This…read moreolder guy started typing my info into the computer using one finger enter one letter at a time. I was shocked at how slow he was. I asked about two crucial life events that had changed in my life and the older man didn't know the answer and tax implications. One question (catastrophic loss) he said was no longer on tax forms. WOW! With my help he found the part of the form that dealt with this issue. But he still had no idea how to enter my info. I final asked, "what can you do for me that I can't do myself?" He asked if I wanted to leave, but told me it would cost me $100 for all time it took him to enter my info with his one finger and search all around the form for other info. After correcting at least three more errors I left. I couldn't sleep, woke early, went and picked up my taxes and did my taxes myself. After noticing I was missing one of the documents which I gave them, I called and asked for it back. They couldn't find and finally discovered someone shredded it. They said they would send me a new one but I never heard from them again. They charged me $100 to sit and watch the older gentleman enter my info and make multiple errors. In my mind It was a gross misconduct to charge someone that much money for such horrendous service. Stay away folks, I could do your taxes at half the price with greater confidence then what they provided me.

The guy that did my taxes was named Omar. His compassion, along with expert advise made me feel like I made a new friend who cared about more then just my tax return. I will be back next year. To preface this review: Wolverine Tax did a great job of organizing our tax returns and handling…read morethe complications of a multi-state and newly married household. Our phone call to finalize the return was friendly, efficient, and professional. My issue with Wolverine Tax is their misleading price structure. My wife and I were told that our $650 deposit would cover 2 hours of consultation and we would only pay more if our return took more time. Before putting down the money, we told them our tax situation and were assured that our return ("like most") would stay within the 2 hour time. We sent in the requested forms and scheduled a call to go over our returns. Wolverine didn't properly enter the first call, but after scheduling a second call they were ready. The call was around 20 minutes, and the total time of consultation wasn't mentioned at all. We ended the call happy with our completed return and expected that our $650 was well spent. This was in late March. In early June, we receive an invoice for $893.75. We had received no information about how this time was spent, or a notice when we had exceeded our deposit. When we contacted them to dispute the charge, they were slow to respond. When we got a hold of them over the phone, they said 'You must have gone 4-5 hours over the time.' Eventually, they dropped the outstanding balance to $250 and we paid it to end the situation. If you are willing to pay $1500 for your tax return, I can absolutely recommend Wolverine Tax. They did quality work, but do not expect to pay $650 even if they assure you of that price from the start.

Poor communication. I had an interview with Mrs. Meredith to discuss my taxes in the beginning of…read moreMarch. She stated she would call me back to see if she could find a way for me to receive a larger refund. When the taxes due date was coming up, I called multiple times to see if she found anything or if she would just submit my taxes as they are. She NEVER called me back. I ended up going into the office a few days before the due date and she said that they were completed. A few weeks later, my parents, who had an interview the same day as me, got their taxes back. I waited almost two months later and I ended up calling asking when I will get them back and receive my refund. I don't understand why my parents' taxes were finished and given back to them when theirs were more complex and we had an interview the same day. Each time I called she kept telling me they have been submitted and they will be done soon. The last call I made( two months after going into the office to ask if they were done) she said she might be able to find a way to receive a larger refund. Now if this was months before than I would have loved to hear that. I told her I am not waiting any longer and if they are complete I want to pick them up now. I did not trust her to keep them any longer. It ended up costing $250! I Was going to ask for a discount since I waited so long and she failed to communicate with me properly, but instead I just wanted to get my taxes and leave. I ended up finding out that the taxes of customers who received refunds are not due on the due dates taxes are scheduled to be submitted! So instead of making that clear to me, I ended up worrying for months if they were finished on time. There were some personal issues she was dealing with, but that does not mean she should lack communication with her customers. Just because we pay someone to do our taxes, does not mean that we should then be kept in the dark about are taxes.
