Wow, this place was amazing. I've been here a few times before but its been years. When I came in with my friend on a spontaneous outing, both Emma and Kenna (Sorry if I got the names wrong!) were the nicest and most accommodating with helping us find our pieces and paints. We ended up having a really nice conversation with them both for much of out time there, and they were right there to help give advice and provide the right tools for our designs. Great rainy day place to hang out with your kids. It has a main area with 8 or so tables... also there is a birthday party area. You select your piece, the price is broken down into the price for the piece and price for studio time. Everything is listed so there is no suprise when checking out. The staff is so helpful, never grouchy or unapproachable, when you are a first time vistor they go over everything very detailed. We had a fantastic experience having a birthday party here for my daughter turning 7. Katie was our hostess and she was a delight. She helped us set up early, let my daughter pick out table decor and was extremely organized. Our guests had a blast and the party ran really smoothly. There is plenty of room in the party area and they didn't rush us out at all. There was seating for parents and a pizza place next door which made it even more convenient! This is a great and even affordable choice for a party so definitely check them out- you can book online too!! Edited to add... I've never met the owner of this place so the lady suggesting that we are giving good reviews as "friends" is nuts. I had a horrible experience with this place. The other reviews are friends of the lady who runs the place or the teens who work there. Very unorganized, they lost my credit card number twice, and also lost one piece in our package after everything was paid for. Country bumpkins who have no idea how to run a business. I bought a deal off of Groupon to give Pic-N-Paint a try. I took my mother and we had a blast! We picked the pieces we wanted to paint (a large koi fish candle holder and a star shaped bowl) and got right to work. Although there wasn't a TON of pieces to choose from, the selection was very decent and each piece was made with superior craftsmanship from a true artist (whoever they are, you do an excellent job!) It wasn't just bowls and cups like a typical pottery place, they had things like candle holders, night light holders, holiday pieces, etc. It was great! There are also plenty of different colors of paint to choose from, and several different brushes, stencils, and books with ideas in them. The girl working there was also very helpful and friendly, and even stayed 15 minutes past closing so I could finish painting my piece. I will DEFINITELY go back again! The only negatives I can think of is that the music playing over the radio in the background can get kind of annoying and distract you, and the loud, screaming kids that come in there are reeeeeeally aggravating, but this kind of place is more geared towards children so I guess that's something you have to deal with... Overall, definitely give it a try, it's a great place when you need some down time to do something simple, fun, and creative. read more

I took my girlfriend to Pic' N Paint in Pasadena, Maryland for a surprise date. I had never done another artsy like this establishment was advertising, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I was blown away by how clean, concise and well put together their operation was. The was helpful and friendly! They well the large crowd with poise and kindness despite the diverse range of ages and the size of the party/ groups that was their clientele during my visit. We both loved it. They are a myriad of different pottery options to choose from, along with lots of paint and brush options. The prices were fair. The establishment and setup was comfortable and appropriate. The staff gave instructions on what to do very briefly and then let you at it! I would totally recommend to anyone looking to get creative and spend time with a partner, friend(s), and/or family.
