We both had the lunch special which was only priced £13. For that very low price we had large and fancy starters like my smoked salmon and shrimp on fresh Spring greens. The portion was large and fresh. My lunch was a pork medallion prepared with Marsala and cheese. It was done perfectly. The lunch included several choices of desert. Basically, my last couple of nights out have ended at Aikmans. I also really like this place because they have a pretty broad selection of beers and ales as well as harder sprits for the more veteran drinkers out there. Its a pretty solid pub and pretty typical, I like that it is unpretentious and that the bar men are nice even to the student crowd such as myself. Having decided on my last visit we wanted Italian, we ended up here. Great, central location in the City Square it has plenty of outside seating for sunny days. Inside is modern and fresh with private dining available (when I say private, it's just a glass partition so I use the word "private" loosely here!). The menu follows suit and has a modern Italian feel and while we browsed we were brought complimentary bread and olive oil/balsamic...3 pieces of bread...between 2 of us...grrrr this really frustrates me!
