the closest item that matched the description. I explained to him that other junk yards, including LKQ in West Palm Beach, always ring these up as relays. (I even had a receipt to prove this that James refused to look at.) The way James rang them up made them 4X more expensive than they should have been. I requested an immediate refund. James complied, although he made it a point to act completely annoyed (despite the fact no one else was in line). When I looked at my "refund" receipt, it appeared to be a charge for $80 instead of a refund. I inquired as to this, and who I assume was the manager came up to me and told me they were closed (it was only 4:50 PM) and firmly demanded that I leave. I tried to explain my situation to him and he sarcastically could have cared less. (This is the same manager who demanded I leave the car I was working on at 4:35 because the yard was closed. It was Sunday and the yard does not close until 5:00 PM.) On the way home (to the east coast of Florida), I confirmed with my credit card company that this $80 "refund" WAS IN FACT A CHARGE. I have a request to corporate for the district manager to call me Monday morning to hopefully work this out. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had with a business. All I expected was to be charged and treated fairly. The way I was shuffled out of the business after receiving my "refund" makes me question how accidental this charge really was. Not only did I not receive my $80 refund, but I was charged an additional $80. So, as of now, I'm out $160 total, and I did not even receive the parts I went there to buy. read more
