Molly's, quite frankly, was a huge let down! We ordered an Earl Grey tea, 2 mineral waters, small Caesar salad, small bowl of chips and a Jacket potato filled with chicken mayonnaise, mango chutney and spring onion.
1.Earl Grey arrived with a dirty spoon.
2.Small bowl of chips contained 11 chips, all for a rip off price of £2.
3.Caesar salad was by far the worst I have ever had. No sign of Parmesan, chicken had obviously been at room temp for a considerable length of time....certainly not an acceptable, safe temperature. There was no bread accompaniment and the bacon was not smoked, as is traditional.
4.The jacket potato was previously microwaved and then reheated. It was served warmed, but again not at a safe temperature.
5. The filling of chicken mayonnaise was sub standard, pre-prepared and of appaling quality.
6. The view into the kitchen is always reassuring in any eaterie, but imagine our shock when witnessing the chef serving up chips with his bare hands at the hatch! If this is what happens in full view of the customer, imagine what personal and food hygiene practices occur out of sight!
7.The last straw for my friend and I, both experienced caterers, was to witness the cleaning of tables. This was done with the standard practice of application of anti bacarial spray, but wiped off with what can only be described as the most filthy cloth.
8.The above points and the below avarage service, will make our experience at Molly's one to remember .......... read more
