Well, they 'lost' my paperwork. And said I owed more money. I sent an email to the owner. Here is what I said: "Perhaps, I am confusing the word "refused". I was indeed refused cancellation of my request. I went into the office during, I believe the 1st week of July (definitely before July 4th) and showed the receptionist my acceptance letter to work in California. She showed this to the manager and the manager said that I needed more than that (even though it said I would be moving across country since there was a moving stipend involved). I then requested to freeze my account until I could get the paperwork and that was most certainly refused and THAT is what frustrated me the most that I didn't have any wiggle room to work with since I was also trying to get my things together, get my place together and since all the companies I did work with either let me cancel quickly OR freeze my account until I got everything together. Now, I got my paperwork together and faxed it over July 25th. I got a line error, so I called the office asking for a call back to get my fax inline (and at no time I was offered to email, which would have made things simpler). I got no call back and was able to successfully fax on July 29th. I got a confirmation from the office saying the fax has been received and that I will get a response in 2 weeks. 2.5 weeks later, I had to follow up to see the status. No status from corporate (I was told it was needed to be reviewed by corporate). Then, on August 15th I got another request to resend paperwork because it had gotten 'lost'. I resent it, this time via email and received a request for more money because of the payment plan. Look, I don't mind having to pay what is owed for services. What I do mind is that there was no sympathy, empathy or attempt to make this an easy cancellation...which gives me the impression that all the company cared about was money. If that initial meeting where I was trying to cancel had some sort of EFFORT to help me (Let me talk to corporate, let me talk to Dr. Susan, let me check if we can do anything) I would have been pleased. EVEN if I was told that my chart needed to be reviewed or my contract needed to be reviewed on top of getting address paperwork, that would've been fine too. [I was just told "it needs to be approved by corporate. Sorry." no explanation, no nothing like the owner left on my comment] I still received a bill for October. However, I need to review my contract to make sure that what is owed is owed appropriately before I pay the funds. Then I will pay whatever needs to be paid for services rendered (although, I still think I should be reimbursed for July since I never got to use the option to use services in July since I was driving to California by July 5th but I don't expect this company to care about that fact). I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife. She's been going to Physicians' Weight Loss for several months, and has had great results over all. Their services are expensive, and their contract REALLY requires reading the fine print. But they do deliver, and their plans do work. They explain the basics and give you the information you need to know, a proper meal plan and guidance to help eat right and kill the cravings. I'm looking to signing up myself once the money comes available. The downside: the plans encourage you to make use their packaged meals, snacks and especially their shakes. They're formulated for high protein and to help slay cravings. And honestly? Of the samples I've had form my wife, they're actually pretty tasty (though can be expensive). They push the products, but you're not required to get them. They do make a nice addition, and my wife always tries new when she goes. One of their main goals is to get your eating right, eating healthy. It's not a fad plan, but one based on encouraging you to make smart choices. That said, it is an expensive program but it does work. If you're fine with the prices and the costs, and the bars and protein shakes can fit within your budget, it's a good program. Originally I was very happy with this program. I lost quite a bit of weight. But over time it just felt more and more like they were just pushing their products on me instead of caring about my emotional state with the program. I lost 30lbs on this diet. So again IT WORKS. You just have to have a lot of money and be able to stomach shakes and protien bars all the time. At one point I was hurting on funds and asked what I could do if I couldn't afford the shakes for a couple weeks. There was no option for me. They said shakes were required and no way around it. I told her I couldn't do it and she gave me a lecture about putting less money into my PETS so I could buy shakes. Then when I went out of town and ran out of shakes they then told me I could use cheese/apple between meals... My friend would also accompany me with my check ins. We hang out a lot and are a good support system for each other (both overweight ) but that obviously made them uncomfortable and I was even confronted about bringing him with me even though I was originally told it would be fine. We both felt I was being treated different when he got there so he stopped going in with me. I kept on it though and was switched to a lower cal plan when I was staying in a hotel for a couple weeks and didn't have access to making food. It was bar for breakfast, shake for snack, bar for lunch, shake another snack, then a normal dinner. I did pretty good on it but quickly got burned out on the bars. To the point I wanted to throw up when I ate one. I tried talking to them about my issues with it and she wanted me to stay on it till I got under 200 instead of switching me...well I got burned out bad and fell off the wagon. I struggled months after trying to get back on and we ended up moving and sadly I gained A LOT OF weight back (my own fault) and I am trying to work it off on my own now (even though we are still paying, just don't feel comfortable there right now) As much as I loved it at first and wanted to hit my goal I never did and I just feel in the end it was about their product rather than making sure I was feeling good. read more

I don't consider them worth the drive and location is really important in attending a weight loss facility. They lack the ability to lead/motivate. You are rarely able to call and get an actual person. You can tell the employees are just there to collect a paycheck and not to help people. Why pay money to just go get B12 shots and overpriced bars. I can do that on my own! Sure the program works, but if you want motivation and just like handing out your money, go there. read more

My wife attended this place. It is extremely overpriced. They made her sign up for a contract and here she is having lost only 10 pounds and two years later and we are still paying $155 a month. What a scam. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else. And to really infuriate me, they charged a $30 late fee as our credit card number was stolen and she never updated her card, so the card we had on file with them didn't work. Bought a groupon for the $59 4-week weight loss and injections. Opted not to get the full plan, but paid $24 more to upgrade to lipotropic injections (because the ones with the plan do nothing). The first two visits were great and everyone seemed nice and helpful. I have been calling since 5/20 to reschedule my 5/21 appointment and I can't reach anyone because no one answers the damn phone! To think I was going to spend several hundred dollars for the lipogenics treatments. Not anymore!!! Now I just want the remaining injections I paid for or a refund! read more

I love this place! From the day I first walked in the door until the 7 months later when I reached my weight loss goal of 40 lbs, everyone has been so supportive, cheering me on every step of the way! The plan WORKS! You just have to follow it :) They are there to guide you and nothing is without work. It is work, it Is a lifestyle change, but one that is oh so worth it! My husband and I joined the program in May of 2014, and we both lost 30lbs in about 4 months. We both look and feel great! The plan was easy to do (although strict and you MUST mentally be ready for it), the supplements and food were tasty, and the overall counseling and encouragement was great. Katie has the best personality for the counseling because she's sympathetic, empathetic and really really understand the struggle. Plus, she doesn't try to push products on you, she's honest and open about them and let's you make your own decisions. I will say this: It is EXPENSIVE. But we were able to use FSA/HSA funds, so that was great. Plus, nothing else has ever worked for us, and this really got us motivated. We are both still on the maintenance plan which is actually harder than the diet. We have been successful at keeping the weight off for a few months, mostly because we learned quite a lot about healthy eating, portion control and how to get the most out of our food. If we do start to slide, we understand exactly what we need to do to get back on track. All in all, this has been a life changing program for us. Aside from the cost of the plan, the bars and shakes, we spent a fortune on new wardrobes for both of us, because our pants kept falling down :). I paid almost $300 for 4 laser-lipo treatments, It was a waste of money!!! I followed all the instructions during the treatment (drinking plenty of water, exercising, low carb diet) and I only lost 1 inch. Too expensive for the result. Staff were very nice and helpful. read more

I really love the team of women at the Ashburn Physicians Weightloss clinic! I had originally purchased a groupon and decided it was time to really feel better about myself and lose some weight. Sherry, Cece and Katie were all so welcoming and encouraging. I dropped 20 lbs in the 1st 2 months! I went through a job change & with all the stress and schedule changes, I stopped going regularly. Last week was my 1st week back & I'm down 3 lbs already!! I'm so excited to be getting back on track again and with the support of the ladies (there's a couple new smiling & supportive faces on the team) I know I can keep it going. One of the things I love about Physiciancs Weight Loss is that even though they do have some really yummy supplements and snacks, they are teaching me how to eat the right amounts of 'normal' food. They're very helpful about how often and how much protein, vegetables, fruits, dairy and even starches to eat for a meal and there's several options for each so I don't get bored. I really love food and I'm finally starting to put food in it's place without adding it to my waistline! :) I'm excited to keep it going & I highly recommend not only Physician's Weight Loss but the Ashburn Clinic. I joined the program March 1, 2015 and to date I have lost 40lbs in about 5 months. My sister joined with me and in the same amount of time has lost 77lbs. To be clear, we are not eating pre-packaged food, I cook my own meals for breakfast lunch and dinner and have 2 of their protein shakes a day in between meals, so I'm not starving by any means. If you don't lose weight with this program it's simply because you are not following it to the letter. I am honest enough with myself to know that if I had not cheated I would have lost more by now. That being said, 40lbs is 40lbs and I'm proud of that. Dr. Susan, Katie and Nikki have been such an important part of my journey.. They have been honest and encouraging when I've fallen off the wagon and given me the motivation to keep on track. Is it expensive? Yes, but not when you really sit and do the math. On this program I pay $146 a month and that is still less than what I used to spend on eating out almost every single day. I used to buy a $5 cup of coffee every morning, that's $100 a month on coffee alone, let's not even add lunch a couple days a week and restaurant dinners on the weekends. My plan is for 2 years and that may seem like a long time but I didn't put on the weight overnight so it won't come off overnight. This program, just like weight loss, requires a serious commitment to yourself and your health. Do not purchase the "$59 for a four week weight loss plan" Groupon for this place. Their doctor's fees are $700 and your Groupon is only worth $398. In order to use your Groupon, you will need to pay an additional $302 to start the program plus they try to pressure you into purchasing their complete weight loss package which can be almost $2000 if not more. I bought the Groupon thinking that I could try out their system. The only thing you'll lose initially is money. So, now I'm out of my $59 that I paid to Groupon. This is a scam. Try other weight loss centers that are upfront about their fees with a no pressure sales tactic. read more
