Yum! Really simple, homey kind of place with a fairly wide selection of Italian dishes, deli type sandwiches, and jacket potatoes. I was a little disappointed when I realized they didn't have any chicken escalope, but I managed just fine with a tasty bacon butty (with CRISPY bacon, I might add -- I'm growing more accustomed to the British way of doing bacon, but this very deliciously reminded me of how we cook it back home). It was a warm sandwich, but not pressed in a panini maker, and was very, very good. Throw in some crisps and a drink, and my meal was still under four quid. Not too shabby.
My friend and I hung out and ate our food in the downstairs dine-in area, which was pretty relaxed but for the TV showing what seemed to be exclusively commercials. The service was nice and friendly, especially considering how long I take to make up my mind over the simplest of lunch decisions. I'll go back if I'm in the area. read more
